I still have my 91 year old Mother. My Daddy passed away 30 years ago. So blessed. So good your children will have memories of their great Grand Mother.
Audrey was so brave. I have to say there is something extra special about that girl. She is growing into such a strong young lady. I can't wait to see where life takes her.
As someone who has been in a wheelchair for 35 years, it's great you are thinking about your Grandmother's comfort and needs. Don't forget a high toilet or at least a raised seat. It makes life so much easier for the wheeler and anyone assisting. My heart goes out to Audrey- Dental works no fun! Love your positive channel! Bless you all.
Growing and planting is my saviour for my mental health, only got into it 3 years ago but now I garden to save myself and love to share on youtube with others! It's all about that new life..... get those seeds planted. Lx
Encourage the kids to ask Grandma Somers about her life and experiences growing up. She has lived through some really tough times, and has so much wisdom and knowledge that you and your children will appreciate for the rest of their lives.
OW, for Audrey, I feel you as for our Elders, welcome to Alaska Grandma Somers Enjoy your special time that's right you go above & beyond, to help them, no matter what, as for me I lost my Mom, Dad, 2 brothers, 5 sisters
That is SUPER special that they still have their grat grandparents in their lives. I moved 900 miles away from my home town and state to live closer to my grandma, who is going to be 96 this year. Ive been closer to her for 4 years now and its a blessing and great!! Definitely enjoy the time, while you have it! Hopefully Audrey is feeling and doing better!!
No way little sister. I’m happy you decided to stay at home. One little bump and you would be in trouble. You are a terrific young lady. Take care Somers family. ❤️
Omg Audrey was so brave about getting her teeth extractions completed. She is turning into a strong little woman. Love seeing you guys promote family values & can’t wait to meet great grandma Somers. ❤️
Audrey must avoid a dry socket at all costs, as it can be extremely painful. Don't be tempted to brush too soon and dislodge the blood clot(s). I am looking forward to seeing great-grandmother Somers, who will have many stories about growing up in the Depression. I hope she will be able to acclimatise to the Alaskan winters. Old people need lots of warmth.

I LOVE that Bert’s grandma is coming to live with his parents. I believe strongly in keeping family close and caring for them. I don’t like nursing homes. Bad experiences with “excellent” home (so called excellent). I do believe in caring for our loved ones and bring in nurses as much as possible. You are a beautiful family. ❤️
4:20 I get my final extraction of 8 done on May 10th, dental buddies! my grand ma was born just before the great depression and didn't live long enough to see the 60's begin
I have been watching you guys a while now 6 months your UTUBE channel asked me to subscribe again to May 1 I love watching you guys all the kindness you have for other people
If you think it's frustrating not being able to do what you used to, try having 90% of your abilities taken away. I am disabled, if I go shopping I'm down for 3-4 days after. I am always in pain. On a lighter note your daughter is extremely brave. For me when I had extractions done I wanted someone with me, but couldn't. I now have about 7 teeth left. Eating disorders do have consequences.
Time to order a water pic. Great to tidy up with braces. Stock up on wax for the brackets to save her cheeks at first. They should let them rest a bit before tightening. Lot of frosty in her future but worth it. It's great you can vamp the home to give your Mum quality of life.
I feel for you. That was one of the most difficult times in my life. And the hardest to come to grips with. When I started slowing down. Late 30's! I couldn't deal. I WAISTED THOUSANDS ON SUPPLEMENTS, VITAMINS. EVERY SINGLE VOODOO THING OUT THERE THINKING I COULD GET MY ENERGY / STAMINA BACK. Just turned 52. NOPE!! I know it doesn't happen to everyone. But it sure hit me like a ton of BRICKS!! Praying it's just a season for you sweets!!!
Wonderful with great Grandma, get her to share her stories of her life. My Dad is almost 93 lives on his own so far. We have heard the same stories many times, now new ones are coming out. Things I never heard before. You can learn a lot. Have the kids learn from her too! Will be a real learning experience for them.
My son had the same thing. Dentist wasn't even sure there were permanent teeth under those. 5 generations of my family from Colo. but parents retired in TX and quickly both got ill with cancer. I quit my career and moved with my 13 yr. old to care for them in the home which was their wish to die at home. I made that happen and was quite a great experience to be there at the last. My brothers didn't help but I got the closure they missed. Good for you to help her out. Elderly aren't respected any more.
