    Yea, you're all ready! I saw a video about using an Epsom salt soak for a sick/lethargic chicken. She put the sick chicken in the bath for 5 minutes or so, patting the water about to get underneath the feathers. Oh yeah, it was a very warm day. There was tons of comments of people agreeing and they had done that also and sometimes it worked great for whatever was ailing them. Anyhow, I was raised on a farm and I had never heard of this, thought I'd pass it along.

    Hi Liz, Oh, how fun 🐣🐤🐥I hope you'll keep us updated.
    When we were little my Mother bought colored chick's (peeps)at Easter 🐣 Unfortunately, after Easter they went to live on a friend's farm! I think they made it to dinner size.
    Your setup looks simple👍

    We used a box one year, but I found one that was too short. Your box has great sides! My hens were jumping out after about a week. Now we use a cattle trough. Great video Liz. Glad you introduced me to your channel! Just subbed! Rich

      Hey there Rich I am flattered you stopped by and appreciate your comment! Yea I go lucky with that nice thick box. I like your idea using the cattle trough, Cant catch on fire either. Although if i were to raise chicks more often I would also invest in a brooder pad. Crazy how fast they grow!!! Thanks again for stopping by Rich I appreciate your support! ❤️🥰👍 Liz

    Hi there so I have some baby silky chicks and I have them on 30% protein baby chick feed is that good for them or should lower the protein for them?

    • @GardenHappy
      @GardenHappy  21 день тому +2

      Hey there, Bob, thank you for taking the time to visit me. If you are buying “ chick” feed from the animal feed store they always sell what baby chicks need. They do need lots of proteins so if you are feeding them food, specially made for baby chicks, then you are doing the right thing. Usually for the first six months of their life, you feed them that kind of food. When they start laying eggs, that is when you feed them egg laying feed. I hope that helps. Little silkies are so cute. Congratulations on your new flock. And thank you again for your comment. 👍🥰❤️Liz
