Oh the 80's...how I long for you.
And the 70s 😊
Would an 80's lucid dream be out of possibility?
Bravo. Sublime version... ! (1979 ! )
Needs more cowbell
Great cover. Absolutely love Supertramp. Please do 'Goodbye Stranger'
I feel like if you ever got into an argument with her she would just look at you with that stare and start singing a cover. Then things would be cool again.
Absolutely no-one can recreate the sax solo as we know it from the original recording. Not even Supertramp themselves can do that Live. It was just uniquely conserved in the studio. So it's perfectly alright that Pomplamoose don't even bother and instead offer their very own version. Absolutely well done.
I hear you, but would it not be amazing to see someone try. This is amazing, but that sound, that past, it's transcendent.
@@Guido1212 Well, everybody's free to try, but I'll stick to my attitude on this matter.
The man that was the muse for this song was the "5th" member of Supertramp by the name of Russel Pope. He was my mentor and band manager. He died a few years back and I miss him greatly. Some songs live forever. This nice reinterpretation of Logical means a whole new group of young people get to enjoy a great song and learn in a roundabout about my friend Russel. Thanks Pomplamoose...
❤️
how can a song be interoperated? a single beat , one sentence means whatever it means to that soul
That song is really straight forward, your mentor should have taught you that RIP
@@musomaster9027 As someone from that culture, your insults to those actually suffering from trauma reduce you to the level of your critique.
@@JelMain sorry mate. I’ve deleted the comment it wasn’t very nice of me. I was trying to be clever pointing out the comment that at the time seemed distasteful. Even on my re-reading it wasn’t a good comment from me. Thanks for your honesty
Une superbe chanson, et votre version est fabuleuse !! 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Votre voix et votre rythme brillent, et toute l'équipe (les musiciens) est fantastique !! 👍👍👍👍👍
I’m super curious how their cover of “Dancing in the Moonlight” would be ♡
Yes!!! I LOVE THAT SONG.
@@Pomplamoose Think about "Break It Down Again"
@@Pomplamoose please do it!!!
Yessssss!
By what artist though? Because there are a lot of different songs called that way. I vote Thin Lizzy's!
A match made in heaven. The Pomplamoose style is the perfect match for Supertramp. Nailed it guys!
Yes great version Nataly and Pomplamoose - here are the lyrics:
When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,
A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the birds in the trees, well, they'd be singing so happily,
Joyfully, playfully watching me.
But then they sent me away to teach me how to be sensible,
Logical, responsible, practical.
And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable,
Clinical, intellectual, cynical.
There are times when all the world's asleep,
The questions run too deep
For such a simple man.
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned?
I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who I am.
Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
Liberal, fanatical, criminal.
Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're acceptable
Respectable, presentable, a vegetable!
At night, when all the world's asleep,
The questions run so deep
For such a simple man.
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned?
I know it sounds absurd
But please tell me who I am.

