THIS EPISODE WAS MENTALLLL!!!! The emotion was just too much
Stranger Things 4x4 is live right now on Patreon! (4 weeks early) www.patreon.com/spartanandpudgey
Love ya guys !!
The fact that El's actress Millie fainted irl during the shooting of the scene in which she throws Billy out and continued improvising and Billy's actor dacre really hit his head on the glass hat's off man 🙌🏻🙌🏻
She doesn't know what it's like to work for your money and be poor and Jonathan doesn't know what it's like to be disrespected just for being a girl
Then there are girls who suffer with both
Yeah and that sexism was pretty off the charts. Just constant humiliation.
@@crowfoot1199lol yea it was pretty cartoonish. Almost made me think "hmm are they just lampooning secksism here?"
The actor Dacre is such a good actor
He left a lasting impression as far as memorable characters over all the seasons honestly
he and Millie boby Brown They definitely carried this episode The acting is top notch.
Not to mention good looking. I'm a man and I'd have a go 😉
When Robin says “It’s fascinating what $20 can get you at the county recorders office - Starcourt Mall, the complete blueprints,” that is a word for word quote, save for the dollar amount & location, from the movie Sneakers where River Phoenix’s character Carl says, “It’s fascinating what $50 can get you at the county recorders office- Playtronics Corporate Headquarters, the complete blueprints.” Nice nod to a very under appreciated movie.
Love Sneakers, it's an excellent movie! Nobody catches that reference, because Sneakers is indeed a seriously under appreciated movie (which is a bummer, it's definitely worth watching). Glad you posted 👍
Neat! Good catch. What a call back.
Adjusted for inflation that's like 80 dollars.
@@do0ranfrump260 Now, most of that is free. :)
I agree...highly underrated movie.
I don’t know if anyone said this, but i read somewhere that when El collapses in Mikes arms, the actress was actually crying from the sheer emotions of filming the scene! It’s not just hard on us to watch, it’s hard on them to portray as well.
I heard she was just exhausted from a long day of filming a stressful scene.
Yeah she just exhausted from the emotions and Finn just sort of caught her and went with it
Billy was a beast in this episode especially when he busted the sauna door right open
Apparently, he wasn't supposed to go through that window in the sauna scene. But he hit it with such force he busted the window out and stayed in character
@@TheMickytheboss IKR!
Erica is an amazing character and the actor kills it in this series. I don't know how the heck the filmmakers are able to bring all this out of these kids.
Judicious application of alcohol, cocaine, and tasers..lol..it’s so true, these kids are all very talented!
As an 80s kid, I can say that the mall being central to the action... that's the most 80s thing. This show captures the era better than any show set in that time period.
It made me legitimately miss the big shopping malls, right around the same time that the one less than 10 minutes from my house was closed down and demolished to make room for strip mall shops. And also reminisce about another mall in a neighboring city that used to have a movie theater in it like Starcourt but by the time I was old enough the theater was shut down and renovated (though the mall itself is still up).
Spartan again realizes what the world learned 25 years ago-Winona Ryder is a good actress. 😀
⚜️ Many of us knew how amazing she was 38 years ago in 'Lucas' (1986) with Corey Haim. 😉
Also did you know that the scene after the kids fight Billy and el falls onto Mike wasn’t acting, Millie was so exhausted that she collapsed onto Finn, and you can see Finn look over the the directors worried
I came to see if anyone already mentioned this to them
I actually forget how much of a great character Billy is in this season, the actor really put his all into this role and it shows. The casting is one of the aspects of Stranger Things the creators nailed in every single season, the actors always kill it.
I love that in each season of Stranger Thing we see one of the actors simply demonstrating unbelievable/awesome work
ST1: Joyce
ST2: Will
ST3: Billy
ST4: Max
ST5 I'm guessing will be ******, ****** or ****
@@Towey8 When the Mindflayer cried and said he just wanted to host people in episode 3 of season 5 I got literal chills.
Thanks you two!!! I know 'Billy' did a great job but this is also when it becomes clear 'Max' is a really great actress!!! Both are great additions to the ST cast.
I figured that Karen had been a good mother just based on how independent Mike and Nancy had turned out. Karen may not have lived her dream but she made sure her kids would not repeat her mistakes. Their conversation is a great family moment.
I love Karen tbh, compared to Joyce she tends to fade into the background a bit as far as dedicated mothers on this show, but after rewatching the show a few times I recognize how much I appreciate Karen’s parenting. She’s there for her kids, she supports them and wants the best for them and will do anything to protect them, I think she’s probably the most underrated character. I love the scene where she tells Nancy “you can talk to me” in s1 after Nancy loses her virginity to Steve… Karen knew right away and wanted to let Nancy know the door was open for her if she wanted to talk… She made sure she made her point across that she was always there if she was was needed and that Nancy could talk to her about anything.
