- This happened a few months ago on the second week of December of 2022, I didn't even feel like making this to be honest but might as well share the footage. My best and worst day of last year happened to be back to back, i'm glad i'm still here to share this with you guys :) Hope to have my car back soon and have more content coming your way!

Ignorant to do on summer tires
I made the mistake one year of waiting too long to put my winters on and was driving home from work and it started snowing, I went to take a mellow right turn at 10mph and the car just kept going straight, at the last second the back end whipped around and i hit the guardrail. That's how slick some of these summer tyres are.
Like it is actually EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DO THIS!
and this is exactly why i dont like buying used cars

Yeah man, you gotta slow way down and be careful. I drove semi trucks over the road in worse conditions, and black ice is terrifying butt clencher... I'm here in Tucson too, and I had an old friend in a old 5 speed civic went up with some friends, then on the way back down (during summer time) his brakes locked up, and he blacked out and spun the car came mere second from going off the cliff, but just barley hit the gaurd rail and rebounded into the side of the mountain. Totalled his car (which had seen better days already anyways) and he never went back up.
This could've ended extremely bad like that, especially considering the blizzardy conditions on the mountain and low visibility. Lesson well learned, the shots you got, and the scenery really is wonderful, but it's terrifying man. Glad you're safe!
Yeah, the speed he was going at times was just asking for trouble, especially without a good set of winter tires or a Really Proven All season.
Summer tires on a stock VB WRX up in the mountains seems like a very bad idea. Good lesson to be learned here. Stay safe!!
Thats honestly super impressive on subarus part. Summer tires in that condition? Sheesh. woulda been way more fun with snow tires tho

I got Hankook I Cept Evo3 tires on my VB WRX, and I can already tell they handle way better than the summer tires in cold conditions, I was rocking the the stock tires until about a week ago, and there were some mornings that got below freezing where I live, but it took a while for me to get my winters on though because the tire shop was all booked up, now I’m all set for winter with my WRX, and I can’t wait to drive it in the snow.
Ohh thats awesome man! Heck yeah i ditched the summers quite awhile ago, Rocking some all-seasons right now which should do a bit better but i live in the desert so its not really needed.
Using summer tires in the winter, snowing or not, no matter who esle is doing it is extremely dangerous for both you and others on the road. Get some all seasons if you want but anything is better than what youre doing. Its not even saving money as your summers are likely ruined by now anyways. Awd does not make your brakes or traction better. After youre rolling might as well not even matter if you have awd with this setup. Matter of fact might as well throw ur brakes away too doing this.
be safe out there. I use to drive my car in snowing easteren washington and it is beutiful with mountains getting into utah was alot like this during winter..but i always drive straight dont try to do crazy things with steering whelel. Know your limitations .
One time I wasn’t thinking and 8 stopped on an incline full of snow. Once I gave it gas my car slid to the side of the road. Soon both my right tires were in a small ditch. I gunned tiff outta all 4 tires and I got out. I feel like I got lucky. U a brave driver bro. More brave than me. I saw when ur car started to slide and dam. Even my hair stood straight up.

That's too bad dude. Hopefully your car still looks good after the body shop. Snow tires would have ate that snowy road for breakfast. I wouldn't be caught dead driving my WRX in a half inch of snow or even low temps with the stock summer tires. That was a cool video though.

This was a bad idea to try in the first place. Seemed like a lack of planning. Awd does not mean Your car is Good in The Snow. A Good set of Winter tires would have made a huge difference and maybe saved your car. This is not coming from a place of hate it's coming from trying to Educate so we don't make These same mistakes
This was on Mt Lemmon it looks like, we got some snow down here in Tucson which is very unusual, nobody runs winter tires here, only all seasons because it's all you need here.
Even when it snowed a small bit here in tucson early this year, the snow usually remains on the mountain, or in southern/northern AZ. The snow was not enough to justify having to have snow tires either. They also almost always close the roads to Mt Lemmon when the snow hits, and only local traffic who have 4WD trucks or cars with snow tires can go up.
Was that on the stock tires?
Yeah, where I live everyone uses summer tires year round.. and all the snow from the video would’ve melted by the morning.

@@yourdudegabe4291 i went to areas like that i left at night and went on ride over the passes and it was so much things are so cool when u leave civilization. The earth is fantastic place to explore. The mountain air so clean and fresh smelling pine in northern continent.
8 hours of impatience gets you a wrecked car because you couldnt think to put good tires on for snow lmao.
