What shocks me about this video is how packed the sand looks!🤣🤦🏽♂️ I drive on this beach and have a few shorts and vids on this and it’s always deep, granular, bumpy. I see people get stuck all the time on holiday weekends (probably first timers). Looks like you have wrangler discoverer tires with Kevlar?
I filmed this a while ago, and I can say the conditions have gotten worse over the last year! It’s become so crowded and I see so many people getting stuck now. I think inexperienced people drive on the beach now and tear up the sand.. then get stuck. It’s a nightmare on the weekends!
I take my Tahoe to the OBX all the time. Had several suburbans and a 2500hd Chevy over the years I've taken out there. 4 low is a must if you want your transmission to last a long time, you can run high if you have a transmission temp gauge to see when your tranny is starting to creep over temperature. I don't air down unless I get in deep sand , but I run wider tires on mine than stock.
Looks like a great day to be out on the beach and the Taco looked like it handled it well. The only reason I would maybe air down a little there is just for a little extra cushion on the ride over them ruts! I live near a beach very similar but we cannot drive down ours so it's cool to come along with you and see it.
I hit a beach in longbeach, washington where the sand was super deep and soft. I found 4 high was not effective with traction and lacked torque. Switched it to 4 lo and set my mts to sand. Drives like a tank on the beach. Worries gone out the window. I also didnt air down.
I miss that place. I took my Frontier out there years ago. When I got back to the parking lot a guy came up and asked me what 4wd setting I was in, I told/showed him I did it in 2hi, he yelled at me, told me I was full of it, etc. a very for no reason… but I didn’t let that ruin the awesome day.
I just went out there this weekend, never knew there was another beach in NC to drive on other than the OBX until then lol. Although its a small section of beach it was still nice
Hey Alex, my wife and I were just down there this past weekend. We made the trip from Charlotte NC just for this very drive. Enjoyed your video and am a new subscriber.

@@AlexSAdventures yup!👍🏽🤣
Also a gator that hangs out on the beach ⛱️ nice video. Love my toyota
Do you think a 4x4 Chevy Tahoe can make it on the beach ?
I think as long as you have 4x4 and you air down your tires - you should be ok!

Ugh I hate when people feel the need to ruin other peoples day. I’m glad you still had a fun adventure!

That is awesome !! It is one of my favorites! Thank you for subscribing!! :)
What is the address for the entrance ? Is there a fee ?
Its Fort Fisher, and there is a gate where you scan your pass. I have a yearly pass, I am not sure if you can buy a daily pass
don't worry your in a Toyota!
This is true😂
Not sure what tires you have on your Taco, once you get some new AT/MT on that TACO it changes everything. Sweet ride on the beach :)
