There are some furniture restoration channels on UA-cam. If somebody asked me to pick the best one, it would be a tough choice. Since I am writing here, you can surely guess where I am heading. Correct. This! This is the best furniture restoration channels on UA-cam. Ahti, you are a true master and I also like the way you do this videos. No talking, no "sponsors". Just pure 100% content. I remain truly amazed and grateful, for you share your workflow and over decades acquired skills with us. You are truly a master of your craft, Ahti. Best wishes, Erik.
Have you watched Thomas Johnson Antique furniture restoration? He is more traditional and antiques are much older. But the transformation of the pieces is the same. Love love love his channel too. I gave up on others watching only my favourites AT Restoration and Thomas. They are very different but both are very professional. Two generations of true masters.
I think what makes these videos so enjoyable is the good editing; you show just enough to follow the process, but not enough to make it boring. It stays interesting throughout!
Exactly. I finished watching this video and realized that I watched the whole thing at normal speed. I almost always watch restoration videos at 2x speed.
Beautiful mobile! I'm only sorry for the dark color applied to the piece, because I like the color of natural wood. Whatever the color of the wood, I prefer it because the natural beauty is incomparable. Another extraordinary work, Ahti! Congratulations!
I agree with you on how the stain is too dark. It still looks magnificent but it would look even better a shade or two lighter. Brilliant restoration sir. Your best yet! BRAVO!
Magnificent! Only you could have resurrected that desk to the level it is now Ahti. My wife and i both exclaimed "Who wouldn't want that in their home"? Who indeed! Spectacular work my brother. And thank you again for the English subtitles on your interview video on television. While your language is beautiful, I speak none, so being able to see what was said made the video even more awesome. Thank you as always brother, for your outstanding work and videos. God bless. Rev. D.
I agree that the color requested was darker than I would have chosen, but you can't argue with the stunning transformation. Absolutely beautiful. I get almost giddy when I see the notification that you have released a new video...I always learn something new. Thanks for another great restoration.
I don't why UA-cam recommended this to me. But I am really glad that it did. This is the first video I've seen on your channel and I'm quite impressed by your work. Really appreciate your dedication man. Cheers
The desk had a lot of wear over many years of hard daily use; All of which showed. "...making it nice again." is an understatement. You made it spectacular looking, as well as useful and practical. Everyday useful art. I love what you do! Thanks!
What a beautifully restored and re-purposed piece of office furniture. The work of a true professional.

