So glad to see you playing this! I've been working on it for over five years as English Localization dude and tester. It's a wonderful game!
Also, remember that you steer your own course in this game. You don't have to let the TO-DO list dictate all your actions. It's a good guideline to fall back on if you ever feel aimless of course and is especially valuable at the beginning while you are finding your feet. But it is not a list of objectives that must be completed, nor will following the list religiously guarantee the "good" ending. Well, that being said, I think any ending is a "good" ending and even the "bad" ones are actually closer to the outcome of most of Lovecraft's tales... hehehe.
It's not a game you have to "win" to have fun with and, I would even go so far as to say that not "winning" can provide some of the... juicer content. After all, Lovecraft wouldn't have been Lovecraft if all the stories had a happy end.
Best of luck! We expect great things from you here at Miskatonic U.

Thanks! You've provided a lot of useful tips how to get the most out of the game. :)

When you thought you turned up the volume you actually turned up the dialog speed. Also, don't forget to use right-click to look at stuff instead of left-click to interact every time. Some of the things you were wondering about, like the window in the house being yours or not, or wanting to examine the diorama of the university in the library closer, are explained if you right-click to look at them. Also useful for examining things in your inventory.
Using this look function is pretty vital to playing the game.

I've been playing myself. This game is super addictive. Has me on the edge of my seat. Bravo to the developers!

The game was made by one guy (the scripts, animation, graphics, programming etc.) and it took him seven years to make this game. And ManDevil from the comment section here worked on the proofreading and text editing. And two other guys made the soundtrack and sound effects.
It's quite an achievement indeed for one guy to make a game like this by himself (for the most part).

@@Siperos Absolutely! I've had some minor exposure to the game dev industry, so I can really appreciate how difficult balancing an interactive narrative simulation must have been, and the attention to detail that was put into this. The pace feels right and the creator made good use of the limited budget / scope he had.
