Let's be honest, herpetology is the hagfish of animal diversity. So maybe start with animal diversity. That should help spread the word into a more diverse audience. You already have a good reptile reputation, it's probably time to make a name in more corners.

HUGE props for making a reptile specific Veterinary program. There's a huge shortage of reptile vets in many places. Some vets claim to know about reptiles and it's really only the barest minimum and they aren't ARAV certified.
For real! Our closest herp vet for my sully was an hour or so away when he had a respiratory infection during Covid. I actually ended up on the news while waiting in the parking lot for my boy back. Fun times.
@@Shehzain yeah, forgot to say that, too. I love in the UK and there's not a lot exotic vets around. Luckily there's two in London. 😁 But when you live in the sticks it's a lot more complicated.

I started on UA-cam because I wanted to make knowledge available to people who couldn't afford to spend years and thousands of dollars getting there. I thought that was the best thing someone could do with this platform. But you just laid out a map to a far grander connection! I look forward to seeing you next week my friend. ❤

This is like the best news ever!!! I'm 19 and from Ohio, and I want to go into biology, but I'm too scared of college. This could possibly be just what what I need!! I love life so much, and I want to be able to learn as much as I can and share my growing knowledge with everyone someday
I’m a biology major at a Chicago university and I have legitimately used your videos for help in some subjects. So thank you for even these videos. And the fact that you are doing actual classes is amazing.
I grew up watching Steve Irwin and Mark O'Shea and Attenborough and fell in love with reptiles young. I never had the smarts to study herpetology and living in the UK it's not a common field anyways. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with your videos and now these classes. You're an absolute hero and learning from you is like having a glimpse of that road I never took.
I'm a fan in California, so in-person classes aren't practical for me, but when those online courses hit, I'm totally there. I can't imagine any of that list I don't want to take.
That is so amazing. I hope you also offer online classes for kids who live abroad. You have fans all the way in Italy. My son loves your videos and cant wait to learn more about reptiles and amphibians. Greetings from Sicily.
I was lucky enough to have you as my biology teacher back in 2019 at UVU, and I absolutely loved your class! I'm happy to hear that more people will be lucky enough to have you as a teacher again!
Living in Virginia I cannot attend your Utah classes but would definitely sign up for online classes. At age 71, I still love learning, especially about animals of all types. I cannot wait to see how your vision progresses and hope to be a part of it!
Every time that you have an announcement about Clint's Reptile Room (etc.) you somehow start off as if it is going to be bad news and the thought "that sucks" runs through my mind, and then it turns out to be good news.
@@qwertyuiopgarth Right. I'm happy for the good fortune of the channel but the thumbnails have me going "oh no!" Then I watch the video and it's all fine.
Sounds like what schools/education SHOULD be like. Im considering the online classes, myself. I love learning more about nature and its inhabitants. Its why i love this channel.
The sound of excitement that escaped me at "online classes in the not too distant future," you might have heard it in Utah, even though I'm on the east coast. This is an incredible project, and I am so delighted at the idea that someone like me, a disabled former teacher turned artist, with an autistic special interest in animals, might have access to some of this. I'm sure you have thought long and hard about how education touches and transforms lives. You are a gifted teacher, and I hope to learn from you directly, in the not too distant future.
As a pre-veterinary biological science major im excited to see your program. I want to go into exotics, repitles, and wife life rescue so seeing your passion for those fields id be a honor to study under a professor with actual passion. And one who cares about experience and hands on work. Exciting things to come! Congratulations!
Hello, My name is Ed I am 70 years old and have been keeping and breeding reptiles since I was about 12 years old. I am excited about the future online classes you are planning. I am always looking to learn more about the animals that I keep and breed. My goal is to provide the best care possible for the animals in my care. I have watched many of your videos, and I am always entertained and educated by them. I can't wait to see what you come up with because I know it will be great.
I have watched your weekly video drop every week for a few years now, Clint. Speaking as a science educator myself, I find your enthusiasm and attitude infectious and exactly what I try to convey in the subjects I love. Keep doing what you're doing, man. So much respect to you.
This is possibly the best thing I've ever seen from this channel. I've loved reptiles my whole life, and herpetology is one of my dream studies. Unfortunately, I'm but a mere high school student, so I likely won't be able to attend any classes. Hopefully, this new venture ends up being successful so that one day I can enroll and learn even more about these magnificent creatures.
