I like that sheet rinse method. Definitely a time saver. Just applied GYEON Syncro Q2 this weekend after full paint correction

Looks like we set up our Eley the same way. Although, I don't switch to a hose for a "sheet rinse" as I just disconnect the sprayer part (using quick disconnect)

Good stuff. I coated our cars in both Pure Evo and Synchro Evo. I’m interested to see how they go. I couldn’t believe how easy Mohs was to apply. It was almost like a sealant.

The Mohs Evo application is so much nicer than the previous version. A great upgrade.

Foam gun on a garden hose. The pressure washer got out in the back burner due to water restrictions in So Cal as of June 1st. I’ve gone back to rinseless washing

Looks great . I got into the evo line this yr , cancoat, one and mohs , I've done 7 vehicles with mohs thus far over the last 3 months with great results. I've been using wetcoat as a maintenance topper after using bathe . Trying to keep it in family. Question , do you think wetcoat is overkill or could I get away with bathe plus and get away without a topper ? Just wondering. Thanks for the video.

I have not used One yet. I am thinking to give it a try next. I would recommend one or the either between bath plus or wetcoat. You don’t need both. Or switch it up every other month between the two. The beauty of a product like wetcoat is it’s ease of application.

@@MikeGDetailing thank you I was just thinking that if washing it anyway and bathe plus adds some , granted not alot , of protection and skip the topper , ie wetcoat . Good idea at going with wet coat every other or 3rd maintenance wash . Wetcoat is awesome though. Thanks again. Have a great day .

I believe at the time I had Syncro Evo it was the Artdeshine glass coating. These days I am using the Armour Detail Supply Glass Coating a majority of the time.

I bought synchro but after watching your channel I decided not to use skin. I love how slick MOHS is. However I had a hard time leveling it I kept seeing high spots at least I think they were high spots. But I was able to remove it but I cant help but think I left high spots somewhere. We will see it’s currently in the curing phase.

yoooooo mike g, i’ve used diy 3 5 and 8 year coatings, diamond body 36 and ethos graph v2. would you still recommend gyeon’s mohs syn? i really wanna give it a try but i need an extra push, my gf’s new mazda cx 5 needs a polish and coating and i think it’s the perfect candidate, pretty much always driven in town rarely on the highway, so i think any coating would last as long as possible on hers, what do you think👍🏽🐿️💨…and thanks for the videos brotha ✌🏽✌🏽✌🏽

Thanks. Skip Syncro and just use Mohs. From my experience Mohs is the way to go. It is a good coating and user friendly. What I would say is to strongly consider Armour Detail Supply Quartz. By far a better coating than Mohs. If you go with ADS then use my promo code MIKEG to save you some money.

I don’t use acidic products to maintain the coating. It does fine when using CarPro Descale though and a water spot remover. Other than that it is routine maintenance.

What is your personal preference on 2 coats of Mohs vs 1 + Synchro? Also considering CSL + Exo V5. I wonder if Exo V5 would work on top of Mohs, because Exo V5 is supposed to be slick unlike Skin... but that would probably be a science experiment.

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  11 місяців тому +1

Syncro Evo is an upgrade to the previous version. With that said it still fell short for me. I would do two layers of Mohs to have similar durability to Syncro. I personally don’t like Gtechniq coatings. CSL is not that hydrophobic and that is why it has to be topped with Exo. The benefit is Exo is a one layer coating now. If you don’t want to layer then one layer of Mohs and be done.

The old gyeon q2 syncro formula talked about a water contact angle of 120°, so the new evo should revolve around that right?!.
I realize that a coating of 1 year or even 2 years is totally sufficient for a queen of the garage!. My focus RS mk2 which has carpro CQuartz lite, carpro gliss v2 and meguiar's M799 pro hybrid ceramic bead booster for 2 years now, and the coating is a 100% like its first wash 1 week later!!. It's a car that is rarely taken out, never in bad weather, a few kilometers in good weather or for a little contactless washing (because it's never very dirty). A coating for the queens of the garage which could be excellent, meguiar's hybrid paint coating and M799 pro hybrid ceramic bead booster in top coat. That would be totally enough!.
On the last wash I noticed that the new meguiar's ultimate quik detailer was an excellent quik detailer, I tested in one place to see if it would reduce the performance of the coating, and not at all, it remains exactly the same behavior of water, better than if ultimate quik detailer was alone!, just like M799. I loved it 😍 😉 I will now have to test the new meguiar's ultimate quik wax in top coat to see And as a drying aid But the D156 already makes a great drying aid.
Just like the D115 it is an excellent waterless wash but also a quik detailer!. I did a little test on a dark blue Renault laguna 2, very dusty and with fresh water stains, one side D115 4:1 and the other onr 1:16. And honestly the D115 side was perfect, no marring and no more water spots, maybe thanks to its slightly acidic ph (4-5), the ONR side was reasonable but the spots were still there!. So yes the D115 is quite expensive! But regarding the performance it is the best in my eyes!. In addition, it gives a good water-repellent effect even on its own, whereas on a ceramic coating for maintenance, the water-repellent effect is fabulous. That's why I love meguiar's products, even if it passes for the general public I don't care because their pro range is really 👌👍👍👍

A coating lite is perfect for a garage vehicle. The coating is basically a multi year coating as it won’t degrade like a vehicle that is daily driven and sees different climates.

If you are after slickness then Mohs is the answer. Skin is going to take the slickness away but Syncro is going to give you the longest durability.
I recently asked a Gyeon representative as I get asked quite often which to use and this was there response.
Q2 Pure EVO = SiO2 formula, thick and
glossy type of coating, good for daily driver
      with less maintenance, bright colours.
      Q2 Mohs EVO = Fluoro-modified
      polysilazane, slick and highly hydrophobic,
ideal for good maintained vehicle, dark
      colours.

Syncro Evo did much better than the original Syncro. Evo started to have some degradation in hydrophobic performance in certain areas. In my experience it will not last the claimed 5 years. Mohs Evo did better on it's own than being topped with Skin Evo. a much better upgrade than the original but I would just use Mohs Evo by itself.
