Hey Rick, sorry just now getting to watch your video (I sent you a reply to your email, things have been kinda busy at my house). Thanks so much for the plug bro, honestly dude you're too kind! I'm just happy you like your hanks and that the defect on the Lumberjack I sent you didn't turn you off to much, like I said there was no way I could in good conscience sell something like that so I'm glad you at least like it as it is. Also I too am a Boker fan, more of their Autos and their more tactical knives and other tools but they're great, I love the Warthog scales you've got there on the SAK in the frame I see, I too love the Warthog/Warhawk livery on stuff, in fact I have the Boker Kalashnikov in the Warhawk theme too! Take care brother and thanks again, you're really too kind!
Thanks Eric, No problem - I completely understand when things get hectic, I always say there's never enough hours in the day. Love the Hanks Brother! Yes, even the Lumberjack - The cool old school plaid negates that little defect. But I'll still want a full size one when you get more done! lol. As you can see by my video's, I'm more of a Traditional knife guy, but have quite a few Moderns, Auto's & Fixed blades too. (2 Boker Autos in the mix). In fact, I think my Boker Black Widow Kalashnikov Auto will look sweet on the Lumberjack! Anyway, I gave you the shout-out because you deserved it - I do it anytime I think someone goes above & beyond the normal business practice of "Thank you for your order, Here's your sh!t" LoL. Take Care Buddy! I'll stay in touch - I see a couple more hanks that are available that I like too!🙏✌️
Oh no Rick, now you've went down the hank rabbit hole. Send them back now before it's too late. It's great you got such good service. I'll check him out. That's a great looking Boker (again).
Thanks Steve, Seeing your pics didn't help!😂 But check out what he's got - He gives some of the proceeds to help his fellow Vets, Really good guy making good Hanks for the cause! Have a great weekend my friend!🙏✌️
Couldn't agree more Ash! It did come dull out of the box, but with some love & care I was able to put a wicked edge on it - This is one of my favorite EDC's - has incredible walk & talk✌️
Thanks Hobbs..I love this knife, it's solid as a rock & snappy - I had the Boker Prime in Curly Birch on my list when this came out.. I'm glad I went for the upgrade to Acid-washed 01Tool steel & Burlap micarta.. This is going to be the beast worker that I can wash my in the sink & the Club Gent will be the "Special Occasion Carry". Here's the kicker - the Prime cost me more than the Gent & equal to the Steam Engine Damascus Hunter on the way! Of course the Hunter was bought at a huge discount. But, It's all good! These Boker's are all fine knives that will last decades. I always say this about top-line knives - you can always get a good return on them if need be. Even with some wear & tear, you'll be able to get at least half of what you paid out. Take Care Buddy!
Thanks James, I'm glad you're getting the same top quality Bokers as me (otherwise you wouldn't be working on your 3rd Boker 😁) They are a little pricey, but the high quality & gorgeous materials gets me every time! I just ordered the Oak handled Barlow yesterday.🤦 If you're interested in the Prime, you can't go wrong, the recessed blade & outstanding blade/spring action make it special...You can hear the walk & talk 40ft away in another room! lol..I was playing with it watching TV & my girlfriend, who was trying to read in the other room, was getting quite annoyed!😂🤣😂 Thanks for watching! Have a great weekend ✌️
always love it when you are doing reviews of Böker knifes! thank you, enjoyed it. one wish, sometimes I really would like if you can keep still overview of the camera when it shows the knife in comparison with others , a little bit longer, yes I know I can stop the video, but I still enjoy the view :) cheers from Germany!
That micarta paired with the finish on that blade makes an awesome combination. I don't own any bokers as of yet, but this one might be my first! Have a great weekend, buddy.
David! That's exactly what I saw, the Acid wash blade really works well with the Black Burlap handle & the satin finish bolster..This thing is tight! one of best put together knives I own..I wish there was a little more texture on the handle, but it's still sweet -. Have good weekend Buddy!🙏✌️
I’m a big Böker fan, but neither burlap micarta, nor stonewash really float my boat. I’ll bet it’s a great knife though. They do pin them together well.
I Know Slick! I like shiny & natural materials too. But it's nice to have a quality worker that has a heavy duty carbon steel blade with virtually no maintenance. You could wash this in the dishwasher if you wanted to. Read my reply to Tony's comment, it kinda tells the story for this Barehead! Not Barlow! 😂 I still have no idea why they call this knife a Barlow
Hey Rick I bought a new GEC from Traditional Pocket Knives it’s the #19 Ratler in blue teal bone,I got it for $105.00 should be here Monday or Tuesday can’t wait.
Larry! You should have had Austin send it to me first so I can do a QC check on it! Of course there wouldn't have been any guarantee that I'd send it back to you!😂🤣😂 You bought the right one - I love those covers
Thanks Shore! He does good work & really reaches out to the customers, best of all - he gives some proceeds back to help his fellow Vets. This Boker is A1 too! Highly recommend.. Have a great weekend Buddy! 🙏✌️
I just found a couple of gems at a local antique store . a Shade made Craftsman "Old Crafty" three blade stockman . basically an old timer without any Shade or Old Timer branding . And a Shrade stockman from the first of stainless razor steel . both are early 70s and in good condition . There is a video of them up on my channel .