YASSSS THAT EL AND BILLY FIGHT WAS TOP TIER 🙌🏾🙌🏾
the way spartan talks about max sure is... something
Sure is what? She is extremely annoying in the first few eps of S3. The writers forced it to create some drama between El and Mike.
@@bout350 Extremely annoying for encouraging El (WHO CAME TO HER FIRST) to be herself and not center her life around Mike? And also for putting Mike in his place whenever he acts obnoxious? Max is a boss!!
@@grace19005 She was completely over the top and extreme for no reason. It was the only thing in the whole series that felt forced to me.
@@bout350 Well, considering Mike treated her awfully in season 2, season 3 was Max's chance to get back at him. And I applaud her for it! El finally found herself after befriending Max and Mike also learned a valuable lesson regarding their relationship thanks to Max's inclusion.
@@grace19005 Mike treated her awfully in S2? They were separated for the entire season pretty much. This is a bizarre argument. Mike made up one white lie because he was warned by Hopper, and Max goes DEFCON 1 and convinces El to dump him. It's absurd. But ok.
It's been so nice to see Elle just get to be a young girl so far in this series, and then in this one she gets pulled back into it. Also for Max, from what we know she gets moved around and tries to make friends but she had to fight into this friendship group, so for her to have this friendship with Elle is really lovely, particularly because she doesn't have great homelife or relationship with her step-brother. In the Billy fight, I get why they do the pauses but realistically if that's your friend and they're being strangled you are straight in there. That happens quite often in Stranger Things.
I don't know. People who aren't used to physical fighting can sometimes just freeze up when confronted with actual physical violence. It's happened to me, and it happened to them last season as well, when Billy was beating up Steve.
Which isn't to say, of course, that during that scene I didn't want to yell at the screen. ("Mike! Lucas! Your mage is a glass cannon! *You* are the melee characters in this party! Get in there!")
Steve lost two fights with people but won against a Demogorgon lol because he had something to swing
Steve is never in trouble when he has that bat. When he does not, then you should worry.
everyone has their strengths
nancy is great with a gun
steve just isn't a hand to hand combat guy
@@nightfrost1891Decent enough stats that he can make it work, but not as proficient as he is with a melee weapon. Like a real D&D fighter ;)
People take the piss out on Steve, making him feel like a useless idiot at times. It's more of a friend tease but ouch. He's literally one of the most solid characters in the show.
Nancy's mom has actually been a G the whole show. I genuinely think she's just trying to help even when she was confronting Nancy about she's coat in season 1. If you rewatch the show watch how Karen acts. She's a great mom!
She deserves to score with Billy.
“If you die, I die”🥹❤️
If he dies, he dies.
Billy has a great arc in stranger things.
Ya’ll will learn to love Max 😊
I have to agree. Billy is a fantastic villainous character, and Dacre Montgomery was the best choice to play his part. The variety of emotions he's able to convey in just one scene is unforgettable. Truly a master craftsman. The fact that the writing and the acting can make us feel for a pos character like Billy is truly amazing.
Fantastic episode, but thers' more to come. Hold on to your seats.
The actor that plays Dustin actually has this bone condition so the writers incorporated it in his ST character.
In the sauna scene millie bobby brown actually collapsed into mikes arms after throwing billy through wall and you can see mike look off camera to directors
Don’t be too hard on Max lol
Spartan you asked if “cleidocranial dysplasial is a real thing? It is, And Gaten Matarazzo who plays Dustin actually has it ! is a rare genetic condition that affects teeth and bones, such as the skull, face, spine, collarbones and legs. The bones in people with CCD might be formed differently or might be more fragile than normal, and certain bones such as collarbones may be absent.
I want to say about one thing that gets overlooked in Nancy and Jonathan's argument are the points that Jonathan brings up. Yes, Nancy also had valid points as the people at the newspaper treated her like shit. And Jonathan agreed that they were assholes. However Jonathan's point was that even though they were assholes they gave him a job. While Nancy dismissed that comment by Jonathan "It's just a silly summer job", Jonathan brings up the fact that he doesn't come from an upper-middle class family like Nancy does. He doesn't have a college fund whereas Nancy likely does. He lives in a single parent home where his mother likely lives paycheck to paycheck (she works in retail which is not exactly a great paying job). His goals with his "silly summer job" other than experience and a reference that he can bring to possible future employers would be to put some money back towards college, help Joyce pay some bills, and maybe do something nice for Will. So while Jonathan might not like the guys at the newspaper he simply "puts up and shuts up" because there is a paycheck involved. I know too well that feeling. I had bosses that I didn't particularly like but I'd bite my tongue and curse at them under my breath and just do as they asked me to do because I got a paycheck out of it. Like I said before I do understand Nancy's arguments as well, it is just Jonathan's very valid arguments often get overlooked.
