The wonders of nature! I planted my philodendron and Monstera outside and they just took off and became Giants. that tree is fabulous and supports so many other plants. “ I think that I should never see a poem as lovely as a tree…. Poems are made by fools like me, but only God can make a tree” Joyce Kilmer
I plant do start several of my Philodendrons growing outside this summer. I'm going to leave them permanently and let them do what they do. I love a natural display of plants.
Wow, I didn't know that.
Thanks for watching.

LOL, I can't stand them, which is why they seem to seek me out. Something about them just freaks me out. 🙂
So interesting, Peggy! Those outside Philos are gorgeous!
Thanks Sheila! Stay well!
I was making the same mistake of planting too deep. When I uncovered the trunk of my gloriosum I found a 3-4" long cataphyl trying to push its way out!! Thanks for these tips. Love your channel!!
Glad you found the information useful Tiffany. In the last 6 months, I have repotted most of my Philos and they seem to be happier. I'm seeing much more new growth. Enjoy your Gloriosum!
Hi Peggy! I love the garden 🥰 and Beautiful nature 🌿🌲Thank you for sharing!
You are so welcome!
Great video I’m a new house plant collector and found two philodendron plants. I have been researching about its care, but being able see how it grows in the wild is very informal , thanks
Glad it was helpful and thanks for watching!
Love this info thank you! I just inherented a 50 plus yr old selloum interior plant that needs repotted. I know what I'm doing tomorrow finally 🤗☺
I've watched hours of videos and everyone has something to offer, it's amazing. Thanks again and Blessings ❤
Enjoy your newly acquired selloum and best of luck with the repotting. Happy growing!
@@PeggysPlants she made it thru the repotting and has new leaves 🤗🙏
I’m in love with your garden!!!
I loved that garden. I really miss it now that I've moved to central Florida.
My neighbors have a huge philodendron growing outside in their back yard in Oakland California. It’s an incredible plant. It’s really dry here most of the year, and yet that plant is absolutely massive.
Exactly! That's why I love seeing plants grow outdoors with minimal intervention. It shows us exactly what the plants really need and explains why some of my plants die from too much "love". 🌿💚
I love your garden and your videos! Thanks!
Thank you so much for watching.
Loved this video. Those philodendrons are so impressive!
Thanks so much!
I'm so glad you participated in the Black Plant-tuber video thingy. I'm happy to be watching all these videos of your. Thank you so much for all this great info!

Thanks Peggy!
You are so welcome!
i always love seeing philodendrons growing on trees and outside, as someone who lives in the deserts of california im very jealous lol
I'm hoping to mount several of mine on trees once the weather is warm. They seem so much happier outdoors!

Fantastic video. Real nature experience. I hear a lot of these things but you literally showed me. Very insightful.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
Wow! This information was very interesting and informative. I have a tiny little Brazil that is doing poorly. I've got to take better care of her and re-pot her in the correct soil. Thanks Peggy. You're great.
Glad it was helpful!
Lucky to have that in your back yard. I’m jealous.
I've recently moved and no longer have it in my back yard. I'm jealous too!

Excellent video! I love your outdoor space. I appreciate the way you learned from the outside to bring inside. I will try to heed some of this advice as I am starting to acquire more philodendrons.

