Thank you for taking the time to show your painting techniques.
Andy, Thank You! After a 15 year hiatus from the hobby I stumbled across this build video. I immediately ordered the kit and assembled it using many of the techniques you used here. It was an awesome kit and my version came out really nice! I’m very happy with the results to quote you. Needless to say it but I am back into the hobby and couldn’t be happier. Love the videos so keep them coming and thanks again for rekindling my passion for scale modeling!
Hey Andy, from another Andy, I think you should start an online store again, the hobby shop near me specializes in trains and has very little armour. I would really love to support you but I'm only 14 and can't get to Arizona. Cheers
Tamiya the best model kit company in the world!, been modelling for near 40 years and it is still the best.
It's so satisfying watch models being built keep making more videos :)
Your videos are great at reinforcing a strong set of basic skills that anyone can have a go at themselves at home and make it all look fun and easy. Great work Andy...

just got this kit and its amazing. love the detail. your work is awesome and love how you explain the way you do what you do. makes the learning that much easier. thanks and keep up the great work
Thanks Andy for this video. It has been a great help to me as I built my Abrams. I don't doubt the information that I got from your video kept me out of several problems. Building the turret mounting system would have been much more difficult, not to mention annoying, if I did not have the video. By the way I used a tiny ball of blue sticky stuff to hold the screws to my screwdriver with the turret ring. It worked great and the blue stuff easily pulled free after the screws were tightened. Now to paint.
that is pretty cool engineering on the m1a1 your doing a great job painting and building as u give tips to make it easier 👍👍👍
That’s just rude
Wow, that's a big tank, thanks for showing us this beauty!!
sob this thing is huge! cant wait to buy it!!!! great build Andy!!!
thank you
That monster is gorgeous!!!!!!! Very well made and weathered as well!
As always Andy; great video, great build, and very informative. Keep up the good work!
Great nice Tamiya M1A2 display version model. See your video clip planing to buy one myself soon .
Woot, been looking forward to this since your preview :D
Love the Abrams along with the tiger 2 and tons of others keep up the good work.
Andy you truly have the patience of a saint applying 1/35 painting techniques to a 1/16 kit. I would have just hit it with a rattle can and called it done ha ha. love this kit and great job on this video!
Great video that weathering is simple and looks good!
Great video! Thanks for sharing. I have been building the RC versions of allot of Tamiya trucks and armor and I like this static version allot!
I love how fast the build was released after the review! I was expecting a month in between!
Awesome looking model and great finish! Thank you for the video.
Tamiya builds awesome kits...
I have always stuck to revell but looking forward to switching to tamiya models. Love seeing your video as gives me a idea of what model to get next. Keep up the great work.

