    Hi Peggy, I happened across another one of your videos as I was too looking for indoor care videos and saw Peggy's Plant channel with a scindapsus pictus. So glad I clicked on this particular video because I recently purchased another scindapsus plant at a local grocery store, labeled as silvery ann, but after watching your comparisons, I'm almost certain it's an Argyreus. I have grown pothos up my oak tree for years and the leaves were big as elephant's ears the higher up it grew, but the leaves that sprawled on the ground stayed small like you would see in potted planters. I took some cuttings before cutting down the oak tree and potted up for another oak tree in my future.😁 I'm also in Central FL Zone 9B.

      Hello fellow Floridian! Scindapsus seems to be mislabeled as often as they are correctly labeled. 😂 I think they are trying to keep us on our toes. It's amazing how large leaves on plants can grow when they are mounted on trees, moss poles, etc. I have a golden pothos cutting I brought with me from my home in the Florida Keys. Can't wait to mount it on a tree and watch it grow. Happy planting and thanks for watching!

    Ok, well I guess I lucked in to an Exotica today. Every now and again, something wonderful lands in the Coal Region of PA. I believe I'll follow your example of allowing mine to dry out before watering. I do that with my other plants and they're happy little things, for the most part. We don't talk about the Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma. I appreciate your no-nonsense approach and delivery.

    Hi! I loved this video! I could never figure out a way to tell between the silvery anne and exotica but what you shared makes it so much easier! Question: when cutting these plants for propagation... what happens to the cut stem on the main plant? Does it stop vining/growing or will it start to grow again from the cut area?

    • @PeggysPlants
      @PeggysPlants  4 роки тому

      Glad you found this video helpful. The cut end does not grow, but the plant usually branches off and will grow on the same vine.

    I literally just did a video on this and wish I had stopped by here first for more in depth knowledge. What I like about them is how strong and velvety their leaves are. They are gorgeous.
    As far as pronunciationn, one says tuh-may-toe...someone else says tuh-mah-toe. I'm from Ohio with a Midwestern/Northern dialect by way of Cincinnati, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Atlanta and now Florida. So my accent is all over the place.

      LOL, what's in a name. I primarily like to know what plants are so that I can research the care. Other than that, no big deal. I'm not an English teacher, so I don't grade or judge. 😊 As long as I can keep these beautiful plants thriving, I'm a happy plant lady. Gotta go check out your video. I don't recall seeing that one. I have all three as well and completely agree that they prefer to dry out. I found that that mine at least tell me when they need to be watered because their leaves will start to curl and that's when I water. I also use water from my aquarium on all my plants and they seem to love it.

I spray it 4_5 times a day, watering only once a day, but hasn't shown any further growth in two months. Even though it's healthy it's not becoming bushy. Give me some tips. Not to forget, it has cast me a lot of money in this part of the world about 70$.

      Hello! I have my scindapsus in well draining soil and water once a week in the warmer months. It does not get any direct sun and it is growing well. They are not fast growing plants like pothos. Also, you may want to consider using some diluted fertilizer. Hope that helps.

    • @PeggysPlants
      @PeggysPlants  4 роки тому +2

      Mine also do this when it needs watering, although I've also seen that happen from overwatering. If you have a moisture meter, I would check the soil moisture level. If it has been some time since you last watered, make sure you water thoroughly. If you've watered recently, let it dry out before watering again. Hope that helps.
