DISCLAIMER: The CV Tech clutch still needs some adjusting to be perfect with the 31s, but we figured we'd film the clutch kit and cvtech as they are out of the box!
Today on Let Dirt Fly, Marshall's 2020 Can-Am Outlander 650 XMR gets a new primary clutch from CV Tech! Previously, Marshall had a stock primary clutch with a Dalton DBO 650 spring and flyweight kit which has worked great up until this point with 28" Cryptids. With the addition of larger 31" tires from System 3, he decided to ditch the spring and weights kit for a complete primary clutch replacement. See the results above in the video!

CV Tech will save you a ton on belts too, when i installed mine i was known as a belt killer in the mud, then bought my cv tech and bam not burning out belts no more.
thanks for the video it was very helpful. I recently got my cv tech clutch but I'm not happy with it and I need some help. there was a drop-down bar when I was purchasing this clutch that was asking what size tires, I selected 29/30's but definitely not working right, I have a 2023 outlander xmr with K&N intake and full HMF Titan Exhaust the bike also is tuned with dyno jet power vision 3 running ATV Terminators 29.5X10X14 on MSA Wheels,
my stall/Engagement went from 1800 stock clutch to 2900 RPM that's way to high and also, I know that the clutch is slipping is not grabbing the belt hard.
when I get on my bike, and I hit the throttle, and the rpm jumps up the bike starts to pull but there is time where I fell the belt slipping cause out of the sudden you can hear the motor RPM spike up a bit then grabs again. my stock was running way better :)
if any of you guys can tell me what weight and spring, I should run I would gladly appreciate
When they won't go in park put it in reverse and bump the throttle and it'll fall right into park. Idk if it aligns the gears or what
Best to clean belt with hot water and dish soap and let air dry. Works really well...
I’ve never been so excited clicking on a UA-cam video hahaha
Haha same
Love the cv tech. Running 32” sludgehammers
CAN I PUT CV TECH SECONDARY OF MY CF MOTO600 to Segway570? Does it also fits like that?
cant wait to see the 650 rip literally the exact set up im planning to do on my 850 very curious too see how those tires perform vs the kryptids
Hoping to have the ride video out Wednesday. She rips hard now! 🤟🏼
Do you know the weight and springs you got with the cvtech? I've got the same. 650xmr with 31s and cvtech. I think 06 weights and 1017 spring, and silver epi secondary spring. Mine originally was setup for different tires, so I've been trying to tune myself. Be nice to compare what some others put as the setup.
If you want even more of a different I would look into a map tune probably get 4-6 more horsepower
The intro with the crunchy music is badass🤘 you guys are doing a Kick-Ass job. I like how you don't do stupid shit for the 👍.l miss the Polaris content though
What is your top speed with the cv-tech
Unfortunately we don’t do any top speed runs. We do more mudding and trail riding. The fastest we can get where we ride is about 30. Not where’s to open up the quads
Which clutch is this and website you use to order/buy it from?
Seth bought his from Peakboys in CA, Marshall went with Griffen performance.
Hey I also bought mine from Peakboys from Yanick but how do you really know when it’s set up right I also have a outlander xt 650 max with 29.5 assassinators I took a chance and put a 1017 spring and 16 gram weights and a white epi spring thanks
@@livelaughlove20ablehow is that set up working for you so far? I have a 650XT MAX and just running stock TerraCross tires but would like something more mud friendly in the future without taxing the 650 engine too much. What set up would you recommend based on your experience?
I definitely like the setup only thing I’ve changed was I dropped the clutch weights to 12 gram weight that helps with sfiftout

Really awesome video bud
So if I have a regular 2018 650XT MAX and I am looking at slightly increasing the tire size for mud riding. Planning on keeping the stock TerraCross tires and size too for trail riding because it’s comfortable and affordable. What’s the set up I should run? Would like some opinions and Asking everyone that runs a similar machine or set up.
So I have a 2022 outlander max xt I’ve went with 29.5 assassinators for the summer months and I run 30 inch itp cryptids for the fall/ winter months especially for ice fishing and you definitely want a cvtech primary clutch and only have to change the secondary spring like a red or white epi spring red more for trail and white for mudding I’m still switching back and forth but kinda leaning towards the white spring but still keep the red just in case so on the cvtech I’m still fine tuning but by dropping the clutch weight lighter it helps with the heavy weight tires to engage and hold the rpm’s up to push through the narly thick mud that you might encounter!! Hope this helps to get you started in the right direction and on a side note I’m getting my ecm tuned too to run smoother and add a few more hp to my machine!

She looks bad ass! Nice work!
Does it wheelie with the 31s?
Yes it still wheelies with 31s
If you stick with stock size tires should I still get the better clutch kit?
It definitely wouldn't hurt. A lot of people run full on STM setups with stock size tires because it'll put the power down much more efficiently and the acceleration will be much stronger
@@LetDirtFly is adding an aftermarket clutch worth it with respect to the power it adds on the stock size tires? Or is it like a slight difference?
I've got a 2021 outlander 650 Xmr, what kind of tune are you running? I was quoted $350 CAD for a reflash and not sure if it's worth it. Also the CVtech is $700 here as well, which is a bit pricy so would a clutch kit suffice? I'm running 26" terracross tires on the can am XT 14" wheels since most of my riding are trails (my friends don't really like mud riding or muskeg lol) the mega mayhems are put on only when I want to play in the mud. Is there any other mods that you recommend? Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated. Thanks!
I’m currently running the atvflashing.com tune in mine. Basically they add some fuel because the quads are very lean from the factory which also helps with cooler running temps and power. And in your case, I think the Dalton DBO650 clutch kit would do more than enough for you. I had great luck with mine. Definitely a tune would be your best mod yet even with a stock exhaust as far as mods go. And for the price, the Dalton kit will give you a lot more power to the ground as well 🤟🏼
@@LetDirtFly thanks dude, found the DBO650 kit for $233 Canadian which isn’t bad. And as for tune, the ECU will be sent out for a reflash in the fall (so I don’t have down time for riding) Asked them to get rid of the lean condition, remove speed limit and raise RPMs. I also like the Titan QS on your 650, it isn’t obnoxiously loud. Are you getting a noticeable power increase with all of it?
Did you clutch ever get louder? Mine is loud at idle.
Mine is still pretty quiet. Much quieter then the stock clutch
how did you get it tuned
Sent the ecu out for a flash.
Are you running a stock secondary spring?
Yes still on the stock spring at the moment.
After u go for a long ride keep a eye on your back tires. I guarantee you that stock fenders will ruin your tires
Trimming them up this week. It was temporary lol
Damn shame you can't send pictures.. I've got a 2021 can am renegade 1000r xxc black and lava red. bitch is BAD!
Привет ‼️ подскажи пожалуйста номер вариатора cvtech ?
Вы собираетесь добавить его в stels gueprad?
Should’ve went STM
The company I purchased from talked me out of STM and said it would be a waste of money for what I’m trying to achieve. The CV Tech works awesome in my opinion for my set up. They recommend the STM for 1000cc high horsepower stuff