Thank you so much for your video!!! I gained so much knowledge through out the 10:21 minutes! (Which happens to be my birthday! XD)
Lol, that’s why I made the video that exact length!😁 I’m pleased you found the video helpful.
Thank you Peggy for such an informative video. I learned quite a bit about philodendrons that I didn’t know. I love tropical plants, but can only grow them outdoors during summer months.
I'm pleased you found the video informative. I've moved from the Keys and now grow most of my plants indoors also. It has been quite an adjustment! Thanks for watching.
I love ur channel so much so homey 🥰
Thank you so much 🤗
Just got my first two philodendrons yesterday. Two very large Brasils I’m going to hang in front of two windows for a bit of privacy.
I have two Brazils as well and love them. They are fast growers trail beautifully. Enjoy your new plants!
amaze balls!
what's the lizard at 2:22?
I try to keep my distance from the lizards and don't know much about them. They freak me out. 😳 I think it is an Anole lizard.
Thank you for the informative and beautiful content, Peggy! I can’t wait to pot up my little philos in this new way. Stay well!
I'm glad you found it informative. Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much! 💚🌿
You are so welcome!💚🌿
So helpful
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching!
Very nice
Thank you!
Love this Peggy, I can’t believe that the philo hope grows out of trees, that is so amazing🤩would that make them epiphytic?
Yes Florida is humid enough to keep those babies happy😂🥰like a rainforest and in august wow. I die every time I go down to Wellington to visit family, this NYer is not used to it😍
Be well and safe Peggy, and your shirt is adorable btw, I will check the company.💚the shirts look so soft too.
Your voice is so relaxing you can voice over documentaries🙌
Hello Elizabeth, thanks for watching. I was thinking the same thing, but couldn't find anything that referred to them as epiphytic. This may be because they are parasitic and get nutrients from the tree. I really don't know for certain. Sometimes the more you learn, the less you know! 🤔
Peggy yw
I am trying to find a really good reference book on hoyas and philodendrons. The internet is a great source but I feel a book would really do into depth. This was a very interesting subject. I’m wondering will the tree die due to the nutrients being taken from it?
Epiphytic means that they don’t get nutrients from the tree. It lays on top of he tree, from what I understand bout it. I’m trying to learn more bout my tree philodendron to see if I can take it out and replant it somewhere else in my yard or put it in a pot.
I love your videos. You inspire and motivate me to keep making more videos. Support and gratitude to you. You got a new Subbie. 💕
Thank you so much and welcome to the family!
Very helpful, thank you!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
I took a leaf off from the floor of home depot I propagated it it looks like some type of philodendron but variegated
Hopefully you will be able to figure out what it is. Thanks for watching.
Love your videos, thank you so much I can gruels learn a lot from it. Also can anyone tell me what animal was there on the tree ? Minute 2:20 to 2:23 on the lower right side of the screen
it's a lizard. They are everywhere. I don't know the specific name.
Veryhelpful
Glad you think so! Thanks for watching.
Thank you thank you very interesting 😊 can u help me with my philodendron billietiae it's not doing anything I've had it for a year it put out two leaves one yellowed and it seems stuck ,i put it outside hoping something will happen 😅 be safe.
Hello Carol, I don't have a Billietiae but I have many philodendrons. When mine aren't doing anything I make some changes one at a time. First, I check to make sure it isn't root bound and has no pests. Additional things to check: correct lighting, fertilze, need for new soil, and watering habits. Rather than do everything at once, I would make one or two corrections at a time as not to shock the plant. Normally, the problem will be in one of these areas. Hope that helps.
Well said
You were gardening in USDA zone 11, that's already frost free all year around.
Yes, it is.
I remember your hubby cutting some off the tree..
You have a better memory than I do. I just remember the pothos he picked from the woods. LOL
Peggy's Tropical Garden maybe that was it
2:21 Peggy what's that little cute animal?
It's a little lizard. I don't like them and they are everywhere here. I don't even notice them anymore. LOL
Can you also do this with pothos I have pothos growing wild.
I potted a wild pothos and let it continue to grow outside and I'm working on another video of a wild pothos I rooted indoors and potted. Here is a link to the first one ua-cam.com/video/VQunsGP4ZAc/v-deo.html
I wonder if your aroid on the tree and on the ground might be Philodendron radiatum or some other more "vining" variety.
I've been told it is a radiatum. Thanks for the ID assist!
I'm going to repot my plant. I think I need to to change the soil and go with a terra cotta pot 🤔
Sometimes a repot can make all of the difference. Best of luck!
Did anyone notice the butterfly waving at 2:23
LOL, how observant! Thanks for watching.
This isn’t a “philodendron hope”. The philodendron hope is actually a thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum. This looks like a true philodendron and it may be a philodendron radiatum. Beautiful plant!
Thank you for the ID assist!
Hi Peggy....can I make a suggestion. When you talk look at the camera or at least where you would see us. It's distracting when you look to your right. I love your tropical garden. I can relate, since I live near Tampa. Always look forward to your new post!
Thanks for the tip
Can you propagate just from a leaf cutting on a philodendron split leaf?
You'd need to make sure you have a node on the attached stem.
Peggy, you look so beautiful. I haven’t been watching videos for about a year now. But you popped up and my first thought was you haven’t aged. You look even younger. How do you do that?
All I can say is, bless your heart! I would have to chalk it up to genetics, because I certainly can't take any credit. I don't do anything special, at all. Thanks for the kind words!
Where is this
At my house in the Florida Keys.
It time for a question and answer apisode 😆😅🤣😂
I've had several requests for one. I'm thinking about it. Thanks for watching!
Thank you 😊 💓
100th comment!
Lol, well congratulations! 😀
If you dont plant your Pink Pricess outside like a propagation or smth. You missed the point
I'm living in a colder climate now and don't know that the PP would appreciate being outdoors in the cold.
