One thing i don't understand about tamiya RC tanks is that they use plastic gears. The kit costs around 1k usd or over in korea and since cheap brands like heng long or mato started using steel gears and gearboxes it feels odd to have full plastic construction on such a expensive kit. I own tamiya jagdpanther and js2, leopard and even though jpanther and js2 got metal gears they still somehow worn down after 6years of use. So I'm kinda worried that plastic gears on my leopard will wear even faster so i always run it only on indoors. Other than that amazing build and paintjob. I hope tamiya releases some kind of metal conversion kit anytime soon so i can go outdoors with my leopard

I used an electric tool because there are a lot of screws.

Gearbox looks similar to leopard.
Can you tell me how you are thinning down the paint used to highlight the metal seams and bolts? That paint just seems to flow once you touch the brush to the model, and I would like to try to duplicate your method.
The paint is thinned with a solvent appropriate for the type of paint. If you wet the surface with the solvent beforehand, the paint will flow more easily.

The ratio of paint to thinner cannot be determined because it is also affected by the thickness of the original paint. You can try again and again.

Made in Japan.
People always make the same mistake. The exhaust grid will always be totally black. No dry brushing. No emphasizing the grates. BLACK. There is soot there and everything, nothing gets rubbed off.

Too bad the Tamiya version of the M1A2 Abrams R/C tank is more expensive than the Heng Long version. I would have like to own one.

the huge problem with tamiya rc 1/16th tanks is the way over scale bolts and nuts they use.spoils any model,thier 1/14th semi trucks are nearly as bad.