Based on everything I've watched over the past 5 years, I'm going to give Clint's Reptiles a score of 5/5. Absolutely looking forward to what comes next, and hopefully I'll be able to visit some day!
I was studying palaeobiology at UNE in Australia, but I dropped out because it didn’t suit me. I adore dinosaurs, taxonomy, and phylogeny, but I hated the academic slog. I made friends with many cool palaeontologists, but because of the strict rote learning and inability to put the skills I learned to use, I fell out of love with studying. I’m sure many people are in the same position and want something more specialised. This academy phase sounds perfect and I wish I could attend
I absolutely agree. It is very hard to find jobs without experience but that's a huge problem in general. Not just that but the politics of academia are some of the most toxic things I have ever seen.
From the moment I found this channel it was an immediate positive influence on both my life and career. Clint, your infectious joy and optimism has been an inspiration. The knowledge you share has been instrumental in helping me re-focus my career and how I share that with my peers and coworkers. Not only has the zoological information been an aid in determining what I need to learn to choose my research matters, but I’ve become the annoying person in my peer group that is encouraging everyone the completely re-arrange our wildlife sounds organizational systems by taxonomy. Because of you, everyone I know, from my daughter to my coworkers, now use the word “clade” almost every day (or they at least hear me use it). I wish I could be apply to be present in person, but living in Seattle, it’s not in the cards now. So I’ll wait, somewhat impatiently, for the online classes to begin.
This is the best possible news! I'm disabled and had to drop out of college less than a year in, but learning and teaching are my greatest passions in life! I can't think of anything more exciting than being able to attend in-depth courses on my favorite subjects taught by an expert that I trust, so I really hope this does go online at some point. This will be an amazing resource, thank you so much for offering this!
Teaching in an environment like this is something my father would have loved to do in his retirement. Preparing goofy graphics, bringing in animals, really making an impact in his students were things he enjoyed more than the grant writing and admin of being department head. It is sad that he was taken too soon for all the great things he could have done in his later years, but I know you will be creating a great place for other people like him to follow their passion.
As someone in the UK (so sadly not the US!) doing a veterinary degree and also currently doing a postgraduate in veterinary education with my research dissertation being specifically on the day one skills needed by vets in general practice to see reptiles (I.e. what skills do we ACTUALLY need graduate general practice vets to be able to do) so we can hopefully influence the UK veterinary curriculum - I am totally into this, and would love to learn more and keep up with how this veterinary side develops. It’s my passion to increase the education of vets in reptile skills so thank you for working on this too!! My research is only just starting and we’re just awaiting ethical approval before we head to focus groups with various UK veterinary educators. We’ll then be doing a Delphi with a panelist of UK general vets and reptile specialists, but we’re already excited for the results! (P.S. I would love to see Herpetology as the first one but that’s just me)
This is the coolest thing I’ve seen in sooo long! I recently had to leave school (vet tech) due to cost, so the fact that you want to include veterinary subjects makes my heart so happy. I look forward to being one of the first online students, regardless of what classes you offer! I love learning, and my mood and mental health always suffer when I don’t have classes, so this is going to be such an amazing offering!
Clint! This is amazing! I can't wait to speak to you about this more when I come up for the Anniversary celebration next week! I would love to take classes from you! And it's been a struggle to find good veterinary care for my snakes. I can't wait to see all of these dreams become a reality!!
Your vision gave me goosebumps! If I were a young person again looking to start university studies, I’d be moving to the US just for the chance to study at Clint’s Reptile Academy. What an amazing thing!
I -love- the plan you've laid out! And I love how you're on a mission to make access to this kind of information more attainable to people who can't attend (or don't want) a traditional college experience. You are AMAZING!
This video just absolutely made my day! I love your educational vision, but when you mentioned the veterinary clinic I grinned the biggest grin! I’m a credentialed veterinary technician making a career change to become a high school biology teacher. You’re combining all the things that I love, and I can’t wait to see it all come to fruition! ❤
Your little friend just sat on your hand just as comfy and relaxed as can be! She hasn't moved a muscle. Your dream is as amazing as you are. I wish I was young enough to be a student again...😢 I'd be one of your first students❤
Love that you’re always evolving and growing with your educational content ❤ The world needs more understanding of how important and precious all animals are!
