Hi, best wishes from England, love the double bolster cigar shape, wood, spear blade - it's all good and no peak from the tang square end either ! Plus thanks for showing the other two knives alongside. The wood on the TEW looks good too. Your walk around show casing of knives is captivating, you and Jersey should open that shop ! Take care.
Thanks Stone, Best Wishes to you as well. This knife is what a classic gentlemans' knife should be. Classy & efficient. I did forget to mention the recessed tang again didn't I? lol...Take Care Bud ✌️
Hello. The spin around the block is always as enjoyable. Very nice Boker, i always enjoy a nice grained wood. Don't worry, we stick wit' ya as Pete says. All the best.
Thanks Rhino! I love doing the spin around the block! it forces me to rotate, maintain & clean all the different knives in my collection. The set-up & tear down of the display is a bit time consuming, but worth it when I know you guys enjoy seeing the variety. Take Care My Friend 🙏 ✌️
Equal end single jacks are the epitome of a pocket knife to me, they are what I grew up with, this one is a beauty. N690 is a very popular steel in Europe now and I find it excellent the QSP worker is a good example. I like the Lion Steel but it's way behind the other two.
Yeah Chris, the Equal End hits a spot with me too, It has that time honored simplicity that most everyone has seen or owned as a youngster growing up. Mine being the "Cub Scout" knife at a mere age of 8. I wasn't intending on picking fun at the LionSteel, I only had 2 other examples of Desert Ironwood to compare with the Boker & that unfortunately was one, But I do like those modern Barlows. I have the Dom & The Shuffler, with the Roundhead still "on the list".
Thanks Ryan - Boker has been coming out with so many great knives lately, it's impossible to keep up. Which may be a good thing so I don't go broke..lol
Well Steve, you can see I'm slightly behind the "Ironwood" craze too. I really don't consider the LionSteel Dom ironwood, although with that knife I'm not looking for aesthetics - it's my heavy user that I rinse off in the sink & it keeps coming back for more! I probably could put it in the dishwasher too, wouldn't hurt it one bit! Hope you can swing one of these "clubs" soon - you're gonna love it.✌️
I own this one too from Böker, its flawless handmade craftsmanship, its the perfect Gentleman knife, for haptics, weight, blade steel and optics , love it
Just had one delivered today. I’m Impressed with the fit and finish no spring to liner gaps, transitions are smooth. Very happy with my purchase looking forward to carrying it. Thanks for the video.
Congratulations Patrick! This is such a gorgeous knife Boker produced. I've heard nothing but positive feedback from people that have purchased one. Very Good Choice 👍 Thanks for watching!✌️
She walks, she talks, and she looks damn good too. What an awesome knife, that ironwood is great. Thanks for the look at it! Btw that patina you put on the three rivet turned out real nice. Cheers, buddy!
Sweet piece...... I have the same one in the jig bone...... I have that one on the list to complete the 2 blade pair........ but I also do like the jig bone on the one I have it’s real deep jig...... but anyway I have the ironwood on the list to complete the pair!!!!!! Thanks brother!!!!!!
Could you please do an in depth video of the Cigar knives @5:38 , specifically the Pale Cutlery on the far left & the Frederic Herder rosewood in the middle. BTW I got the Boker Club gent in Burlap/01 tool steel
Hi Mad Hatter! I have 2 Pal Cutlery knives, A Equal End 3 blade Cattle Knife & this Equal End 2 blade Jack with the rare "baseball" sheild: ua-cam.com/video/kDYaOLwW0PE/v-deo.html I haven't done a video on the F.Herder yet but it's in the pipeline with about 30 other knives! 😂 I'll try to get it out sooner than later, it's a beautiful knife. The Burlap 01 Gent is a beast! good pick - I went with the Ironwood because the prime's & barlow's didn't offer that. Take Care ✌️
I love the Boker traditional knives. I have the n690 edc and the curly birch Barlow prime (which isn’t a Barlow!?!?) I also got the copperhead in the buckskin bone treatment which is like appaloosa only better. I honestly think it might be my favorite bone dye of all time.
Hi Derek, I've looked at those Buckskin Bone knives only in pictures & I believe it's one of those "pictures don't do it justice" scenarios. I hope to add one to my collection someday soon. Thanks for the heads up on it! As someone who loves Appaloosa bone covers, I'm definitely interested in the Buckskin now! lol So many Boker fans/collectors watch my channel, I see why now! lol Keep'm Sharp My Friend ✌️
That's an elegant knife Rick - the sort you never tire of having in your pocket. Correct me if I'm wrong, but comparing it to the TEW is, I think, a contrast of straight-grain (Boker) with cross-cut (TEW) ironwood. I have two GEC ironwood knives, a #46 (straight-grain) and a #74 (cross-cut), both beautiful in their own way. A similar difference occurs in top-grade briar pipes, with straight-grain and cross-cut both having their devotees.
Thanks David - this is one great EDC - elegant & lightweight with a modern alloy that is super sharp right out of the box! I only have those other two examples of Ironwood to compare this with. I know it wasn't fair to the LionSteel, (a knife I really like, I also have the Shuffler in Ramhorn) & like you said the TEW is a completely different grain altogether, but it's all I had so I went with it. My intention wasn't to make a competition out of it, but I guess it came off like that way🤦. Atb my friend!
Thanks Derek, It's the first "Desert Ironwood" handle I've ever seen that was cross-cut to give it a burl appearance, most Ironwood covers are cut length-wise to show the awesome grain it provides..i.e. the Boker Club
That Cattle Knife is a beauty! I'm slightly disappointed my Club isn't flawless but I'm glad the covers are as nice as they are. You never know until you open the box! lol
I really like this! Lovely pattern and I just love desert ironwood. That’s a perfect Spearpoint blade and N690 is a great steel. I’ve a few knives in it. The Italians use it a lot. I’ve a Böker Barlow in desert ironwood. Again it’s lovely wood, but it’s got a ruddy great shield in the middle of it! TEW just don’t do that.
I like the new shield with the black background - the nickel silver background stands out too much. But like you, I'd prefer all makers to get rid of them altogether. Don't think that will ever happen!!! lol
Thanks OKG! I tried to get this video done like 3 times but the lighting really sucked & I kept aborting the mission 😂 But Thanks again for hanging in there my friend 👍
Lighting looks great . when you pulled out that Boker the light was singing off the sweage perfectly . beautiful knife . I need one . I recently found something that's right up your alley . when it comes in ill throw up a video .