I hope Audrey completely recovers soon. It’s so hard when our parents and grandparents can no longer take complete care of themselves. We live in Arizona, and moved my mom in with us. She lived with us for 5 months and decided she wanted to move back home to New Mexico. She has a wonderful caregiver who treats my mom like a QUEEN. My sister lives in Colorado, so it’s really difficult for she or I to go down to care for our 85 year young mom. We are beyond grateful to her caregiver who has truly become family. Sending you all a big hug, and hoping your grandma’s transition to Alaska is easy. ❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼
Yes, Bert, it will be a blessing to have Grt. Grandma living close. Someday your kids will look back and remember the stories she told them. Wish l had paid more attention when my grandma was alive. Oh, and lookin' good Audrey!!
What a blessing for great grandma to have people that love her so and want to personally care for her. This is the way most Latino families do things, just caring for our elders and loving on them and giving them as much comfort as we are able to as they get older. Having grown up with that I will just tell you this is going to be such a blessing for your kids - even if they don’t have much they can do to help or it’s limited interaction because of what great gma is able to do, that huge example of compassion stays with you.
I still can't believe how much all the kid's have grown up so fast.. I've been watching from your first videos.. It's like it was yesterday Garrett was so tiny.. Evelynn is doing amazing in gymnastics and Miss Audrey is driving and is a teenager... Thank you for sharing your time, days and family with us.. Plus it's so good to see Alaska(home)...
Blessed to hear that there are still families who are taking care their elderly family members. I have heard so much lately how the Seniors of today are just put in homes, ignored, deliberately forgotten, no visits nothing. I come from a culture that takes care it’s parents and extended family. Blessed to hear about the Love and readiness to help and just show the Love of Jesus!! It’s just so sad that not all families appreciate and show Love and appreciation for what a parent did or even didn’t do, it’s called forgiveness. Continue on Somers family you got it right!!!😊❤️👍🙏
It’s all good! The only constant in life is change. 💕 it’s totally ok to have those no motivation days. 🤪🤪We just take them as they come. Audrey is a BOSS LADY!! Congratulations on having extended family coming home.
How wonderful it will be to have grandma Somers in Alaska with you. I am also in a wheelchair so it's wonderful to see the changes your putting in place to make life easier. I hope Audrey's mouth is healing fast. The growing season is upon us I can't wait to see your garden you did Amazing last year. Looks like fun was had at the jump park. Thanks as always for bringing us along watching all the way from 🇬🇧 England 🇬🇧
I’ve been taking care of my dad for 15 years. He’s 81. He’s now gone back to my sister in England. It’s exhausting work, especially when you are a single mom. I have 4 kids, 3 special need kids & I moved several states because of abuse. So good luck, it’s hard sometimes looking after family.
I always thought it was sad to see the snow melt away. The Winter was always better to me then the summer. You have shown Bert's Great Grandmother in past videos. She is an interesting person. I hope she will enjoy Alaska.
Having worked in Home Health/Hospice for years I’d suggest a few things: make certain the doorway is large enough to fit her wheelchair through, grab bars inside and outside of the shower, a shower bench, raised toilet seat. All of these things will make it so much easier to take care of her and to keep your parents backs in good shape. I’d also suggest a gait belt
What a great video! I can see so many memories to be made with Great Grandma nearby-your hearts are as wide as the ocean-such a great example for all of us.
The biggest swelling is on the second day. I had all my adult teeth pulled in stages in the dentists office. He put stitches in after so there were no open wounds. The stitches come out by themselves. You don’t have pain because there are no open wounds. You are just tender.
it's great that the kids will have their great grandma nearby....I remember my great grandma but she lived about 6 hours away.....ma past away in 1983 at almost 100
This channel is so special to me. I love the uniqueness about each one of you. God Bless all of you for helping with accommodations for your grandmother. ❤️. Each of your children are amazing.
I just completed my mother's bathroom to ADA. She is 90 and she lives with me. The bathroom was the best thing I could have done for her. I also put Ramps to get her in. It has helped all of us especially her.
My grandma (my dad's mom) passed away 4 years ago on April 25, 2018. She was 92 upon passing. My brother and I miss her greatly. Her last words to me were "Stay strong and I love you." I miss my grandma's hugs. I'm glad that Bert's grandma is going to be in great hands and well taken care of.
From experience, I can tell you that a Hoyer Lift is something that should be practiced with before using for real. See if the kids would volunteer to be test subjects and train, train, train until you can do it blindfolded. It will make things a whole lot easier when you put it in actual use.