This is both huge and amazing. I am so freaking proud of you, Clint. You're so stinking rad and I cannot wait for you to share and gain all that knowledge ❤️
If it wouldn't have been for Clint's video, I wouldn't have Bailey...my Peter's Banded Skink. I love him so much!!! YOU ARE A GREAT GUY, Clint!!! THANKS!!!
This makes me so unbelievably excited, Clint! I have always had a deep love of bugs and entomology (and all livinh creatures as a whole) but since I’m in my last year of college as an illustration major It seemed impossible for me to find the kind of college level courses and learning I desperately wanted . I would be over the moon if I could take classes on entomology without all the baggage of traditional institutions!!
So happy for you Clint! this is such a great idea! I never shut up about you when talking with my Reptile oriented friends, thank's to you I am setting up my dream Vivarium for some southern water skinks. It will have a tunnel to a 300L planted aquarium full of small prey for them to hunt like Mountain minnows, Guppies, Danios, Shrimp, etc. Thank you for everything you do, if I was in the US i'd visit in person.
Wow, that's exciting! I didn't know this was a goal of yours but to hear it makes me so happy. To the point where, by the end of the video, I actually had tears in my eyes. See, years ago I gave up on my dream of going into a biology field because I'm autistic and I am *not* suited for college. It isn't the learning I'm not suited for, because I've been constantly learning about biology related topics my whole life to the point where family members ask me for help identifying invertebrates or birds, or help with their pets. It's the "jumping through hoops" (as my mom calls it) of going to school that completely shuts me down. I almost flunked out of high school because of that, even though I had good marks in science classes. There is a biology related job out there somewhere that I can actually do, even with my severe mental challenges, but I was giving up hope that I could ever find it, because I couldn't go to traditional school. I think that hope has rekindled. There's still some stuff I've gotta work on in my life before I do anything else, but I'll be keeping an eye on this for sure.
@clint's Reptiles I am super excited for you all and look forward to seeing how this next stage in your growth comes to fruition. i think this is awesome. I have followed you for sometime and think this is a great idea and perfect fit. i hope to visit your facility on the future.
This...... this is something I have wanted all my life.... I have been a lover of the natural sciences since I was 3, but my family didn't have the money to send me to university, and dispite having really good grades I never was able to get scholarships... I always wanted to be a paleo-biologists primarily because I love paleontology and biology and I can't choose between the two. Sad thing is I fear I still couldn't afford to take your classes. Dispite that thank you for wanting to provide for those of us that don't agree necessarily with modern academia but still want to pursue knowledge in the life sciences . You and your crew are goid people, don't ever change...
I'm so excited for you! As a passionate zoo/evolution/conservation educator myself, I think I can safely say you're building the dream facility!! I absolutely hope to visit one day
allowing students to learn in a unbiased safe environment is huge in our current day and age, more often than not college campuses have turned into indoctrination centers more concerned with furthering an agenda than furthering your knowledge and skills, also most require more on your plate than what you desire or need/want. this is huge clint and im so happy for you and wish you the best of luck on this journey you are a blessing upon this world.
Fantastic news, Clint. I wish that I was located in Utah, I'd be bothering you at least weekly. I hope that you are able to keep expanding and eventually get to the point where you have in person classes in the Mid-Atlantic region.
As a veterinary nurse trainee in Australia aiming to specialise in wildlife medicine (reptiles in particular), I can't possibly overstate how excited I am for those online classes and that veterinary clinic to open! I hope you can offer some kind of online training for veterinary professionals in regards to reptiles and/or other wildlife at some point!
clint, I don’t know if you’ve explored the question of whether you’re, say, *neuro-spicy*, but as an autistic adult I’ve really felt emboldened to follow my passions by watching your content, and I’ve seen how autistic children watch you nerd out and it makes them excited to be just like you one day. Thank you for creating a wonderful safe space for those absolutely obsessed with learning, you’re giving kids that have been bullied for their strangely intense interests a lot of hope 💚
Thank you very much for all you do Clint, I found your channel years ago and it has been a genuine pleasure to listen to you. I'm so happy that everything is going well for Clint's Reptile Room. Genuinely hope I'll be able to make it out there one day with my sons!
