no it's stupid to give these guys 210 years, maybe not Graham because he actually didn't hack anything,he just scammed, but actually good teen hackers should be given 6 years probation and a choice 200 more years or to work for security services. Russia and China does this, you will never hear of a Russian kid going to jail over this(Russia actually has a law where max sentence is 20 years unless you killed or raped someone, then it's till death),they all end up working for the gov, they don't even jail these hackers in China, they work with them, why does America waste these kids lives if they can reeducate them and give them a good future and a career? Majority of hackers aren't even hacking for money, they are just curious. Americans don't realize that their jail system is the most oppressive, for instance a Russian fsb secret service gave nuclear data to MI6 and served 6 years and was traded and lives in London now. This guy gave away secret nuclear reaction data that endangered all the world and got 6 years. Assange for releasing US soldier secret videotapes gets 300 years. In Russia same activist who admitted for getting 200 bitcoin from the western secret services got 12 years and probably will be released early for good behavior.Spies and criminals in Russia get max 12 years,a basic scammer in America 200.

I’m a bit late, but as someone who used to be in the pvp and hcf mc community around 2016, i can say you explained very well how it works, and it was a niche community at the time. So good job and good video!
Wow that's crazy I used to be in the HCF community and I definitely remember the name Open. Also props, you got everything exactly right regarding how the HCF community was.
That community was honestly bottom of the barrel. Just filled with a bunch of teenagers who could do whatever they wanted with little to no punishment.
I watch these types of videos and realize that as a social outcast growing up, I'm glad I never found these groups online and went down the wrong path. Shoutout to AlmostSmart Forums for helping me develop into the adult I am today. Because I could have turned out to be a really fucked up person.
Those teenagers became the most powerful people on the internet for a few hours and the best idea they could come up with is a bit coin scam. They really were just children
Lmao my thoughts exactly 😂 incredibly impressive, they could have literally collapsed the global market or political scene, but instead that’s all they did
As an HCF player, it was one of the most toxic gaming communities I have ever seen. Cheaters, DDoS attacks and swatting basically destroyed the entire community and popular servers multiple times.
Yeah definitely. I used to play a ton of factions when I was younger and that was the foundation of the game to lie, cheat, and steal. Gain peoples trust and once they log off steal all of their stuff hahaha but yeah it was definitely an absolutely toxic environment. Although I will admit I did have a hack client but I would mainly only use X-Ray.

Imagine being locked away for 6 years but having millions..... but you get out on parole and have to be good with millions in the bank or you go back to jail for another 10 years.
Wow…. Just wow… I went into this thinking I’d skip around, get the relevant data and then move on to the next video but instead I watched the whole thing from start to finish completely transfixed. This was beautifully laid out and formed into a compelling narrative. I’ve never had more than 5 figures to my name at any point in my life but I’d never trade my life for the kind of shallow horror show that these people are living. I have a lot of people that love me and enough money to live off of. That’s better than having too much money, no real friends, and a prison sentence facing you. This was really well put together and I look forward to your future work.
It's amazing the amount of comments along the lines of "I was so surprised to watch the whole thing instead of just skipping around to get the main info." Gamers are not readers, that's for damn sure. They just don't get it.
This was an incredibly detailed and engaging analysis! You seriously have potential in this genre of entertainment and I hope to see more videos like this coming from you soon 🤞🏾
@@BorshigiI'm mostly educated, shocked, pissed off, maybe inspired. Not entertained with this type of documentary content. It's weird people consider this kind of stuff primarily entertainment. It's not fiction, music, or art. You could argue the semantics of it but I think the distinction exists in the real world and the voyeuristic approach isn't good.
@@electrosonicnebula lol I was just getting a quick 300 movie quote in, but it's old now so I thought people might not recognise. Anyway I wouldn't consider this traditional entertainment either, but I don't think there's anything voyeuristic about it. I'm not enjoying watching people get scammed by these kids, and I'm sure the majority don't either. I just find it fascinating that this kid could be this smart and this dumb in real life. It's like a comedy movie plot, with no actors or directors. It's just happening naturally. Sounds like entertainment to me. I mean video games and movies have much darker tones so I don't really see why it's bad to find this entertaining. Or is it the fact it's real life that you have a problem with?
@@Borshigi Ah ok I didn't get the quote. I heard about 300, any good? I still think there's something inherently voyeuristic in all of us, maybe to be aware of and keep in check. Obviously I also feel that fascination as I watch this video and I'm strangely unable to leave, to the point of watching it at 1.5 speed as I'm supposed to be working for example. I'm also thinking a lot of people are watching it mostly like they'd watch a football game, as pure entertainment, and so yes, to answer your question, I guess if it's real life you should watch it maybe differently. Essentially this touches on how we (should) consume violence and depictions of wrongdoing and for what reason, whether it's too much, whether it's necessary sublimation, whether there's a problem with desensitization and all that jazz. I also got the impression from the comments that people were being mostly voyeuristic, because the comments were all pretty extreme in either support or condemnation of the mega scammer. I was on the side of thinking he was a psycho, and I wondered if we are manufacturing more psychos than before although we manufactured some real potent psychos in the past. I thought his obviously reactionary parents were also part of the manufacturing process. I thought psychos were supposed to be rare and born that way. As a disclaimer I should say my understanding of the gaming world per se is limited: did it lead to the Kardashians, "Barbiecore" and, ultimately, imminent thermonuclear destruction? Haha

This is the dark side of things, I got interested in programming by the AlterIW COD servers where they reverse engineered the game to run on dedicated servers. I spent countless hours teaching myself how these processes worked and got really good at it. During these times I would also get an interest in RAT's, encryption flaws, credential stuffing and session hijacking. If I would've applied any of these techniques on real world applications I could very well be in the same position as Graham. Today I am a white hat senior software engineer where the skills I learned in this niche market are still extremely valuable. My point in this is that it all comes down to environment and the choices you make. I've been offered insane amounts of cash as a 20 year old to apply my knowledge for malicious activity but was sane enough to not entertain it.

Letting people off with serious charges isn't giving them a second chance, it's helping them to continue their behavior.
no it's stupid to give these guys 210 years, maybe not Graham because he actually didn't hack anything,he just scammed, but actually good teen hackers should be given 6 years probation and a choice 200 more years or to work for security services.

Since when are investigative documentaries freakin' "entertainment"? Discovery Channel generation...
@@electrosonicnebula Are you not entertained?!?!?!
Haha
