I think the biggest reason why a castle wars is on a higher level than any other PVP scenario in the game is because it's more skill based than typical PVP situations and is less reliant on RNG but the list goes on and on
If you bring true max mage (3rd age ammy) and constantly catch freezes on them..they will go Hella out of their way to try and get your ip to none stop ddos you..found this out about a year ago for myself...haven't been back
Tbh this is really sad. Like he mentioned they gain nothing in game from this other than to feel good having an edge on other players. No job, no education, no ambition, no aspirations to get married or have kids. Such a sad existence if you really think about it

Some solutions. 1-No players under level 50 can join a Castlewars game. 2-Players must have at least ten quests completed to join a Castlewars game. 3-Put an outline around barricades that shows what team it belongs to. 4-AFK players either by not moving or not engaging with players and mechanics get kicked after thirty seconds and replaced by a player waiting in the team's lobby. 5-Teams have to designate who is allowed to remove their flag from their castle. 6-Players that get kicked from a game three times will have a forty eight hours ban from joining a team.
As someone who plays a lot of cwars on my pure, the solution a lot of other pures have come up with would be the same restrictions as LMS along with the level and gear balancing. Make everyone the same level and give them specific gear setup choices. Everyone is on even terms like that. Random team shuffling would also heavily reduce the team stacking. This stuff is discussed all the time, there are a lot of players who want to play cwars, but these clans and griefers just make it impossible. That’s why not only is half your team afk, it’s not just people wasting space, but because there is no fun in playing. Above the ladder will be like 6-8 people, and within them are legit players but they’re viewing it as a grind to get the tickets because it’s not a fun game for them to play.

You could have the best balanced minigame in the history of MMORPGs but if they get ruined by cheaters, it really doesn't matter. But I have to disagree on the random team shuffling for the reason that people go into one portal or the other because they want to be on that team because blue represents Saradomin and Red Zamorak. People are going to get pissed if they are put on the team they absolutely don't want to be on. And honestly, I don't see clans being an issue for the game, it's only when it's a clan of hackers/cheaters that it actually is an issue. Take my suggestions to fix the game to eliminate or at least severely hamper hackers/cheaters and you'll have a much more fun game people will play to play and not just for the tickets. Once the hackers/cheaters thing is fixed, we can focus on making improvements to the gameplay loop itself to make it more fun. I have a few ideas for that too. Basically, instance the Castle Wars minigame and having multiple games going at once and make sure every team represents one of the gods. Saradomin, Zamorak, Zaros, Bandos, Armadyl and Guthix by giving players not only that god's color as the team color but the flag has that god's symbol and their armor is designed to be for followers of that god. After all, not everyone follows either Saradomin or Zamorak. But since Guthixians are followers of the god of balance, we could be taken as needed to fill other teams so that the numbers remain balanced. This of course would require the Castle Wars area to be enlarged to accommodate more portals which is the perfect opportunity to split the lobby into two sections: Individuals and Clans. The clans section would have an NPC to challenge a specific clan and a portal for clans that don't care what clan they face off against, pitting them against random clans. Anyways, that's just off the top of my head.

Something to add - An additional method of sabotaging our antagonist used is/was methods of preventing CWers from logging in entirely. DDoSing was the method a few years back. Nowadays is the spam-login method, most commonly seen used on Woox's account. Our antagonist pays these spam-logging services to prevent CWers from playing runescape altogether. It still happens to this day.