This sounds so amazing! I love the whole idea of a life science academy that is essentially stemming from a love of animals. I know you all will achieve that end goal!
Sir Clint pls allow me to get on my knees and bow down to you! This is something that has truly been lacking WORLD WIDE. this vision of yours is to be commended !!wishing y’all nothing but success and happiness. 🦎🦎
Great, now I have to move to a different state instead of 2 hours to a different city thanks to you Clint 😂 Seriously this is amazing. I'd love to be a reptile vet and now it looks like I will have an easier route to that possibility. Reptile vets are definitely in high demand but low in stock. I appreciate that you are working towards this.
As someone who is passionate about educating people on our natural world, this is amazing news! Hopefully I can either join in or find a way to those online classes in the future! :D
Clit I hope that I can come to the reptile room soon. I have been trying for a while to convince my parents to bring me because since I was little I have loved and want to work with animals. I also want to learn as much as I can about animals and you have helped me so much with that. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I’m a grown ass woman with a grown ass son- and your videos give me childlike delight. lol that sounds so trite but it’s true! thank you for all you do laura bs biology; microbiology (lol only one degree 😮)
I doubt i could ever afford it, but I really hope the online classes become a possibility. Being disabled (and poor) has prevented me from going to university and would make it difficult to hop over the pond to come in person (though meeting you and going to Clint's Reptile Room is an actual dream of mine), so the idea that it might be possible to expand my knowledge like that is absolutely incredible. Thanks to the COVID pandemic pushing lectures online, I was able to unofficially listen in on my partner's final year biology lectures, and that boosted my knowledge in a huge way. Hopefully I can further expand my knowledge at that level in the future. :)
The quest for more knowledge never ends. My life is about learning. I tell people I have two addictions. One is caffeine, and I could be convinced to give that up. The other is learning, and I will never give that up. I'm a helpless knowledge addict. I've taken the Myers-Briggs test (I know, I know) and I am an INTP, so I'm always experimenting. Excited for the next stage! I recently became a stinkin rad fan, so I hope to continue to support this channel and your awesome endeavors! Thank you for what you and your team does Clint!
Very exciting! I visited the reptile room 2 weeks ago for my 24th birthday and forced my mom and sister to go with me and they ended up having a good time! Im excited to be at the 5 year celebration it sounds like it will be so much fun! These courses sound like they will be a bit more age appropriate for me as I was the only adult "child" at the reptile room that day 🤭
What a crazy random happenstance! I'm actually going to quit my job soon and live out my childhood dream that I've been putting off for my whole life. I plan to go back to school and get a degree in Biology. It would be so incredible to learn directly from you! I wish I lived closer.
I discovered your channel within the last year, and through you Snake Discovery and Dav Kaufman’s Reptile Adventures, and love all three. I’m very excited about these developments. I’ve also started recently watching SciShow and PBS Eons, and it strikes me how similar their presentation style is to your own, and I have seen them do collaborations with other educational youtube channels like TierZoo and others, and I feel like reaching out to them might be helpful in achieving your mutual goals of science education. Just a suggestion I wanted to share, keep up the awesome work!
OMG! I would love to be part of this, take classes or even just visit Clint's reptile room, but unfortunately I live in sweden... 😢 Please make classes online as well!! It would be an amazing addition to my education in ecology. 🙏

(P.S. I would love to see Herpetology as the first one but that’s just me)
Clint reaching 1 million subscribers is not a matter of if but a matter of when.
Thanks for all you do for real education and for your passion for teaching and learning!
We are fans from the Netherlands and we will be soooo delighted to be able to follow online classes from you Clint, can’t wait!!!
This is absolutely amazing!!! I’m so excited for you!
You are a pioneer in education and care. I’m a biologist and I love your work.
This plan sounds so awesome. I appreciate the help you want to give to those interested and curious.
THANKS!!!
One broad course, one specific course
Let the broad course ride and rotate the specific course.
Record lectures and build a library 🙌🏼
This makes me so unbelievably excited, Clint! I have always had a deep love of bugs and entomology (and all livinh creatures as a whole) but since I’m in my last year of college as an illustration major
It seemed impossible for me to find the kind of college level courses and learning I desperately wanted . I would be over the moon if I could take classes on entomology without all the baggage of traditional institutions!!