Agreed
This is done in one the recognised Pomplamoose styles. It is a very enjoyable rendition, very faithful to the spirit of the original. When I saw they had covered this one, I was hoping they were going to use one of their other knowwn styles - the groove funk approach. I was disappointed they didn't do that, but all the same, this was a very fine song.
Came here to make this comment. Perfect.
There's a lesser known song by Supertramp called Downstream that I think is really beautiful. I think Pomplamoose would rock it. The same could be said for From Now On by Supertramp.
Natalie's voice is a crystal drill through space.
Don't ever finish your project, I have a store in Guimaraes Portugal and your music plays a lot and people join the dance floor, it's simply incredible. I love it.
I was 14 or 15 when I first heard this song. It haunted me then, and it still speaks to me now in my fifties!
Thanks for a great interpretation of a classic!
Man, you summed up what I wanted to say. I listened to this song so much when I was a kid. I'm 22 now, so the time difference is not that big, but I almost forgot about it and then YT hits me with this video. It's been a long time since I shared tears of joy because of music, thanks for that. Guess it's time to get out the vinyl record again! :)
A 20 something group of young artists digging out what was some of the most defining songs of who I am now at 58, well, leaves me breathless. And full of tears. Thank you so much.
I just realized the content of the words fully and I heard it a 100 times back in the 70´s. Sometimes we need a retake on things. Thanks for this, It made me speechless . What more musical poetry made in the 70´s deserves attention to layer it upon our contemporary age ? It was ordinary radio pop muscic back then, and now its evolved as a serious comment for our times at hand. Who would have thought
Копайте глубже. В нашем мире очень много скрытых смыслов;)
Song about Pomplamoose music: wonderful, magical, beautiful!
Terrific! Still smiling that Jack wasn't acquainted with this Supertramp song 🙂
Love Roger Hodgson. His music has been a part of my life for more than 40 years. I have to say you guys are doing a great job with his songs.
The original rocked, but DAMN. Pomplamoose made it their own with this cover! Lush vocals, lil bit of funk...Nice spin on it! Needs to be released on top 40 or Alt Nation. It's REALLY THAT damn good!!
Wow, I love the slide guitar in place of the theremin they use in the original, you nailed that part.
Brian Green actually produced this. It was a great call.
If you need one, I'm selling my theremin....
I haven't touched it in years.
@@thefunkosaurus if that wasn't a joke, it definitely could be (punch line on the "touch").
I am one of those weird people who ALWAYS wanted to see Pomplemoose do this song.
It was better than I expected 😭
I'd be honored if some fans of the Pomplamoose style of organic covers would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of IT'S RAINING AGAIN by Supertramp, YOU'RE THE ONLY WOMAN by Ambrosia, and WHAT A FOOL BELIEVES by Michael McDonald on my YT channel in tribute to the great music of the late 70s/early 80s period. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital editing. Peace and stay safe in the '020s.
THis Logical Song and School are the twe Supertramp Songs that teach you more about life then school ever will 😎
Live long and prosper!🖖
Hello Pomplamoose, I'm from Germany and I love the music you make. Please never stop. I get a dose of your music every day that makes my day better. I thank you all for that. love you. and stay healthy.🙏😘
I didn't realize that this was the cover I've been waiting for this whole time.
Supertramp is the most underrated band ever. Such a joy watching talented youngs recreating fantastic songs. Fantastic... You make my day!!!!
Underrated? I lived the 80's and they were on the top
I always saw them as rated nicely. Still seek the music today. Lyrical genius.
No they were not underrated. Think of a better word.
Read Wikipedia, please, thanks you.
Sound quality is top notch.
Love the lush sound. I miss the 80's. But then, I miss 2019.
Released in 79' but I hear you.
I'd love to see a Pomplamoose electro-funk take on "Breakfast in America".
I need it.
“Can we have kippers for breakfast? Mommy dear, mommy dear?”
VERY Impressive! And I'm even from those times! Very good rendition.
my mum used to play the original all the time
now shes gone
but this song reminds me of her - thank you :)
Oh... This brings me back a few decades... I always loved this song, still love it, and you guys did full justice to it! I was humming all the way!
I think that this is your best cover song so far!
The Logical Song was the number 1 song in Canada for 1979. I saw Roger Hodgson in concert a few years ago in Vancouver. He still has it!
Great cover. The purist in me still longs for the clarinet and sax parts. I’m a child of ‘68 and heard this the first time through a hotel wall radio on a family trip; left to watch my sisters while mom and dad went to have a drink at the hotel bar. But I remember the song clearly. (Some pro wrestling was on the tv in the room, but it was on mute.) Anyway… just a memory from my past as I listen to your performance. Good job. 😎
Nice take on a classic. Similar enough to not detract from the greatness of the original but with enough difference to be inspiring to a new audience. Well done with that arrangement.
Being a child of the 80s myself, the way you not just copied the 80s style, but embraced it as if it never went away almost brought tears in my eyes.
Nat & Jack ... isn't it interesting that Supertramp's "The Logical Song" ... which came out in 1979 ... still has so much relevance in 2020 ??? ... Bart
Supertramp is a 70s band
Not a fan of Supertramp, but always liked this song. Like it even more now, because you guys are THE BEST
I love you Pomplamoose
Fantastic rendition
As a big fan of Supertramp and the original version of this song, I do have to say that you guys did a fantastic job with your interpretation of this. Very nice, and thank you so much for sharing this with us.
I LOVE THIS SONG, I gasped when I saw this in my notifs!!! You guys ROCKED IT as always!
Well .. you keep it alive .. the eighties ✨
I listened to this version at least 30 times in the last 24 hours while riding my dirt bike in the Rockies, it makes me very happy. ❤️
Masterpiece. It just heals my mind instantly.
Beautiful adaptation of the original arrangement. Brings focus to the lyric message far more effectively than even the original. Fabulous vocals. Bravo!
I'm from el salvador and I like this music wow I love it congratulations my friend's.good Job.
I was lucky enough to see Supertramp perform this in person. I love this version!
Today I am almost 60 and, somehow, I almost learned that rationality and emotions coexist somewhere inside me, but that was not always so evident, there was a time when there was a crisis of 30. It was then that I dusted off the old Supertramp album (Bon soir Paris ... You know what I mean).
Recording a song like that is not easy. This is one of those songs whose original recording is almost perfect. Singing it very differently will only make it worse. Singing it just imitating Supertramp would only demote you. It's like trying to re-record Billy Holiday or Sing along with Pavarotti. It is almost certain to fail. When I decided to listen to them I was sure I would regret it, but even so I went .....
The keyboard entered (- it's an imitation - I thought). A voice came in, beautiful and different. The perfect diction and a certain softness (- Lack of emotion - I insisted). But then I realized that the emotion that was missing was not hers, it was mine. I am no longer 30 years old and I am no longer in crisis. I listened more carefully, let the music invade my ears and mind. I let the memories invade my thoughts and found everything there where it should be. At the end I found:
I can't believe I'm saying this, but your recording was (better not to say). Do not know. Perhaps.
Fine.
Your recording was even more beautiful than theirs.
OK. I said.
Their recording was a sophisticated take on what is pop canon, but it ENDED TOO SOON. It should have gone on with the rest of it, and it would have have been amazing to see her break out of her controlled vocal state by riffing - in HER way - at the end like the original...
That is the thing about this group, I love their discipline, just like Supertramp's, but Supertramp was about going beyond the discipline into individuality and real creativity.
oh we know believe that ace
everyone blends so powerfully. the vocals give a new atmospheric soul to this complex song!
There are bands that make bad covers
There are bands that make good covers
And there’s Pomplamoose, which makes awesome covers
Guys this was wonderful. I have to say, the addition of the slide on the electric guitar was brilliant. Subtle but brilliant.
One of my favorite songs from the time. Breakfast In America was a fantastic album. This is a wonderful, creative cover, and Nataly seemed to cut loose a bit more than usual with her singing - really going for it - which is an excellent thing! Thank you.
This song ends about 5 minutes too early. I wish I could hear more of that breakdown at the end, beautiful stuff!
my heart.....it's divided across the decades. This beauty takes every emotion and mixes them into tears of pure ecstacy. Utopia exists in music
Bloody well right! I’m 58 and I’ve been listening to Supertramp since high school and you guys did a righteous cover!
Amazing performance of a magical song 🤍 You guys always inspire me to make my music better 🎵🎵
yur music is great too, akom! i subscribed !
Wonderful. Brings so much memories. Wasn't even a big fan, but Breakfast in America is an integral part of the soundtrack of my youth (I was 16), all of my friends seemed to like them, so these songs just got stuck in my brain for ever (but in a good way)
I was also 16 when The Logical Song came out, back in the spring of 1979. I remember the huge impression that it left on me.
Beautiful and with respect to the original.
THIS IS AMAZING OMGGGGG

