    i have read that Snell has in its standard that the helmet can be painted . however you need to block the vents because if the clear or solvant based paint(authomotive paint) gets in it will destroy the foam inside .
    (as show by a vid here on youtube)

    First step you said painted black, was that black primer or like a base coat? I have been painting helicopters and aircraft parts and its a process that never changes so I do not get to try new colors or techniques or other types of paint than what we always use on the aircraft so I want to start trying other things and types of paint.

    I have kind of a two part question here, my apologies if you have answered it before. I have been having a hard time getting my airbrush colors to lay down and stick on some of my projects, even using a flat black paint. I am using Createx Wicked with little reducer and even no reducer at times. What am I doing wrong on this? I prime everything of course. Also, how would you go about airbrushing something that is already painted, like a car that has been done, say someone wants something added to their car and it has the factory clear coat. How do you paint on that and what do you recommend I use for paint for something like that?

    • @customspraymods
      @customspraymods  10 років тому +1

      Not sure why the paint is not laying down, what is happening? It may be incompatible primer or silicone in the air or a number of things. If you have clearcoat you want to paint over just scuff with fine scotchbrite pads then spray adhesion promoter, then apply the paint.

    • @123greengoblin123
      @123greengoblin123 10 років тому +1

      Hi dayan,
      I've been airbrushing with the createx line for a couple of years now, and what could help you is heat curing the paint after the apply, using a hairdrier. Wicked and Auto Air being water based tend to be a bit more finicky, also make sure the base is scuffed.
      Look up Simon Murray, he's done a lot of videos with the createx line that could help you.
      If you it still isn't sorted you might want to join the Createx, Wicked and Auto Air users group on facebook, im an admin there and we've got 6700 members with many professional custom painters.
      Hope this helps you