This episode is definitely one of the more intense episodes. The Sauna Test with the battle between Billy and El was one of the most intense scenes in the series.
The sauna scene is one of my favourite scenes in any movie or series. So well done!
Maybe the green stuff in the glass canisters was some sort of fuel source for whatever uber-powerful machine which is making the magnets fall off the fridge?
The substance kinda looks like something radioactive maybe?
13:41
Joyce and Hopper make a great team. I love them working together.
For better clarification, motorcycles back then were not exactly rare, but you can bet your ass that the police chief would know who had what in a small town where most people knew each other like Hawkins.
I got an older motorcycle from someone selling it four towns over in 1990. I had all the right paperwork, tag, insurance, everything. Been on it for weeks going to and fro to work, friends, etc, not even acting up. Got pulled over one day, wasn't speeding, nothing. I recognized the officer as one who had been at several of our highschool football games for security, our games sometimes got quite heated. He took a look at me, told me to take the helmet off, and "Huh, so you're the one that's been riding that motorcycle. We'd been wondering who you were." Went and got back in his police car and drove off.
Hopper had already clocked the helmet previously, he was just not on point like normal. Things had been quiet, the lab was shut down, it took a minute to get him out of his complacency.
And Joyce was right there backing him up.
The one and only f bomb in the show was unscripted on Billy's part, but it was so shocking and shook the rest of the cast that they left it in. Dude looks like a proper caged animal
12:08 You should react to the _The Princess Bride._
When Eleven collapses into Mike's arms after fighting Billy, it was real. She was exhausted using so much energy screaming. You can see Mike look off to the side while it's happening, he looked at the director cuz he was genuinely worried something was wrong
Dacre is so easy on the eyes
The best episode of season 3.. the thing to look forward to is every episode of season 4 is this level.
Lol "aka pudgy" Spartan "Settle down" lol oh y'all's back and forth is just great
Fun fact: distin(actor) can actually fit inside but they pretended that he cannot so Erica can get inside😊
Erica finally got a main character roll season 3,4 instead of 2 or 3 scenes like season 2
@@LovelyForestBridge-jq8ex She is not and wasn't ever a main character. She is at most a supporting character in seasons 3 and 4.
@@rexibhazoboa7097 she helped try to kill Vecna in season 4
Hate erica, that attitude from a child, oofff, got on my nerves
@@LovelyForestBridge-jq8exthat doesn't make her a main character. She is objectively a supporting character
This was the real flayed Billy this episode, love your videos🔥🔥🔥
The acting is amazing this episode, and next season there's gonna be a surprise related to this🤭🤫
I love how the discussion sections are so long for these cause there is just so much to say
That fight took a lot out of the actors Millie actually fell into Flynn and you see him look at the director cuz he didn't know what to do they just slid down the wall and he held her and helped her up, they were not supposed to do that but they kept it in because it was so good she was really exhausted and crying from screaming she lost her voice a few times during this season
I don't want to be that person but it's Finn not Flynn😅
@@jiminshii9683 lol yea I know Finn Wolfhard I talk to my phone it must have thought I was saying Flynn and I didn't notice lol
Not me watching this in the US at 4:00 a.m.
Billy was a huge asshole but he was also troubled and a child. The things he's been made to do by the monster are far beyond what he would have done on his own volition. I think you see the real him in the sauna, completely destroyed by what he's been made to do. It makes him in my eyes a tragic victim, even if he was a huge asshole as himself. I think he was redeemable with some anger management therapy and distance from his dad.
(Great acting too by the way)
"aka pudgy" ahh settle down 😂
lol, Pudgey is so locked in
I'm surprised you didn't notice Billy's aussie accent at 25:56 haha as a kiwi it was very obvious
I love how often you guys update! X
I love rewatching this series with you guys! Such great reactions
My first time watching this, I thought El might be done. When Billy grabs the back of her head, they do this audio thing with her exclamation where it does this slight echo thing while at the same time almost all other audio fades out, and it was very reminiscent of moments in other shows and films where the bad thing you think is going to happen happens. But yeah from the point Billy breaks out until he's running off in the night, this scene hits every time I watch it.
It's so horrifying that the monster is keeping Billy alive to witness its hideous violence
Dacre Montgomery is absolutely amazing. His range is insane; from the super emotional moment in the sauna pleading to Max all the way to his ominous, bad-guy self.
Fun fact...the scene where L saves them and sinks down to Mike...the actress really almost faints...watch the look the actor that plays Mike gives to the side...looking at the director for help!!!!