I miss the 80's as well!
This is a fantastic reinterpretation of "The Logical Song". Whether the saxophone solo has to be included is a matter of opinion. Because the instrumental arrangement has largely been changed here. In my opinion, the sax is not missing at all in this version. Greetings from 🇩🇪
I didn't even notice it was missing!
@@jglasernyc That's an argument, great!
Agree it sounds less disco like that
well said… this version stands strong as it is
Absolutely amazing how you've managed to recreate this classic with so much funk and enchantment!!
Nailed the vocals.
Love it!
Greetings from Costa Rica 🦜
Beautiful job!
You guys should totally do a cover of Limelight by Rush; that would ROCK
After listening to this version of yours over and over again I really enjoy the guitar background music and how it reminds me of the song "Classical Gas". 😀
Oh! My youth! :))
Who is the beautiful back up singer with the angelic voice?! Nataly and the group are fantastic but this back up singer adds so much to the final cut...
We've had a Scooter version, and now a Pomplamoose version. I feel like that's about as far in opposite directions as we can go in terms of aesthetic. Pack it up guys, we're good :3

Holy cow. I don't usually have the highest expectations for covers when I click on them. This cover changes that. That was REALLY good! It has the amount of Supertramp that doesn't drown out what makes the song good. But, you guys added your own things to the song, which made it your own. It's unique. Terrific job!
Hold a min. For a moment I was very worried. I ended up enjoying it very much,. Thank you.
Nice Job!
Such a powerful song in the context of what we're all going through. Beautifully done. It fills my soul to see you all together. Thank you
Ficou linda essa música com vocês!!! Saudações brasileiras.
This cover is beyond of all cover I have listened of Supertramp in my life. Amazing!
i love POMPLAMOOSE
Wow, I literally got chills listening to this. I had to back inside and put some clothes on.
Literally bought new headphones just to hear this better.

Brilliant great fantastic great version.
Beautiful

The groove! I am lying in a hospital bed atm, wired up tomgod knows what. It's as much as I van do to stop myself from getting out of bed and boogying with the nurses
Supertramp "Breakfast in America", 1979. One of the best albums of those time. And Logical Song -- greatest hit by Roger. Thanks to Pomplamoos for the best cover. Nataly -- thanks for your vocals version.
When it comes tight together at 1.23....bravo
This world needs to be blessed with your children, wonder woman!
Enamorado de la voz de la vocalista! Por favor, nunca se acaben.
You magnified it! One of my favorite Supertramp song ...
Great SONG, GREAT Version. Very cool
On the one hand, I'd love to see you in concert. On the other hand, I'd rather see you in a coffee shop while sitting there cozy with some overcomplicated latte.
love the original song and fell in love with this cover
Such an angelical voice. I swear her voice can be so heavenly at times that it makes me want to cry.
Two words. MASTERPIECE. one word.
This song is on my list of favorites-to-cover for a long time 🤗 Wowie, I am sooo delighted to hear a Pomplamoose version!! I am in love ... it’s sooo good!
Another great arrangement. Excellent.
Just wow! Please consider making more Supertramp covers! :) I bet that Supertramp's "School" in your performance would be another hit!
amazing..amazing,simply amazing!
As someone who has seen ST 9 times...own all the records on original vinyl...you guys rock. That has to be one of the best renditions of TLS I have seen. Well done....well done.../salute.
Was waiting for that next higher octave “who I am”...signature Roger Hodgson. Good song choice...fun as always.
This could have been more fun with the next octave. And, stop it with the masks!
Well done from a big Supertramp fan. This should get some serious radio play.
It's amazing how my music taste fits exactly in your covers!