I mean I played from classic - 08 and I just remember in like 06-08 castle wars was the place to go to have a great time. It was one of the most fun and social aspects of the game. Really a shame to see this happening
why don't they just randomize the teams and make some kind of activity bar similar to pest control for barricades. if you haven't done enough damage or tried to score recently then can't place more than 2 barricades or something per player
One thing that could help is to put a level minimum on the official worlds. Make it minimum combat 70 to join. Below that it people would probably not be very useful to the team anyways and it would make it a way harder to stack teams / the accounts aren't throwaway anymore if they get banned. At the same time keep it uncapped for unofficial worlds for the lower combat clans that want to play or maybe make a capped and an uncapped official world.
Jagex just needs to spend some extra time and monitor when this stuff happens, and once they figure out the players that are doing this they need to just ban them from castle wars only. They could do this in a matter of days.
I used to help and had a high rank in a clan that ran soul wars release back in old runescape. We had the biggest soul wars clan in runescape and our games were being spoiled by max main accounts. I can't remember the max main account clan name. But I ran my clan under V0p the leader Miley Cyruus. We ran that clan to get players zeals for their accounts. We used to infiltrate their clan with mains to get the call which side they joined zammy or Sara. They did moves before the game started to switch sides. They eventually banned our mains. We still ran our clan and got 95 percent calls right to maximize the amount of zeal you can get an hour (9 zeal). How? I had no main but called the games 98 percent right calls running the chat. Because I ran this clan with my friend Miley Cyruus who also was an eop member (we were pures coming from world 32 making soul wars f2p accounts). Well you contact me I'll tell you the entire story of the soul wars clan back in the day. :)
It's nice that you bring the CWs problems to light and get more eyes on the sabo topic. Ideally in your next video you talk about the positives of the community. Your video gives off the impression that there are no clans/teams/people combating the sabo's on a daily basis. The games are pretty balanced because once one team sabos - both teams sabo. This hurts my heart. I was active when castle wars was formed and it was really just a fantastically fun time. It was easy to spend countless hours there, making friends and just enjoying something different than the normal RS grind. I hate to see that it has been ruined for no reason. Truly hate to see where runescape has come.
If that kid would have worked 15 hrs a day at 15 bucks an hour for the past 10 years he would have made 821 grand. And instead he has no money, and is probably very heavy.

It baffles me that they don't take more action. If I ever had a job at jagex I would be a ban hammer, but do it within bounds. Monitor the clans that has said reputation, monitor games and make lists. Not ban instantly, but do ban waves. Gotta gather as many as possible to do so before they catch on and change the ways in which they throw. I know banning accounts is bad, but they should implement account bans for Mini Games if thats too far. Violating in certain degrees could warrant a 24h ban with different tiers up to perma ban. The important part is to not just insta ban, but build cases to see if it's enough to perma ban from the mini games. Report functions wouldn't function cause we see it abused in every game, so this would require the community mods (i think there is something like this) is appointed to the right people, who then mark down people. These have to be trusted, and abuse of this will have severe consequences. They already work in the pve element, and a guy I played with was. The same can go for gold sales. Is it not their best interest to have a anti-cheat/grief/black market team? Their losing money and losing consumers based on the actions these players are taking, and their gaining. The investors must be blind to not have seen this, and fund a bit more into the game to make this happen. Their already making a bunch, so whats throwing 10% of the interest back into the game to properly make it flourish? Runescape is among the most loved and most nostalgic games out there. And with the recent launch on steam, they have the potential to grow their player base even further. They can turn those 10% into something more if numbers are all they care for, so why just sit and take the L? :(

I played clan wars 15 years ago... tons of level 25-75s, few 100-120+s, it was actually competitive. A few days ago I tried and it was completely one sided with 126s doing nothing but 20++++ hits

It’s actually easy to implement relevant updates to the minigame. Each problem you addressed can be definitely fixed. Jagex just needs to address this. But they will only give priority to this if this is a big enough of a concern to the community as a whole.
I still play rs mobile. I stopped playing castle wars out of spite I think. I'd rather hold on to the good memories then play it and realize how bad it's changed. I used to play cw a ton, I played since release actually. Played from release to 2009, lost account to hacking. Came back in 2011, played it again mostly non stop, even got really good at it and sunk millions into runes, bolts and gear charge. Haven’t seen anyone play it in rs3 where I play though, I mean real play and seeing it come back a bit in old school almost makes me want to play it. But this is pretty sad. My cw group was w52 tunnel loafers where both sides meet underground and form a community of afk gameplay and fighting both sides but not each other. Probably the very first form of leeching but we didn’t do it for tickets but to chat and more often then not we removed a lot of talent from the game and could easily stack teams when we felt like playing. Was really fun crew.

I mean I played from classic - 08 and I just remember in like 06-08 castle wars was the place to go to have a great time. It was one of the most fun and social aspects of the game. Really a shame to see this happening
why don't they just randomize the teams and make some kind of activity bar similar to pest control for barricades. if you haven't done enough damage or tried to score recently then can't place more than 2 barricades or something per player