Binged the rest of the season last night and I could just hear yalls reaction in my head every episode 😂
😆🙌🏼
38:54 It was really touching seeing you and especially Spartan really missing Bob the Brain. How far you've come since when you first saw him and didn't like him! =D
i was not expecting pudgie to be gagging like THAT in the beginning of the episode 😂
At first I thought Pudgey was just joking with the shaking, I didnt realize she actually didnt pick up on the fact that t was an elevator that started moving...
The part where El lifted Billy up an was taken all she had was played so hard and Millie Bobbie Brown put so much into that scene that they part where she broke down an fell into Mike’s arms was not apart of the scene the whole intensity of filming actually had her breaking an fallen into Finn arms he didn’t know that’s why you can see him looking over to others cus he wasn’t sure how to react. This scene is amazing!
And it's the fact that after Eleven flung Billy into the wall she fell down and started having a break down it wasn't even part of the script and u can see Mike is confused when she falls in his arms 😢
I just loved ur end convo and reflections let’s revisit when u finish this season lol
Yesss one of my favourite episodes of Season 3. Great reaction. Love your channel 😁😄
I had forgotten how crazy intense this episode was. Wow Pudgey's face 😮😮😮
Yes the epic Billy and El fight!
Dacre Montgomery (Billie) and Millie Boby Brown ( Eleven) The two definitely came to shine in this episode, incredible actors they play thier roles so well also guys I can't believe they were having second thoughts about Joyce character come on i mean Winona ryder is an icon Especially in everything that has to do with the 80's and 90's...related she's top.
You can't spell America without Erica 😂😂
Dacre Montgomery aka Billy is another homegrown Aussie talent.
@SpartanandPudgey Hey! I am so excited that you're enjoying STRANGER THINGS!!! For your next episode, or better yet, when U get to season 4, make sure to get yourselves some STRANGER THINGS t-shirts!!! 😃👍
episode 6 of this season is my favorite i can’t wait for y’all to release that reaction 😊
I love this episode. El is the MVP
Can't wait for yall to react to Season 4, which is by far the best season
El vs the red ranger!! Billy was the red power ranger once right?
Watching from the UK 🙂
This episode was so good. And your reaction to it was great ! El will protect Mike at all cost !
CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE THE NEXT EPISODE AS WELL!!! It’s a wild one!
Awesome episode, awesome reaction! 😊
Basking robbins had special ice cream sundaes that year. Find pics online.
Hey folks, love your reactions! But Spartan, El isn't upset at Mike for him not spending the day with her, she's upset about him lying, then doubling down and lying again when confronted. It's the LYING. That's a betrayal to her.
Detective Byers always on the case. Her magnets fall and she already knows the world is about to end again
They never identified themselves as reporters at least on screen. Nancy just said she worked there.
And eleven breaking down was actually not scripted. You can see how concerned finn looks while he’s holding her cause Millie genuinely had a breakdown after for it being an intense scene and it makes it all the more emotional. I imagine every season is a lot for her mentally, as is for her character eleven
Such a great reaction as usual, I'm so glad you guys are enjoying season 2 and 3 as much as I did even though people say they aren't as strong. id love to see you guys react to Chernobyl if you haven't seen it already. I think you will really enjoy it
30:54 Shout out to Australia! Represent!
Billy’s actor is Australian just in case u guys didn’t know lol😅

fun fact ! when eleven fell into mikes arms at the end of the sauna scene that wasent scripted millie actually colapsed into his arms from pure exhaustion and you can see fin the actor who plays mike look over to the side at the directors for help ! that just shows how amazing and dedicated these actors are !
If you found this episode top tier, just wait until season 4… none of us were ready for season 4.
Was a big fan of the cast of the 2017 Power Rangers movie so it was weird seeing Dacre play such a dick but he was so good
Billy is a Aussie he is from Perth FYI
I'm glad you guys enjoyed the episode; it still doesn't hold up for me. I'm not feeling the threat like in the previous seasons, that is to say, I'm finding so much that doesn't ring true in regards to consistency with the previous seasons. It feels... staged, like the showrunners are more focused on trying to please/wow the audience rather than telling their own story. But moving on.
I'm on the fence about whether the mind flayer is back or it's just that sliver that was in Will continuing the main mind flayer's plan.
Yeah, Max is very annoying this season. After everything they've gone through, she ignores a Code Red. Good on the boys for pushing until they got through.
26:40 Spartan is a J. Cole fan confirmed!
In This episode i start to like Erika. Great episode This on...
Definitely a great episode of Season 3! Dacre was the star of this season
I literally just came on UA-cam hoping that you had posted and when I saw that it was 1 min ago I screamed😭❤️
Again... elderly lady and Will have similar attributes when it came to being controlled...
6:30 .... i mean, really? Lol love you 2
We want more Pirates, savvy?
