- Owner of 'Emotional Support Gator' Says Beloved Reptile was Stolen
The owner of emotional support reptile WallyGator says the gator was stolen in Georgia, and is asking for help in trying to find him.
Joie Henney, who lives in Pennsylvania, said in a Facebook post that the alligator was taken from his enclosure on April 21, while the two were visiting Henney’s friends in in Brunswick, Georgia.
Henney said in a later post that the alligator was nabbed by somebody “who likes to drop alligators off into someone’s yard to terrorize them.” and that WallyGator was then taken by a trapper called by the Department of Natural Resources. Storyful has not independently confirmed this claim, and has reached out to both the Department of Natural Resources and Brunswick police.
The gator was reportedly the visual model for the alligator in Disney+’s “Loki,” and has gone viral after several public appearances over the past few years.
“We need all the help we can get to bring my baby back…there is a reward out for Wally’s return safely with no questions asked” Henney said in an emotional video posted to TikTok.

Because if that person is right, they probably euthanized it rather than release it, unless they thought the deformities weren't that debilitating.

@@oldfogey4679except they didn’t sell him. They put him in a persons backyard as a “prank” and that person called it in to have it removed. Wally was then taken to a swamp. They need to find out more on the person they put the gator in the backyard on cause they may know who caused all of this.

This breaks my heart. He was very important to this gentleman, and brought a lot of selfless joy to his community. He has expanded my understanding of what’s possible in the emotional life of reptiles, and he would be in great distress without his person. 😢

Well it is different than the norm, but if you look up on UA-cam, he was in deep depression after (I believe it was) his wife died, and they kind of became buddies and he takes him and shares him and lets little kiddos and adults pet him. Really sad

It's important to know where the gator was stolen from so people in that area can keep an ear out for anyone talking or bragging about stealing an alligator!!! You are right. He said he was visiting friends in Georgia when the gator was taken around the 18-22 second mark. It probably happened in Pennsylvania

He was abusing the alligator by keeping it confined in a small kiddie pool. Animal control took his gator and put it in a swamp with other gators.

This specific one was extremely docile and small, pretty sure old man said he had to hand feed wally in one of the interviews.

It was stolen. Also, Wally is incredibly docile and is shown to bond with people amazingly, he was living in basically a playpen. He has never acted aggressively either.