Watching you, doing this nonsense-free restorations that obviously put bread on your table is always making me happy and motivated :-) All the best from Poland!
I love the way you work, your ethics, your attention to details, your REAL and not put on. You know what needs to be done and just do it. This is one very beautiful desk, all the details, hidden compartment and all. I would have thought the client would have wanted someway to keep it off the floor to protect it some what. You do such beautiful work. Thank you for sharing this with us. You have a truly blessed day
Although I have had many favourites from your body of work I think this one is my favourite-of-all-time! At least so far. Even in its life-has-been-hard condition it is a beautiful piece and your skilled restorative work just puts it over-the-top for me.
You really are very good, everything explained nicely and quietly, no loud voices which drive me mad on UA-cam. Thank you for sharing your skill and obvious love of the articles you renovate.
I love your repairs, man. Excellent patches and strength. Wow, those door edge corners will NEVER chip again. What a good decision it was to replace those water-damaged top pieces -- too much dirt underneath them. I never would have guessed it was so bad under them.
This desk is totally unique now. It is perfect. It might sound silly, but I often get sentimental feelings when I'm watching a piece of yours that is really special. And I got that feeling while watching this. Somebody loved this desk and put a lot of love and work to, and into, this old man. I thank you for standing him high and proud again. I like to think it 's going to stay in the same family and perhaps be used and loved again there. Thank you for allowing us to watch as you bring this beautiful piece of history back for us to enjoy. Best wishes.
You are a master of your craft. What I like the best is you don’t replace the entire surface for just a chip on the corner and you make everything blend. Also, candle wax works.
Just perfect..!! Besides loving your videos, I truly like your respect for history and the passion put on what you do, congratulations..!! What a difference it makes when we have the right tools to complete any project..!!
I am by no means an expert in restoring fournituren. But it is clear to me that an expert is at work here. Formidable with how much love and skill you carry out this kind of restoration.
Your skills are just above and beyond anyone else on UA-cam. I have a beautiful (previously valuable) antique grandfather clock, but my puppy chewed the legs and the wood around the face warped during transit. I would only trust someone like you to fix it, but I doubt there is anyone else! And I"m not in Europe even. :(
Excellent work, once again! Thanks for sharing, I was looking forward to seeing your next project and you didn't disappoint. Can't wait for the next one!
Comment to bump the algorithm... I may not always like the outcome of a particular project, but I can't fault the excellence of your work. If anyone were to ask me where to find tutorials about furniture restoration, I would not hesitate to tell them to watch your channel. Your attention to detail equals or exceeds the best restoration channels on UA-cam.
Yes, a beautiful piece of restauration work. Gives me hope, that I can restore my wifes old - oak veneered - desk (early 1950 ´s) to become such a wonderful piece of furniture for her private office. Thanks for the lesson Sir. have a nice weekend with warm regards from Robert out of Germany
I just wanted to comment that I found the grain on the center drawer interesting. I understand why you covered it and the piece turned out fantastic! I also appreciated your explanation as to why you use darker stain. I did not take that into account in my earlier comments. Thank you for providing videos showcasing your excellent work!
Restoration is a job I would have loved to have done but I had no opportunity. Watching you I now realise I would never have had the patience to do it. This was another brilliant job. Well Done and keep them coming.
Very thoughtful and thorough restoration. Excellent decisions made on problem areas. Nice to see someone else remember that dried PVA glue can be heat reactivated to act like contact cement.
This is the BEST furniture restoration channel on UA-cam , I am always amazed at your craftsmanship and pure work no idle chit chat , though I do like your occasional bit of humor its nice , keep it up mate 🙂
Gorgeous!!! What a fabulous restoration, I really liked the dark tone you used, as it gave the piece of furniture greatness together with those golden handles. I am mesmerized by how you fix details that would be imperceptible to our eyes, using your wonderful equipments. It's a great pleasure to watch your videos, Ahti! I admire you so much! 👏🌷
As usual aother beautiful restorartion which called for all you skills to achieve. Like you I would have preferred a lighter stain but the client is always right especially when matching other furniture. Thanks for sharing.
I have to admit. This turned out way better than I thought it could (and I started watching b/c I though it would look amazing after finished)... Congrats and thank you for another great video.
I agree with you, it's a little dark. But if I had a den or office, it would be one of my prized possessions. I love old & antique furniture. It has so much more character and beauty than any "modern" stuff. Again, you did another great restoration.
Every time I watch your work with interest! What a great guy you are! Master of golden hands. Such a volume of work and so everything is done at a high level. Respect.
Such a beautiful desk! I love how you work to preserve the original wood. So many UA-cam restoration creators will just toss the whole piece and make a new one. One video I recently watched threw out all the wood on a restoration of a chest - the hardware was the only original part! That's fine if that's what you want to do, but don't call it a "restoration" video. Again I love your work and your genuine restoration videoes! Thank you from SC, USA.
Outstanding work, Ahti. Yours is one of the few channels I hit the like button as soon as the video starts. The level of craftmanship and the consistency of the results set you apart. Loved that desk. Portly, yet barren. It screams "I'm from a bygone era!" with those deep drawers for stationery and documents, and the slim one in the middle for letter paper. Sometimes, past is good. Have a great weekend, mate. Cheers.

When I watch other channels (which is very rare), I watch with WWAD in mind. And I get frustrated that they aren't doing what is best for the piece.
I concour.
I totally agree!
I think what makes these videos so enjoyable is the good editing; you show just enough to follow the process, but not enough to make it boring. It stays interesting throughout!
Really it’s Enjoyable experience 🤔#needsatisfying🤔
Thanks for a great video! I just finished a small table restoration. 🎉 feel free to watch my channel 💪🏻
Your client is very fortunate to have you do the work. It came out beautifully.
Beautiful! I too would have preferred a mid tone stain but this piece is alive again.
I agree with you on how the stain is too dark. It still looks magnificent but it would look even better a shade or two lighter. Brilliant restoration sir. Your best yet! BRAVO!
I wait expectantly for your videos. Love them all.
Magnificent! Only you could have resurrected that desk to the level it is now Ahti. My wife and i both exclaimed "Who wouldn't want that in their home"? Who indeed! Spectacular work my brother. Gorgeous. What I like about this restoration is that the craftsman preserved the character of the piece.
You always find the best things!
Andersonville, Tennessee here! I would love to have a desk like this! Beautiful job!
I agree that the color requested was darker than I would have chosen, but you can't argue with the stunning transformation. Absolutely beautiful. I get almost giddy when I see the notification that you have released a new video...I always learn something new. Thanks for another great restoration.