Nice work on the Abrams build...the tank is a monster.
Beautiful model Andy! That is one big kit. Great job as always. Cheers!
Freaking AWESOME! You make it look so easy. Great job!
Wow! Absolutely superb! I want this and the Challenger 2 now! 😊
Hey Andy, just wanted to say that this is another great build, and thank you so much, I have learnt so much from watching your videos.
You impart knowledge in a wonderful, easy-going fashion, and your love and enthusiasm for the hobby is self evident and infectious.
Thanks mate, I really appreciate all your hard work.
great video but here is a little tip with abs. from a printer guy. use a little acetone on a brush. but be carefull if you spill any it will melt the abs test it on some scrap. enjoy your vids andy :)
Good tip thanks for watching
Wow, beautiful work again, that model looks like alot of fun
Wonderful work..wish I had that sort of turnaround time on my model kits...still over 60 in the stash!!!!
Truly amazing video! I love all the details. best modeler 2017 keep up the good work!
Andy, thanks for building this Abrams so soon after you received it for our viewing pleasure. As always, you did a GREAT job! Do you write a script for your video builds and reviews or do you just comment as you go along? Whatever method(s) you use, NO ONE does it better as far as I'm concerned. I think I would get tons of your subscribers to agree. PLEASE keep up your good work!
Great video! Excellent tips and technique. Thanks!
Fab video of an amazing kit!!
HA! Return rollers.... I though they were road wheels until you said something... that thing is huge
Incredible, what a beauty
the paint skills, wow!!!
Man, that’s a really nice kit! I like that old military stuff but I wish someone made them in 1/24th and 1/25th scale and a detailed engine/pack! I’ve never built any military vehicles but getting more interested all the time now! Good video here too!
Suspension and track are great!
Daumen hoch klasse 💯✨️👍
Andy the Model Master... Your new name should be "M&M." Wow, super nice build again keep them coming!!
Thank you
Awesome kit nice job on it keep up the great videos.
Been waiting all week for this vid! Thanks Andy!
This is amazing!
Wow! what an amazing kit. Fantastic looking finish Andy, well done mate! What I'd give to get one of these, but sadly would be way out of my price range.
Great build Andy it looks superb
Nice build and nice to see that Tamiya is also promoting this item on their twitter :)
Wow....that is huge.
Nice Video, great Job :) Cant wait to get my Hands on it, too. :D
Impressive, it was very interesting to watch.
素晴らしいの一言だねさすがタミヤこれからもどんどん新製品お作ってください応援してます期待してます
Great work!
Big and Great !!!!!!😉
Impressive the evolution of plastic modelism, steel with plastic. 27 years ago I build this tank with three engines. One for the turret and two for the tracks, remote control, I think it was Tamiya, I didn't kept it with me.
Your work is awesome
Thank God , for these videos
Enjoyed your presentation. I was a project manager for the M1A2S tank (export model for Saudi Arabia). We would paint many of the sub-components prior to mounting them on the tanks passing through the factory. With this model is it feasible to pre-paint the vehicle prior to any assembly or would that create more hardship than its worth? Also when weathering the model, add a little grime around all of the fuel hatches and some scratch marks where the top gun mantel flap rubs against the top of the turret - otherwise, great paint scheme! Also, the paint will flak off a bit on the engine exhaust hatch/vent in the center rear of the vehicle.
Most people do paint before assembly, he seems to do less detail on the inside because it is hard to see if at all. I do very detailed interiors on mine even if it is not seen because I have spent time in the real vehicles and it means a lot to me that its done.
Sad you sold this beauty to a country which still crucifies ppl in public and bombs young schoolkids in Yemen. Not to mention a country where the 9/11 attackers came from.
Raw Potato as much as I agree with you (re; Saudi Arabia being the heart of darkness in the modern world)... can we please keep this channel free of politics and friendly/light hearted. Andy's channel is like a little daily escape from the real world. After all, isn't that the whole point of modelling? To be fun and to keep us sane?
@@rawpotatofella9654 Are you really going to let a few public crucifixions stand in the way of enjoying kickass tanks? Get your priorities straight.
How different is the armor on the M1A2S compared to the US versions? The ATGM videos cast some doubt
Superb video. Subbed. Tamiya's engineering is once again show to be one of the best, if not the best, on the market!
Absolutely awesome
I need one of these! Price wise I think my current crawler build rivals this kit. Tamiya makes awesome kits and they set they have always set the standard.
Nice. That fingernail polish really compliments your cheek bones and choice of table your working on. I just had to bring up fingernails. Awesome how it all came out. An absolute monster. The US military has some extremely cool vehicles.
great job!!nice tutorial....nice video,thanks!!
For your ball bearings on the turret ring. I use a bit of vasiline on a tooth pick stub to dab a bit in the spots needed to hold the bearings in place, Usually you need to ritated the unit several times to work them free flowing.
I really like the paint job
thats so beautiful
Nice job!
Nice model and nice assembly video. Looking at the model, it doesn't look like it would be too difficult to get electrics and motors in there. It'd certainly hold a lipo inside down the middle.
I built my M 1 back in 1984. All of my old tanks are long since gone. 1/35Th scale.
Interesting subject and build. I watched the whole thing unfold in awe. Thanks for the video.
I have a question: what brand of lacquer varnish was used to seal the paint job? I always thought that lacquer was not compatible with acrylic....
These Tamiya R/C tanks are awesome, I just wish I could afford them! Thanks for sharing though
Beautiful
Great job. I really like you technique.
Your
Nice work Andy. One minor point: the optics on this tank should be a reddish colour, rather than the blue tint you used, due to the fact they have an anti-laser coating
Andy, beautiful tank! I am just curious about how you manage use enamels + enamel thinner for weathering without stripping/crazing the acrylic paint?
凄い!真棒!Awesome!
Awesome Kit
Good work.
Outstanding!
i think that you should do a big build every few months. like i said in a comment on a previous video, the merit international SBd dauntless would be a good candidate for it.
Sir, AlexModeling did in December 2016
yeah i saw that series, but i would like to see how andy would do it.
@Chris McRoy okay?
Great job
Omg love this video i don't have the time to build tamiya models its better to watch it be built
excellent build
The price the industry is asking for these kits is beyond insane.
Agree! Buy Italeri, Airfix, Zvezda and Revell some of their new kits are just as cheap as their older ones and the quality of their new kits is just as good as Tamiya. Use scalemates to see if its a new kit or old that you should avoid.
@Klaus Einsenhower Not really some people only have like 20 or 30 dollars a month for models.
The one i have was $350.00.
@Klaus Einsenhower ouch

Cant wait to see 1/1 scale
Now that’s a Ta. Ank really neat Andy ! first thing. To do gets bowls and sort them screws .
what a beast of a model 💯👍
damn great video! the day after u posted the teaser one about that kit i got worried, it was a long time before u posted this one!
Awesome!
Nice one!
THAT WAS SO COOL!!!! I like the metal piece. that make more realistic
Fabulous video.
YOU ARE DOING GREAT GOB
An excellent kit Andy very well finished, I wish tamiya did the British Challenger ll .
AWESOME!
Hello, Andy. Thx so much for your brilliant work. I'm building a Tamiya 1/16 RC M1A2 now, watching your video on the process almost feels like cooking with Gordon Ramsey XD!
Do you recommend to paint all metal parts with (I) metal primer & (II) XF59(50%)+XF57(50%) before I put the model together? Or I may leave the paint until the end? Thx
I liked this video. Thanks
I'll need to look into this one. I built an M1a2 Abrams in 1/48 scale 20 yrs ago. It was my first tank ever. Could you include part number next time so it's easier to look up the model.
What did he seal the paint in with?
