I knew you guys were in the ball when I saw the stock tank off the darn floor! Our first year my back was killing me bending over so much. Been using the T/S tank for almost 20 years. I've used the linear feet tray and the same waterer as you. Good luck guys! 👍🐥

Haha it definitely helps the back to have it elevated! Our first year it was on the floor.. never again!

5:11 if the chicks are born in our house (either by the chicken or the incubator) would you still recommend it? I think I've never heard of it so it got me curious
(to be honest I think I've never seen that in the places where we can buy/place an order for chicks that we have here)

Old bathtub. If you have a recycle center near you ask them to set the next tub aside and call you.. You can buy fairly cheap.

Yes, heat lamps are a fire hazard. They started numerous small fires in my parents' house, from falling on their own, or a family pet (cat or dog) knocking them over.

For 3 chicks how large of a container would you recommend?
We are fostering them until they are 8-10 weeks then our friends who already have chickens will have them after that.
    Thank you

That's so sweet of you to do that for your friends! Hmm.. I think you could get away with using a plastic tote but chicks grow really fast! I would try to use something you already have on hand if you just plan to do this once.. If you plan to raise chickies again, I'd suggest investing in something taller and larger!
In this video I show how big the chicks are at about 6-7 weeks: ua-cam.com/video/Nw407aGlCE0/v-deo.html

You can actually mix the chick grit in their feed, they will eat the grit as they need it.

If you are feeding crumbles you dont need grit