Audrey did fantastic! Getting teeth pulled isn't pleasant. No, I wouldn't go to the fly park either. Lol. Jessica, the struggle is real. I've been struggling too. I can't to as much as I used to do. It's frustrating because my mind is like "we got this, I'll do X, y & z"... only one or two things get done. Maybe it's a sign to slow down and enjoy the little things? Yah Great-Grandma Somers is coming to Alaska. She'll definitely be in good hands. Love ❤️ from NJ
my son has an issue with his baby teeth just being so stubborn. his adult teeth start coming in well before his baby teeth want to come out. hope you heal fast, sending lots of love and healing vibes your way ❤❤❤
Praying for Audrey. That her big teeth come in by themselves... AND for grandma, that things will be easier for her now... So glad that Bert could help get the bathroom squared away with her needs now.
Audrey, I didn’t realize your hair is so long. It is beautiful! Also, no…I definitely would not go to the trampoline park if I just had 6 baby teeth extracted. Wise choice there. I hope you are feeling better and God bless you! 🙏
Agreed! Miss A is growing into a beautiful young lady... N as I ask of my Grand daughters..please take care of that beautiful hair..n don't cut it,trim ,yes, cut No! Once they start, most often, they will not stop!! IMHO.. and in most bibles...a woman's long hair,is her crown of glory!!! All " ladies ", deserve a crown! Jus sayin 🤷!
God bless you that your grandmother is still alive. That is awesome. Happy for you Bert and your dad to still have your family around. Hope you have a great mothers day with everyone
Sending healing prayers for Audrey! You GO, Girl!! Also, remember to give yourself some grace - life is changing and it's all changing 'seasons'. Enjoy them all!!!
My husband has spina-befita & in recent years is using a wheel chair more & more. We've been married for 37 years. We live in a handicap apartment with a bathroom door that slides open and closed. When it's opened the door is hidden in the wall. When closed its flush with the wall. There's no door opening into the bathroom. And no door opens into the hall way. If you're going to be using a wheelchair and a Hoyer lift you might consider this style of door. Even if the doorway and other bathroom measurements are wide enough it might still be kind of tight to get around with a regular door. I am a retired nursing assistant and have worked for 38 years in both nursing homes and hospitals. While taking care of people for a living I've been in a few tight situations myself. Sounds like you have a very giving family with a great idea to help your loved one. And if I had 6 baby teeth pulled, no park the day after. Sorry, this is long. Thanks' for your time.
It's beautiful what you're doing for your grandma. She sounds like a very special lady to have spent her life caring for so many others. Audrey, I agree it was a good decision to stay home and heal faster.
Audrey was on my mind, maybe because this happened? Ive had four for braces, been there. Keeping her in prayer, love your vlogs, nothing but love and God bless always ❤
Bless you for going the extra mile to help Grandma when she needs some assistance. I did the same for my mom in her later years when she felt she didn't need it, but I had her here with me and helped her in the everyday things she could no longer do herself. Took her a little while to realize that she needed it
Just a week ago we had a memorial service for my dear Mother in law. We were so blessed to be able to care for her the last five years. I will certainly be praying for you and your family as you prepare for her arrival and also as you all care for her. There will be challenges but so many many blessings too.
PS ...Jessica I have a suggestion... You take the lid from the jar of sprinkle cheese the one that pours the lid will fit a Ball canning jar ...You'll have a new Beverage jar that will accommodate a straw. Either for the kids or also You and Bert.
As a handicapped person myself I thought I'd share some thoughts for your Grandma. Get a higher toilet they really are a game changer. Don't forget the bars in the shower. Nonslip tiles are a nice touch. The bed should be the height of seat of the wheel chair. Don't forget to have plenty of room to take her chair. Wide hall and doorways.
I already started my seeds before the beginning of April, have 4 sprouted up. I hope Audrey gets better. I am glad your guys are able to help Burt's great grandma. I only have one grandparent left and both parents are deceased.
Hang in there, Audrey!! Rest, recover. Try some ice packs on your face to help reduce the swelling. The salt water rinse is life-saving (personal experience)!! The teeth thing - yikey! Last month the dentist told me all, repeat ALL my molars are cracked!! Months and months of dental crowns looms in the future. A fellow sufferer!! Happy to hear great grandmother Somers will be making Alaska her home. I just became a great grandmother to little Gabriella Paisley who lives with her daddy (the beloved grandson) and mommy outside San Antonio. She's a precious little bundle of delight! love from far southwest Texas
Just some advice from someone who had to figure it out for myself...As someone in a wheelchair, make sure the room transitions are easy for the wheelchair to go over. In the bathroom, area rugs that move are a horror and very dangerous. In the bedroom, short rails make transitioning into and out of the bed much easier. And a ramp into the house, if necessary. Since my amputation in September 2020, I do almost everything I did before just in a different way. The biggest rule is "Don't Fall Down". I am sure that Great Grandma Somers is going to have the best with all of you fabulous people helping her.
