I can't stop listening to this version 🥹 How is it possible that they keep such level of quality 30 years on? (had to share my thoughts again, I have no one who would understand enough lol)

Same ♥️ In real life I mostly found people who do enjoy a few occasional songs from them, but not full albums or more “unusual” tracks. Still, online communities are very much alive and the band seems to have plenty of fans around the world 🥲
Anyway, I'm also impressed at how the quality of their music kept quite consistent through the years (and with a new album every two years or so 🎶).
They had occasional slip ups and not every song can be a timeless masterpiece, but overall they still manage to make good music, and while not everything can be 💯 inspired all the time, after nearly 30 years it's quite impressive. Even the best artists I know seem to lose their edge after the first few albums.

Thanks for sharing. It seems to me that this song and "Don't Think" are two reactions to the surrounding reality. And if "Don't Think" is gibe and sarcasm, then this song is full of disappointment and melancholy. I hope the upcoming album will contain a few more "reaction songs" that comprehend reality, in my opinion that would be very interesting.

Interesting analysis 😀 I feel that Don't Think came across as more careless and light-hearted, but there might be more to it. It was written during the pandemic, Alex's father had just passed away and Alex himself went through a period of depression and anxiety during the lockdown. Also, in spite of Alex's cheerfulness during interviews, there is melancholy in some of his statements, like when he keeps wondering things like, “An expo already? It's been 20+ years since The Magnificent Tree? Am I that old?” (I feel him though 💀 Geez, time flies!) Nothing major, but it's stuff that occasionally pops up these days (which in a way it's totally normal).
Anyway, Mysterious sounded like a good “reality check”, but sadly it won't be included in the record since it was released independently.

@@jsmorales Thank you, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for sharing videos of Hooverphonic performances on your channel.
@HooverphonicAddicted But this happens sometimes: an artist puts ideas into a form that resonates with reality in a completely unexpected way. Such "brilliant coincidences" are manifestations of real talent!