Well actually it was 3 yesterday - the Prime is new - but I've done 4 & 5 before ..you ask why? answer : just because 🤔 Same thing with the Key Clump or ordering another hank after telling the dude "All is good - Have a great night". My girl says I always break the rules of normal..but in a good way! ✌️😂
The Boker "Carver" congress is one of my favorite knives Anita, Not only does it have beautiful Rosewood covers, It actually has 4 different blade shapes. Most Congress patterns have just 2 blade shapes mirrored on each side.
Hey Ricky I forgot to tell you!!!!! If your tree is crooked on your knife try to spin it with your thumb!!!!! They are sometimes loose and you can spin it with your thumb stick your thumb on it and press firmly and spin it straight!!!!! Hope it helps!!!!!!
Thanks Pete! I'll give it a try soon as I get home - If it doesn't work, no big deal - this knife is too awesome to let a small deal like that bother me. Should be home around 7:30, can relax & finally watch some videos!
The pocket dump was great and the clump belongs there, it wasn't cluttered to me, because I watched this after the next video I appreciated the recessed tang as well; this boker looks to be so well made. I didn't quite catch the name of the tribe, manitoba ? and the tree you mentioned, crooked tree or cricket tree, I looked up the boker tree but that is a chestnut ?
Check out my Down Range Hank reviews Stone - The pics came out great www.etsy.com/listing/912226005/buffalo-plaid-hank You may have to open the tab for "Reviews" to see both of mine that I sent yesterday. (Rick J.), You'll see the key clump in all of it's glory!😂
The name of the tribe is Ojibwe or Chippewa...same tribe basically - I was looking for a translation for "crooked tree" because the emblem on the knife is slightly tilted to the right. best translation I could find: Maan - malformed Matig - wood MaanMatig 😁 I know I messed up the pronunciation the first couple times. The Chippewa Indians were on this part (where I live) of Michigan Land for centuries. Until the White man kicked them off. We used to find arrowheads just about anywhere we played as kids.
@@Warthogg1 That's a great photo, it came out well and the colours look good. Thanks for showing me the review, was on earlier on his etsy shop thinking about choosing whatI never knew I wanted.
@@Warthogg1 Thanks for going through the tribal origins and I get your choosing of the tree name now MaanMatig, did you keep any of the arrow heads ? I've never heard of the Obijwa-Chippewa before. Your episodes / videos haveso many layers . Am still fascinated by the people who were in Shanghai and the one left for Australa.
lol.. yeah, he's got a wide variety, from Star wars to "Trucker blankets". I did order 1 more, it's called the "English Gentleman"..which is another plaid pattern made out of a Tweed like fabric, so I'm set for now..3 different plaid patterns in 3 different fabrics: Fleece, Flannel & now Tweed.. I'm glad that some of those proceeds will help a few of his fellow service members with disabilities during this Holiday Season.
Nice Boker. I like the looks of the Burlap. (but not on traditionals, for some reason!) I know they call it a Barlow but it really looks like a classic Boy's Knife to me. But yeah, its a beauty. Nice hanks by the way.
Your guess is as good as mine on why they continue to call this pattern a barlow Tobias. Especially when they have an actual barlow pattern available. I've always preferred natural materials on traditionals, but I've warmed up to micarta, the turning point was the black & blue micarta on the RR work knife, then the blue denim micarta on the RRR EZ open knife. I really like this black burlap because it offsets the dark acid washed blade.
I gotta catch up to ya Brother! Tomorrow I have the day off so look for me!✌️ lol, I'm still trying to catch up on my replies to my last video. I'm wit ya!
Howdy, thanks for the vid. I'm looking at this exact knife and wondered how you've found the O-1 with regular use? I use all my knives but typically I dont have folders with tool steel. Does the acid wash help prevent rust do you think?
Hi NB, I do love the traditional barlows with a sweet clip point, but that Prime has some beautiful action..you can hear the walk & talk proudly, especially when opening it. And the very well designed spearpoint blade is 80% recessed. The Prime also has a sweet streamlined & efficient look to it. Not to mention the blade is 01 tool steel. Yeah...I like the Prime best as an EDC user. The Expedition & Castleburg traditional barlows are very cool knives though.😂
Thanks good video I wont out and got the Boker club after this video it’s a lovely we knife a but more subtle and gentlemen hoip Oll is well for c samby / Drambo West Coast to Scotland 🏴

I can respect that - I prefer everything shiny, but If you're gonna do a dark acid washed blade then you have to do a dark handle. Just my way of seeing it. I think in that sense it works, If the handle was a light Olive wood or Birch, I wouldn't have hit the "confirm purchase" tab. And it is nice that you don't have constantly wipe off fingerprints!✌️😂
