Still curious why extreme behavior is lauded as great acting, but subtle, lower-key acting is generally not acknowledged? Many do this, it's not just y'all, and other reactors. Is it that a lot of folks aren't detail oriented when it comes to this, so they need to be virtually hit over the head to take note?🧐🤔 With that question out of the way, my fav scenes of Noah Schapp from this season are coming up, and I'll be curious if you say anything about them.

When Bob jokes about pirate treasure being found at the x that's a callback to his role in the 80s classic, Goonies.
I was kind of surprised they didn't pick up on that, but I guess Sean Astin looks much different now than when he was 12.

"Bob doesn't know sh*t," EXACTLY.. 😅 he is just not know yet about what happen to Will, so when he tells Will to fight the Monster is just unfortunated circumstances. Bob is a good person, sweetheart who love Joyce and genuinely cares about Will & Jonathan so don't ever talk bad about Bob ever again and maybe for the future don't easily judge new character especially in Stranger Things series😊
S&P like Bob gave Will bad advice. Just because someone gives you good advice doesn't mean it's guaranteed to work! And just because it didn't work doesn't mean it was bad advice. Bob also lacked context. If Will was being bullied by an adult and told Bob, do you think he would have given him the same advice? Of course not.

Will's actor(noah schnapp) was awesome this season. From subtle scenes like that one when he's crying "i felt it everywhere" to other scenes like in this episode 5. He has a bright future ahead
I hope season 5 gives him more to work this. This season really let him shine and he’s a wonderful actor.

@@salvadormartinez8577 season 3 and 4 wasted both the actors talent and the character. His scenes where the most skippable. Scratch that, Jonathan and that long haired guy had the most skippable scenes but Will came close.

Omg this was one of my favorite episodes. Noah schnapp did such an amazing job with his performance.
The parallels between Max not believing Lucas and cutting to Murray saying they have to water down the truth is perfect. Because if not proven, people would react to the truth just like Max did.
Dig Dug is one of the well known digging tunnels video games in the 80's.
The reason the creator chose Sean Astin as Bob is because of an adventure kids movie called The Goonies when he was a kid in the 80's. You guys should check it out.
Sean Astin actually sent in an audition tape, it was the total surprise to the Duffer Brothers. They modified the part to be more substantial for him.
What I thought when he said.. what does the x lead to a pirate treasure. I yelled. Goonies never say die! ....

Hopper found out El was alive when that hunter reported his encounter with her to the police. That's when he started leaving food for her in those same woods until the day she caught him doing it and he took her in.🙂 A month after Will came back is when Nancy got back with Steve as we saw at the end of Season 1.

Sean Astin who plays Bob also played Mike in The Goonies. He is the son of John Astin who played Gomez in th original Addams Family.

And he will have a son, Paul Astin who would eventually star in the remake of Swamp Thing in 2035 😎👍
I knew he was in the Goonies and 50 first dates and Lord of the rings but I didn't know that his dad played Gomez in the Adams family original show that's crazy

Mr. Wheeler wasn't a bad parent by 80s standards. I was surprised Mrs. Wheeler actually knew (or thought she knew) where they were. Most of the time if we weren't hanging out in my basement we were riding or bikes through town, exploring in the woods and creeks, hanging at the park, the mall, the arcade... all before lunch which was a pb&j sandwich we kept in our pocket. Our parents could've ran through a list of places we could possibly be if anyone asked but that's about it. And they were very good parents. It was just a different time and a different world.

15:30 / 15:50 I don't care if S & P do a 180 by the end of the show, they don't deserve Bob. It's one thing to prefer Hopper, but Bob is a decent human being. I have never seen any ST reactor respond so negatively to him. I have never seen any reactor respond negatively at all towards him. From the very first episode, it's clear he's a decent guy. But I guess he does't fit into Spartan's _badass_ "archetype".

Sean Astin who plays Bob was also in the '80's film the Goonies as Mikey (which I recommend if you haven't seen it), in fact in this episode he makes a little bit of a reference to the Goonies with the "pirate treasure" line. Episode 6 is pretty damn good, after episode six it is episode seven which is an episode that well many people debate about whether or not it should have been included or not, but more on that when you get there.

Amazing job! as for the theory of Will birthing the demogorgon That Dustin found, keep in mind that season one ended in December 1983 but season 2 (when Dustin found it in the trash can ) is MONTHS LATER. (Near Halloween of 84. ) we’ve seen how quickly they grow, so it’s not the same one.

It's sad I thought he was a bit of a dork but I didn't hate the guy. The episode he talked about Will to Joyce about bullies I realized he is the dork/geek/nerd that precedes the nerds of the 80's, nerds who played D&D and read comic books like our group here were hated on in the 80's. It was hell for nerds back in this time, it's only in the modern era that being a nerd became cool and that liking comic book characters became mainstream. After that realization and the conversation with Joyce I started seeing Bob as a sweet guy thrust into a strange other-worldly situation. Also, after thinking back about what an asshole Lonnie was to Joyce and the boys Bob is a huge step up by comparison, he actually really cares about them.
@@roguechevelle yeah i agree. i loved bob from the start - for very similar reasons. I found him easy so sympathise with, and he is a genuinely kind person right from the beginning.
DIG DUG is an 80s video arcade game where you dig underground and encounter monsters.
The scene where El kills a squirrel for food in the woods, and the hunter catches her, and she throws a flaming log at his head, that hunter probably reported it to the police so that's how Hopper knew she was out there.
I normally am not big on shows with a lot of child acting, but these kids are amazing.
I love how everyone (me included) thought Steve was the stereotypical jock bully and is actually a genuine and nice dude

Kudos Spartan! The theory on how Hopper found El is spot on.
One of my biggest take aways from this season was just how FANTASTIC Will's actor is. We never see him in season one so it totally caught me off guard when he turned out to be a real powerhouse. To think if the show was never such a hit we may never have had the chance to see how great Noah Schnapp can be.
Murray ♥️ the funniest actor in this show. He became my top 5 favorite person in this show. Including dustin and steve. ♥️♥️ their relationship is the best

Regarding Eleven's age when Terry invades Hawkins lab: Remember that in the first season Terry's sister tells Hop and Joyce that Terry used to talk about Jane having abilities all the time. So we can infer from that that some time had passed between her giving birth and "losing her mind". It therefore stands to reason that there were a number of years between El's birth and Terry barging into the Rainbow Room. Eight is also clearly a bit older than the other girl in the room, so it's reasonable to assume that the girls are Jane and Eight.