Thanks! You have a lot more videos to watch then ;)
Watching you bring these lovely old pieces back to life makes me so happy!!❤️
You just put into words how I feel about these videos! I love AT !!
I too do not like darks staining of wood furniture, but you have to please the client . This another successful project. I appreciate your work.
The desk had a lot of wear over many years of hard daily use; All of which showed.
"...making it nice again." is an understatement. You made it spectacular looking, as well as useful and practical. Everyday useful art. I love what you do! Thanks!
I like the dark stain, makes the old desk look contemporary & new. Great work!
So beautifully restored !! I love the dark stain, it is such a rich and warm color - like a delicious chocolate bar. Bravo 👏
It’s back to being a beautiful antique again! I love the dark stain and you are a magician with matching the new wood to the old wood!
Excellent workmanship, well done 👏
What a beautifully restored and re-purposed piece of office furniture. The work of a true professional.
Watching you, doing this nonsense-free restorations that obviously put bread on your table is always making me happy and motivated :-) All the best from Poland!
You always manage to get another surprise with the way you transform old, decades-old furniture with your usual skill.
It's a fantastic job again! The table is very beautiful!!! Thanks!
What a perfect job. The old desk turned into a high end desk for years to come. You are a wizard restotator

I was so happy to see you had uploaded another piece of work. And you did not disappoint like always. Nice outcome! Thank you.
Although I have had many favourites from your body of work I think this one is my favourite-of-all-time! At least so far. Even in its life-has-been-hard condition it is a beautiful piece and your skilled restorative work just puts it over-the-top for me.
Wow! What a beautiful piece!
Wow! Thanks for sharing your expertise! Beautiful job!

Wow, those door edge corners will NEVER chip again.
What a good decision it was to replace those water-damaged top pieces -- too much dirt underneath them. I never would have guessed it was so bad under them.
I never would have guessed that the desk would have come out that nice! You are a master!
Excellent workmanship! Ashame the client wanted it so dark, though
I love watching you work, you put so much effort in all the details of these restorations...Take care...

Wow, beautiful desk and professional finish!
A beautiful design but I liked it better without the stain.
It is almost therapeutic to watch your videos. Love them...

I like your work. You are precise. Every restoration is beautiful and you are not boring

You are indeed a very talented, skilfull and artistic furniture restorer.
Looks brand new! You are a true craftsman!
Always glad you are sticking around long enough from your motorcycle rides to do these lovely restorations.
Congratulations ! As every time you did a perfect restoration ! I admire your work !!
I just love watching these old, sad pieces of furniture as they are brought back to life and their dignity is restored.
Your skills are just above and beyond anyone else on UA-cam. I have a beautiful (previously valuable) antique grandfather clock, but my puppy chewed the legs and the wood around the face warped during transit. Wow 😲 amazing work! It was worth to restore this desk ! 👌👌👌
I feel bad for the old version, it must be heartbreaking for that desk calling it ugly.
That is an absolutely beautiful piece of furniture. You gave it a new life!!

Ahti, Wow, once again you Never cease to amaze me with Any piece of furniture you are restoring. I love all you videos
That color matching to hide the repairs is incredible! Very very well done
The only thing I don't like is that the video is not long enough. I love your work! Longer video please 😁

I can't believe what an amazing job you did of making the patched veneer on the desktop completely indistinguishable. Beautiful final product.
Nice job bringing new life back to the old desk.

First Class! Whilst I agree with you regarding colours, you have made a beautiful & very usable desk here. Thank you for sharing !

Wonderful job, carefully and lovingly restored and saved.
An exceptional job with great attention to detail.

I love Art Deco pieces. I also prefer the medium to dark stains. This desk looks wonderful. Bravo.
Absolutely beautiful!
That desk was held together by a hope and a prayer my mom would say. Now it will hold its own in any office! 👍 great restoration!
Ciao complimenti un restauro impeccabile!!! e un piacere vederti lavorare, hai una grande maestria.

This was another great restoration job. I especially enjoyed watching the 'checker board' pattern repair on the top of the desk. Thanks for the video.
WOW - what a beautiful piece of furniture. You did such a good job on it. Thanks for sharing your skills - WELL DONE 🙂. Take care.