One thing that could help is to put a level minimum on the official worlds. Make it minimum combat 70 to join. Below that it people would probably not be very useful to the team anyways and it would make it a way harder to stack teams / the accounts aren't throwaway anymore if they get banned. At the same time keep it uncapped for unofficial worlds for the lower combat clans that want to play or maybe make a capped and an uncapped official world.
Jagex just needs to spend some extra time and monitor when this stuff happens, and once they figure out the players that are doing this they need to just ban them from castle wars only. They could do this in a matter of days.
I used to help and had a high rank in a clan that ran soul wars release back in old runescape. We had the biggest soul wars clan in runescape and our games were being spoiled by max main accounts. I can't remember the max main account clan name. But I ran my clan under V0p the leader Miley Cyruus. We ran that clan to get players zeals for their accounts. We used to infiltrate their clan with mains to get the call which side they joined zammy or Sara. They did moves before the game started to switch sides. They eventually banned our mains. We still ran our clan and got 95 percent calls right to maximize the amount of zeal you can get an hour (9 zeal). How? I had no main but called the games 98 percent right calls running the chat. Because I ran this clan with my friend Miley Cyruus who also was an eop member (we were pures coming from world 32 making soul wars f2p accounts). Well you contact me I'll tell you the entire story of the soul wars clan back in the day. :)
It's nice that you bring the CWs problems to light and get more eyes on the sabo topic. Ideally in your next video you talk about the positives of the community. Your video gives off the impression that there are no clans/teams/people combating the sabo's on a daily basis. The games are pretty balanced because once one team sabos - both teams sabo. At that point neither team is at an advantage over the other.

This hurts my heart. I was active when castle wars was formed and it was really just a fantastically fun time. It was easy to spend countless hours there, making friends and just enjoying something different than the normal RS grind. I hate to see that it has been ruined for no reason. Truly hate to see where runescape has come.

It baffles me that they don't take more action. If I ever had a job at jagex I would be a ban hammer, but do it within bounds. Monitor the clans that has said reputation, monitor games and make lists. Not ban instantly, but do ban waves. Gotta gather as many as possible to do so before they catch on and change the ways in which they throw. I know banning accounts is bad, but they should implement account bans for Mini Games if thats too far. Violating in certain degrees could warrant a 24h ban with different tiers up to perma ban. The important part is to not just insta ban, but build cases to see if it's enough to perma ban from the mini games. Report functions wouldn't function cause we see it abused in every game, so this would require the community mods (i think there is something like this) is appointed to the right people, who then mark down people. These have to be trusted, and abuse of this will have severe consequences. They already work in the pve element, and a guy I played with was. The same can go for gold sales. Is it not their best interest to have a anti-cheat/grief/black market team? Their losing money and losing consumers based on the actions these players are taking, and their gaining. The investors must be blind to not have seen this, and fund a bit more into the game to make this happen. Their already making a bunch, so whats throwing 10% of the interest back into the game to properly make it flourish? Runescape is among the most loved and most nostalgic games out there. And with the recent launch on steam, they have the potential to grow their player base even further. They can turn those 10% into something more if numbers are all they care for, so why just sit and take the L? :(

That guy "duno" is still doing it to this day lol, he now goes by the rsn "Snipe", he has 6 or 7 100+ combat alts and puts them on one team for his small clan to stack one side, if they lose, he sabotages the other team
I played clan wars 15 years ago... tons of level 25-75s, few 100-120+s, it was actually competitive. A few days ago I tried and it was completely one sided with 126s doing nothing but 20++++ hits

It’s actually easy to implement relevant updates to the minigame. Each problem you addressed can be definitely fixed. Jagex just needs to address this. But they will only give priority to this if this is a big enough of a concern to the community as a whole.
I still play rs mobile. I stopped playing castle wars out of spite I think. I'd rather hold on to the good memories then play it and realize how bad it's changed. I used to play cw a ton, I played since release actually. Played from release to 2009, lost account to hacking. Came back in 2011, played it again mostly non stop, even got really good at it and sunk millions into runes, bolts and gear charge. Haven’t seen anyone play it in rs3 where I play though, I mean real play and seeing it come back a bit in old school almost makes me want to play it. But this is pretty sad.
My cw group was w52 tunnel loafers where both sides meet underground and form a community of afk gameplay and fighting both sides but not each other. Probably the very first form of leeching but we didn’t do it for tickets but to chat and more often then not we removed a lot of talent from the game and could easily stack teams when we felt like playing. Was really fun crew.

Perhaps implementing a minimum combat level requirement would combat the level 3 alt stacking.

This is also happening in f2p. The teams are stacked and they're maxed mains, I almost won scored a point and no one on my team helped I tanked all the way to my base and then someone stole the flag and we couldn't score a point.