This is amazing! What an exciting step for the future of education. What a pleasure it has been to be a fan of your work. :) Rooting for you!
In a year full of exciting news, this stands out. Humans are outstanding, and Clint is showing himself an excellent example of the form.
You are truly a great educator! You use many ways to make this education available! Kudos!!!
Clint, thank you for being you. Watching your videos brings optimism in my life. Thank you, too, to your entire team.
This is amazing! Absolutely amazing! Talk about living the dream and taking everybody along with you! I love it!
Clint's greatest strength is being an educator, imagine the teachers he'd be able to teach to teach if education is ever on offer at the Reptile Room.
Oh, WOW!!! That's an amazing vision. I can't wait for the classes.
I’m so excited to see all the future plans unfold!!!
This is so exciting and so cool, Clint! I'm thrilled for you and your team.
Your plan sounds like a great thing for everyone involved.
So excited to see where you go with this. Online classes would be amazing.
Awesome!! Love this and definitely will follow this journey
This is next level exciting! You're doing so many amazing things! Looking forward to learning more (and more, and more, and more!)
So exciting! Looking forward to online classes!
Fantastic news, Clint. I wish that I was located in Utah, I'd be bothering you at least weekly. I hope that you are able to keep expanding and eventually get to the point where you have in person classes in the Mid-Atlantic region.
CLINT what you are building is incredible. I wish we had some more opportunities like this in my area.
Wow! Impressive and exciting! ❤❤❤ Congrats on moving forward!
clint, I don’t know if you’ve explored the question of whether you’re, say, *neuro-spicy*, but as an autistic adult I’ve really felt emboldened to follow my passions by watching your content, and I’ve seen how autistic children watch you nerd out and it makes them excited to be just like you one day.
This is awesome! Good luck and congrats on the new academy! 😁🤘
Sir Clint pls allow me to get on my knees and bow down to you! This is something that has truly been lacking WORLD WIDE. this vision of yours is to be commended !!wishing y’all nothing but success and happiness. 🦎🦎
This is truly amazing. Congratulations!!!
Great, now I have to move to a different state instead of 2 hours to a different city thanks to you Clint 😂
Seriously this is amazing.
This is absolutely amazing!! Thank you Clint!!
Wow!!!! Such amazing awesomeness!! So many niches that need filled!
Best wishes of success in all your new projects.
This sounds great. I’d be very interested in the online classes. Thank you for using your position in such a wonderful way!
I know if Clint is teaching, then the class will be banging!
Clit I hope that I can come to the reptile room soon. I have been trying for a while to convince my parents to bring me because since I was little I have loved and want to work with animals. I also want to learn as much as I can about animals and you have helped me so much with that. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I’m a grown ass woman with a grown ass son- and your videos give me childlike delight. lol that sounds so trite but it’s true!
thank you for all you do
laura
bs biology; microbiology (lol only one degree 😮)
Very exciting. I think smaller stuff like this is the future of education. Best wishes for your success in this 💕
I am so excited for this. I am local but have a college class already on Tuesday nights. I will watch for this to expand so that I can attend.
These courses sound like they will be a bit more age appropriate for me as I was the only adult "child" at the reptile room that day 🤭
I 100000% love this and your vision brother keep it pushing we love the Clint reptile family
I anxiously await the day that you do a collab with Hank and John Green and do an entire Crash Course series on phylogenics.
Congratulations Clint!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉, Wishing you the best success!!!!!!!
OMG! I would love to be part of this, take classes or even just visit Clint's reptile room, but unfortunately I live in sweden... 😢 Please make classes online as well!! It would be an amazing addition to my education in ecology. 🙏
Hi Clint!
I'm from Germany and just wanted to tell you that you have one of the highest quality yt channels imo and in general seem to life your dream, which I celebrate🎉 Incredibly dense and interesting videos, unbelievable charm and moderation talent and I would definetely check out your online classes!
Next fall, I'm beginning my studies to become a biologist, with the dream of becoming an evolutionary biologist specifically. You, Clint, are my main inspiration that made me want to achieve this goal. You're stinking rad ❤
So excited to be a part of this!
This is incredible. What an amazing vision, I fully support this.
