      Justin Hickox I just went in the bathroom and did exactly what you did on the video. The best tip was to just trim with a comb only the part above the high point of your brow. Then taper sides. 💕. They turned out perfectly!!!!

      Jackie Brown - Agree Jackie! I did the same thing. I had been cutting them with the scissors the wrong way and I followed Justin’s instructions and mine also are greatly improved. Very easy to follow instructions.

      OH MY GOODNESS JUSTIN!!!
      I watched this video a few times, trying to decide if I could actually pull off trimming my own bangs. Well tonight I got tired of my bangs being to long and not being able to manage them, so I. Carefully followed your direction and trimmed them. They ate actually even! And manageable again! Thank you so much!!!!

    I am also a licensed hairdresser, and I really like the way you help people do DIY. Some people cannot afford to get their hair done. I have done Pro bono work, because some people just need a lift and hair does that. I so enjoy your tutorials, Thanks for sharing. I love hairdressers that share and help the guys that can't afford the very best. Thanks.

      You're not the only one, haircuts have went up in price since covid. I cut my own hair & my own bangs. If I mess up my hair, I have only myself to blame. There have been several stylists that have boogers up my hair

    It was VERY helpful that you had your model do the cutting herself, figuring out how to hold contort you body to do some of this stuff is tricky. My hairstylist is worth every penny she charges and more. Thanks

      Thank you! I’m glad that approach helped you. I feel that this is the best approach to teach people how to do hair at their own home on themselves. It’s not the same with me showing you how I would do it on me it’s easier and more effective in my opinion to show you have someone else would do it on them selves.

    I’ve not been to a salon in over 25 years. I gave up and have been cutting my own waist length hair myself. The one thing I’ve never been happy with is my bangs. The tips about where to start are SO helpful! I’ve been doing everything else right but starting with the wrong “foundation”! It will take time to correct my mistake but I so appreciate your guidance. Thank you so much!🙏🏻

      Wow congrats on the fact you've been cutting your own hair all these years!
      I am about to leave my very good but becoming too expensive for me, hairstylist, now, age 53. I'm quite dextrous in arts/crafts but doing my own hair is another level. I've just pulled off Brad Mondo's Butterfly cut and it gave me an appetite to take it further. I'm loving it in fact!

    • @mamalovesthebeach437
      @mamalovesthebeach437 11 місяців тому

      @@Hana-su7zg I had to look up Brad Mondo's Butterfly cut! I looks like a great cut! I think I'd have to let my bangs grow out a bit for it to look good. As I've aged I've become more bold about what I do with scissors to my hair ; ) Thanks so much for the comment and the Mondo link! I may try it out with shorter bangs...what the heck!

    • @Hana-su7zg
      @Hana-su7zg 11 місяців тому

      @@mamalovesthebeach437 You can totally customize it, I have somewhat shorter bangs myself. The Butterfly cut is mainly to give you a very easy layered cut. But it's not perfect, it's just too simple. I'm already seeing less-than-perfect areas in it and watching loads of tutorials to learn to perfect it. Layering, point cutting, feather razors, all that stuff, how exciting! Collecting my hairdressing tools bit by bit. Never realized that it's actually fairly easy, once you learn what to do, all the sectioning, some clever hack techniques like the twist technique for the bangs etc. Wish I'd done it years ago but I guess all the DIY tutorials exploded thanks to the lockdowns. There are some great videos, check out wolf cut too, good luck and have fun 😄

    Thanks Justin, this looks like the Goldie Hawn style fringe that I’ve been admiring for a while, i.e. longer at the sides. If I’m brave I might try. I liked the fact you didn’t take over and showed your model doing the cutting. Best wishes from England.

    I absolutely love the new facial hair. Either way you're very handsome and professional, but the beard has a whole new style to you. And by the way " All About Style" is what I suggested your show should be called. I have been a stylist since 1968 since I graduated from Pittsburgh beauty academy but I watch you faithfully to always learn more. Thank you Justin. Keep the videos coming ❤️

    Now I'm going to have to go check the size of the blade on my thinning sheers. ;) Thanks! Great post. I have cut too far & gotten the square bang b4. That is very hard to blend in. Love the comb trick, never know quite where to start taking from.

    Great video. I’ve been doing it all wrong! Lol my favorite tip was how to blow dry the bangs non directionally. I’m definitely going to do that from now on.
    Also thanks for the explanation on the texturizing sheers. Would love to get the ones you suggest.
    I’ve called to try to get a bang trim and sometimes it’s a week before they can get me in, so this really helps!
    👍🏻

      Stoked you found the insight on the shears helpful! Yes, for SURE, those shears are my favorite for breaking up the ends of hair and blending out bulk etc. I use them on almost every client I have for some reason or another. They’re amazing!!!
      Is there anything you’d like to see covered in a future video?