@@irenedavo3768 They say necessity is the mother of invention. I knew I had to go forwards. I am handicapable not handicapped. At least most of the time, lol.
Hope Audrey is healing nicely! Jessica, listen to your body and take it easy. It is hard when you are used of going and doing all day on a daily basis. I can be hard in myself at age 57. I get mad knowing what I used to do in a day and now I cant. I give myself grace and move on. It will be nice having an elderly family member to interact with.
So many of us elderly are forgotten, it did my heart good to see how your family cherish your senior.
I still have my 91 year old Mother. My Daddy passed away 30 years ago. So blessed. So good your children will have memories of their great Grand Mother.

A raised toilet has helped me so much! I use a walker and wheelchair.
Bars and a bath chair!
She is a sweetheart. Brave girl.
Growing and planting is my saviour for my mental health, only got into it 3 years ago but now I garden to save myself and love to share on youtube with others! It's all about that new life..... get those seeds planted. Lx
So happy your grandma will live closer
I love Audrey's sense of humor. Beautiful young lady! Good job mom and dad!
Sometimes we need to take time to just vegetate and relax.
I wish all families took care of each other like yours.
I miss all of my Grandparents. I just lost my last Uncle on the 20th. I treasure all of my family!!!
What a beautiful, caring, loving family the Somers are! ♡❤️♡❤♡
Encourage the kids to ask Grandma Somers about her life and experiences growing up. She has lived through some really tough times, and has so much wisdom and knowledge that you and your children will appreciate for the rest of their lives.
Audrey’s decision to stay home was the best thing for her. I wouldn’t do anything either just to make sure I was really safe. Good decision Audrey.
OW, for Audrey, I feel you as for our Elders, welcome to Alaska Grandma Somers Enjoy your special time that's right you go above & beyond, to help them, no matter what, as for me I lost my Mom, Dad, 2 brothers, 5 sisters
Audrey, Thank you for the humor!
It's such a beautiful thing to see family stepping up and taking care of the grandparents.
That's how I feel about people helping me. I want to do things on my own. I'm stubborn.
That is SUPER special that they still have their grat grandparents in their lives. I moved 900 miles away from my home town and state to live closer to my grandma, who is going to be 96 this year. Glad you are feeling better Audrey sweet beautiful girl.
Prayers for Audrey, feel better soon.
Moving is one of the most stressful things a young person can do, so God please bless Grandma Summers moving to Alaska and help her settle in.
I am so glad you are taking care of your own family. I wish all families could make the sacrifices needed to do the same.
Change is ever turning...as you breathe you change..You,Somers, are living the change of what a

Take care of are family older ones .yes we all get there one day time flys indeed
Time to order a water pic. Great to tidy up with braces. Stock up on wax for the brackets to save her cheeks at first. They should let them rest a bit before tightening.
Lot of frosty in her future but worth it.
It's great you can vamp the home to give your Mum quality of life.

What a great video! I can see so many memories to be made with Great Grandma nearby-your hearts are as wide as the ocean-such a great example for all of us.
Audrey is so brave for teeth being removed( cotton vlogged) and that's a huge ordeal; not like a simple cavity😉👏🥰

I love all your kids, but Audrey is such a mature soul. Great job raising decent, caring, great kiddos!
You guys are so awesome. That's the coolest place ever.
You rocked this Audrey. Blessings upon your family's decision to welcome Grandma.
I just completed my mother's bathroom to ADA. She is 90 and she lives with me. The bathroom was the best thing I could have done for her. I also put Ramps to get her in. It has helped all of us especially her.

You guys are amazing !!!!
Audrey, good you decided to chill with mom
It's beautiful what you're doing for your grandma. She sounds like a very special lady to have spent her life caring for so many others. Audrey, I agree it was a good decision to stay home and heal faster.
You got this Audrey! Love seeing you in the vlogs
Brave
When I’m stressed I clean the kitchen. It’s so nice and relaxing to do mindless tasks.
Took her a little while to realize that she needed it
Blessings to your family hello from Florida 😎🏝️👍🙏📿☮️
Just rewatching and fighting back tears. God bless all of you here and in heaven.
Audrey has that 15 year old attitude. Love you are taking care of family. You all are an inspiration. Love your vlogs.
Well done you!
