How to get setup in using Ultimaker Cura slicing software on this printer, shown using two different versions. If you are a beginner, I suggest using the version supplied on the SD card that comes with the printer. A more advanced method is also shown for those wanting to use the latest version of Cura, which can be downloaded from the Ultimaker site.
This printer has a lot of features not normally found on entry level 3D printers.
Longer LK4 X features a direct dual-gear extruder with a 5:1 reduction ratio, stronger and more accurate filament control, and is compatible with PLA, TPU, ABS, PETG, and WOOD.
The platform is built of premium spring-flexible steel that allows for simple filament adhesion to the print bed without the use of adhesive. And simply removes the printed model by just removing the PEI sheet and slightly bending it.
With 16-point exact leveling, the unevenness of the hot bed is automatically compensated, deducting the hassle of manual leveling and improving printing

You can still open the configuration folder/directory from cura and copy the content over. That way you can directly add the LK4 X also in newest Cura versions. You can find it under Help -> Show Configuration Folder
True, but one would need to be very careful not to overwrite or delete any existing printers. Since I have 6 different ones, I elected to do it this way.
Shouldn't be a problem, as it just copies files that are new if you haven't added them before. In windows there isn't a way to replace a folder, just files, so you should be on the save side.
You are correct. Cura opens up its configuration folder, in my case the folder is called '5.2' on a Mac OS. I just copied the definitions, quality and variants folder into this '5.2' folder. The LK4 X finally showed up in the printer directory listing on Cura. I even contacted Longer yesterday and they were not aware that their instruction video is outdated for the newest version of Cura. On the Mac, I have an option to 'Merge' and not 'Replace' if there are files already in the targeted folders.

Hi Just came across this video since one of these printers was sent to me for a review a while back. I caught COVID so that got delayed. A few things... thanks for the warning about the resource folder. I have 25 machines and I would be some annoyed to loose all that data! You seem to repeat that 5 times in the video, btw! For direct drive, I am surprised the stock retract distance is 5 mm. I'll set it lower and do some calibration to see what's best. Happy Holidays

@@rogersshop thank you very much Rodger I really appreciate the reply, I haven't tried my 3D printer yet, I have installed cura onto my laptop from SD card supplied with the printer and still haven't done what they said as I couldn't figure it out.
I'm going to look for that clip on the SD card hopefully that will help.

@@rcfungames You will probably need to update Cura as the versions generally on the supplied card is dated.
