I have a suggestion for you. Once your friends leave, please consider the option of utilizing that space for travel medical professionals ie nurses, doctors, therapist etc. You can reach out to you local hospital's HR or recruiter to hook up with either them directly OR with whatever staffing agency they may be utilizing. They pay company or hospital pays directly to you and usually 16 week contracts with the possibility of longer if their contract is extended. I know they are always looking for housing there. I was offered a travel nurse position in Alaska years ago and I didnt take it because it was shared housing, something I am not fond of. Just an idea for later. Since you will have it furnished they will pay really decent price too. Just something for you to think about!
Agreed I have some friends who do that and rent out a similar type place for much more by the week to travelling medical professionals. They have been doing this for a good while and in a few years only one minor unknown issue from a guest/resident. They contacted the hospital HR Dept not expecting them to do anything but to inform them of what happened and they where more than cordial and apologetic and went as far as to say they will never bring her back and have notified her contractor. Was not a big dollar thing but they had to hire a professional cleaner for fee that was not horrible more of an inconvenience and disappointment as they did not as usual suspect the one who did the damage to be that one who does.
I worked as a travel nurse several years ago. Most apartments I was housed in were not nearly equipped with so much. It's always interesting to travel with what you can pack in your suitcase or car.
I was a social worker for 28 years. I worked with kids getting ready to age out of the system. I have done what you did many times, We always hit up thrift stores, then the dollar tree and Walmart. It was a struggle because the state gave us 1300.00. But we never failed
Hopefully the Somers can find these things for the apartment at a garage sale or something. They know the family living in the apartment so they might not need the items right away. Plus, it sounds like they want to stay in budget. They have already invested a lot of money. Maybe we can help??
You are such selfless folks. Kind hearted and loving. You definitely do the Lord’s work and your children are learning by your example. My family have followed in your footsteps in terms of Acts of Kindness, and charity. the other day, we paid for a family’s dinner when their bill arrived. They were screaming and hugging us. It feels sooo great to give, even if you aren’t well off, and we are not! Love u guys!!
I've rented many VRBO and the relaxing ones aren't cluttered. I think you've done a great job furnishing the place. We don't need as much stuff as we think we do. :) I love your idea of a personalized picture on the table to welcome your guests. Also, an info-binder of things like wifi password, code for door security key box, and other instructions (when is trash pickup, etc) and local favorite shops (best coffee or pizza in town) are always helpful to settling into a new place. When you move to a new place you lose all your support system for services like mechanics and hair stylists, pet groomers and doctors. It's nice to have some options on where to go.
Sold everything 4x in the past 9 years moving around to different states for fun. Then I became a travel nurse after I realized I can just visit any state I want and only bring what fits in my car! Some people are nomads at heart❤️ A a grey upholstered head board would look nice along with window coverings. I like the colors you chose.
Your generosity is unreal! I have never rented a full equipped apartment. I've always had to bring all my things with! I would love to have a cozy home like that!
@@TheresaPowers Seriously? They have the means, and they would like to help the family that moves in. How is Biden involved? Yes, he's potentially the worst President ever. But If you cannot help your fellow neighbor, when things are just getting tough, where will we all be when the world has completely gone down the drain?
You both are beautiful people, my husband and I did this 2 years ago, with a wood shed, that became a 16x20 little house for my husband's son visiting from New Zealand, then my brother to stay in for a yr. Now we have a beautiful guest house for visitors
Broom , vacuum, coasters, a throw on the couch, a flashlight with batteries, when I first moved out of my parents house to live on my own my parents went and bought me a ton of stuff for my new apartment and that is an incredible help when you're starting off and a new place. Great memories
Nice job.👍 Love the neutral colors. One thing you might be missing is lamps for the night tables. Please give us a final tour with all installed. (Curtains, tv, cleaning supplies - broom, mop, etc.) 😃
You all did such a great job, your friends will be blown away . You are an amazing beautiful family and it’s great that the kids all pitched in to get it all set up. Blessings to all of you 🙏🙏🙏💕💕
You did great. My list: Coffee maker, broom, mop, clock radio, little lamps for bedroom tables, a comfy throw for the couch with a splash of color there, Costco has them and they aren't very expensive. Did you get glasses and mugs? Dish soap? Drainer? Dishwasher soap? I think you got a few things for the walls, I hope you will show it again after TV and they are up! I also agree with the curtains, it still sounds pretty hollow, the cloth might help, and be pretty! Hand soap dispenser, but you probably got that, we didn't really see the bathroom.
Over the years I have found a lot the furnishings and accessories I have in my house, that were perfectly good but discarded. When my husband had to live in a studio apartment for a job out of town I was able to go through the house and pull together a lot of things. He only had to buy a futon and microwave and a few other things. Worked for him. You got a good deal at Walmart on your things. May they be a blessing
With my first marriage had to start from scratch buying everything like you all just did. This was in 1972. After that I just accumulated things. When I got divorced in 1989 got rid of a lot, and started again buying new things(new memories) . Now that I’m 74 (omg), got a new living room set(my old one was 30 yrs old), and new stuff my kids have got for me. Life is good, but sure does go by fast!!!!! Love your videos! Be safe & take care!!!!
Maybe small end table and bedside lamps?I love ambient lighting versus overhead ceiling light.I would enjoy that apartment immensely.Great job guys!😍🥰♥️
Yep did it a few times. We are military. We moved overseas to fully finished places and sold a lot of stuff so it didn’t rot. Also movers break a lot of our stuff so we are constantly replacing things.
I did this too. However, I had a lot of time to do it. I don't rent it out, but if have out of town guests, they have their own place to stay while here. They can come and go on their own. They have everything they need, but I love to cook, and bake, so I usually have them for meals, unless they have special plans. This way they don't have to worry about staying in a hotel. I don't charge them. I also know everyone that stays there. I like to help out when I can. When no one is there, I use the space.
Bedside lamps, tin opener, bedside clocks, bath rug, tea/coffee cups, glasses - you guy's are awesome. I am also surprised you can go to a store and literally purchase stuff like the mattress, and take it away with you - in UK we have to wait and order everything!
Hey guys that is so great of you to furnish the apartment. The only thing I thing I would have added are lamps for the bedside tables and maybe the living room. I enjoyed the video.
Your little family is simply an amazing blessing to so many! ❤️ I love how it turned out!! So simple and fresh. And poor Burt...I thought he was going to faint before the shopping even began! 🤣
I have never moved somewhere where they go out of their way to make sure everything is there and furnished! Yall are amazing and really generous!! For that price, yall got a lot!!
Looks great! All your kiddos are such a great help and get it done. So nice to see..also Audrey really seems to jump in and help out so much, great girl and great kiddos you have! Anyone would be lucky to live in this space you all have provided.
You guys did great! We have helped our kids move into their first studio apartments. It felt overwhelming and yet limiting because they didn’t have much space. What a great adventure you are beginning! God bless!!!
Garment steamer instead of the iron and board. It looks great folks! I did this a couple of years ago and it was more than that amount from Ikea and Walmart.
We did a shop like this! My hubby and I were living with parents before marriage. When we moved into our own space, we needed one (or two) of everything!! We used 10+ old bedroom furniture for 3.5 years before we decided it was time to buy our own. Slow and steady!!
Wow, you lost so much snow so fast. We had the first green leaves pop in Wasilla over the weekend…traded our ravens for gulls. Still hoping for that first robin to start tuning up :) Sweet vid, as ever!
Coffee maker, cookie sheets, clock, glasses? If I were renting the apartment I'd be thrilled and happy to buy anything forgotten. I was sitting here crying the loss of 2 friends, your videos are a beacon of light in dark days. Love from NJ ❤️
I couldn't live without bedside lamps. And some pictures on the walls, ie. above the bed. (Do you have trift or dollar stores? You can save a lit on decor)
Wow... The Apartment looks Fantastic... You all did a GREAT JOB with colors & decor... I LOVE the flooring 👍 I think I recognized the refrigerator 👍😉🤣 Great Job Jessica & Bert... GBY ALL 🙏❤️💙💖💖💙🐕🤗✝️
You guys are great! Watch your videos makes me hope when I start a family that my family is as happy and as close as you guys are. Your videos show people are still great people in this crazy world! So thank you.
what about glassware, mugs, measuring cups-may have missed that whilst getting hubby lunch-what about pictures on the wall-maybe get ahold of a tv schedule or channel lineup (if you have cable/dish) so they know channels on the TV (I was thinking like a binder that you see in hotel rooms)-an iron/ironing board and a list of local places to eat, shop-local urgent care and directions to each of those places (some of us oldies still like maps-haha!)-you are doing a great job. I was reading through the comments and loved the idea of a place for traveling nurses and doctors. Loved watching this.
I work for walmart and we don't have a lot in stock do to missing products. Everything is now going online for some reason. But all those furnishings you bought are so beautiful these things are certainly me.Jessica and Bert you have such great taste in decorating this home.

