I feel horrible for what Mr. Joie Henney is going through. It was very cruel what they did to stole this precious and adorable alligator from him. He needs his emotional support and Wally is what he needs every single day of his life. I can understand perfectly well what this man is going through having depression myself, and yes, animals are a huge and critical part of helping people go through the process of healing and/or fighting depression. My heart goes out to Mr. Henney knowing about how critical help is needed dealing with depression. I hope that whoever has Wally, has a change of heart and return this lovely alligator back to him. As he said, no questions will be asked and no charges will be filed against this individual or individuals…..just take the reward money and leave. A very sad and heartbreaking news of Wally, he is such a loving alligator, adorable and very cute. Wally is a gentle reptile which is unusual for alligators. Unfortunately, that is probably no longer possible, Wally was kidnapped and turned over to officers as a "nuisance" alligator. Then he was released into a swamp. There is probably no way to get him back. That thief ought to do serious jail time for this.

He won't die because he won't kill his own food. In captivity, he stopped killing because he discovered that humans would do that work for him. If he was really hungry, he would kill. Heck, if humans are hungry enough, they turn cannibal! But in all likelihood, Wally was killed very shortly after being released into the swamp since he has few alligator survival skills.
This is really bad, even though he was originally a wild alligator. He stayed with this man for a very long time so if he was released into the wild, he probably would die because he relied too much on humans for food so he probably lost his ability to hunt

I, along with others, pointed out that Wally may harm because he is unpredictable as a wild animal. Another species is unpredictable: humans. People can do all kind of awful things, even those who seem perfectly "tame."

Josh has gone on record saying Wally ESCAPED. He doesn't even believe he was stolen. Joe smuggled him into the state illegally and the fence is only 4ft tall in a majority of it. Gators can climb chainlink fences as high as 10ft!

I'm really hoping this story wound up with an happy ending, cause while I've never had an personal hands on interaction with any reptile 'like that' I not only feel I have a deep personal connection to reptiles, I've also got a neighborhood white cat who acts just like Wally, one whom who's given me more than enough emotional support...so ouch. Well you cannot bring an accepted pet from PENNSYLVANIA into a state of GEORGIA where its ILLEGAL & expect nothing to happen. That was STUPID to do without researching state laws. Being in that state at that time means violating local laws. If you don’t want consequences, don’t go where its illegal. Have them come visit you. 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ If he’s that important, it would behoove you to take all precautions by researching local laws & not putting him in danger. I pray Wally is okay. 🥺🤷🏼♀️😣

Wally lived wild for 18 months and clearly hunted his own food. Joe KNEW Georgia laws because his admin literally posted them on the groups months ago. Geogia doesn't allow pet gators period. I know it sucks and i know hes sad but Joe took huge risks with him and now hes lost him. His gators have escaped before and he always blames everyon else rather than use true enclosures, locks and cameras. When you own an exotic pet, you need to be extra vigilant in their care and security period.

Ummm... Its fine if you appreciate any type of animal. But, an alligator/ snake/ insect, etc is not an emotional support animal. Alligators are extremely dangerous and can kill. And alligators do not grow any type of 'bond' with a human, they only know they are fed. Its possible the alligator is mild mannered that is all. This story gives people the wrong impression that these types of animals can form a bond like a dog or cat.