Who ever is renting your Apartment is lucky to have great landlords like you two.

I was thinking lamps too and maybe a piece of art/picture above bed, etc.
Lamps bedside and living room. It all looks good.❤
Pulling the rug out away from the wall so the couch is more centered will be very eye pleasing. Love the space!
Reminds me of taking my children to college and getting them set up in their first apartment or house.
Thank you for the CC. I am hearing impaired, and it is terrific to have them. I should have posted this a long time ago. God bless!
You all did such a great job, your friends will be blown away . You are an amazing beautiful family and it’s great that the kids all pitched in to get it all set up. Blessings to all of you 🙏🙏🙏💕💕
That’s great I never met people that buy all of those things for ur tenants/ friends. That’s beautiful looks great 👍!!

It's so good to see Audrey. She is so beautiful.
Wow nice job! Fully furnished here means, the big furniture, oven, refrigerator, microwave. Everything else is on the renter.
That’s awesome that’s you guys furnished the place. Most people would not do what you guys did. You guys are so awesome!
May God continue to bless helping out your friends on top of getting your parents house ready for your husband's grandmother. Your a true blessing.
When I was young and starting out I would have loved to rent an apartment fully furnished. Great job it looks nice. Take care. ❤️
The apartment looks so nice. Y'all did a great job picking things out. 🙂. Will be a blessing to those who rest their heads there.

Another very fun video with the Somers. That place is so nice, I want to live there.

I have to say...I love these amazing kids💞
I wish I was going to live there 😂 holy moly! I have never had a fully furnished apartment. Always have to bring my own stuff with me. I have always wanted to be able to go get new stuff. It's a dream I had growing up but life happens & never been able to afford it.
