I know alot of the Soviet times were bad but it mainly depends on when and where in the Soviet Union are we talking about in the major cities during the 50s to the 80s living conditions weren't that bad. Schooling in the Soviet Union from the early days was free and was quite good And living in the USSR is quite safe as the stingy ass government checks everything that goes into the country so addictive/harmful drugs pretty much didn't exist there Of course there are food scarcity here and there but usually you get necessary food like bread and such And Of course everybody had to work, the adults went to work in factories and such while the children cleaned the streets whether it was freezing or boiling weather. And technology came slow as fuck in 1976 only two thirds of Soviet families had refrigerators while the USA got there in the 1930s. there was alot of disease and Life expectancy actually fell in the Soviet Union during the 1960s and 1970s. And By the US poverty measure, well over half of the Soviet population was poor But for every bad thing there was something good in return Edit:and alot of genocide I guess.
1944. At this point the Soviets were on course to take Berlin. In fact the front line of the war went from closer to Moscow to closer to Berlin within the year. After Kursk it was pretty much over for the Southern front and after an offensive in the north that crushed most of the German army it was pretty much over. So overall 1944 was when the Soviets pushed the Germans out of their land and were pushing back.

Scott Faulkner The US anthem is not an amazing song, it's not bad, but it's hardly good. It isn't really admired anywhere outside of the US. Not that it matters, an anthem should matter to it's people, what other nations see in it is irrelevant.

@SlimyKlerburt it’s so good, but one problem. It’s utopia.
@SlimyKlerburt u good?
No other system has lifted more people from poverty than capitalism has. If it weren't for capitalism, there would be none of the technology we now take for granted. In communist societies, there is no incentive for working hard bc theres no reward for your accomplishments. There are two classes in communist countries. Dirt poor citizens and filthy rich elites/corrupt politicians. Sadly we have the latter here in America. We just call them Democrats....

The Soviet Union is not a place, it is a people. Let us remember the great Soviets.
But the problem is that those people were starved, hence why the union collapsed and abandoned communism.
@@Notaxmer when they abandoned communism they got even worse financial status. sure they were free to yell at boris and cherbachov but they were all jobless. if america had provided aid in that time im sure russia would not be a dictatorship right now
@@Notaxmer it was less of collapse and more of a coup by Yeltsin and the like, they had votes across the union in the last few years and an overwhelming 70% of soviet citizens voted to keep the union, not a collapse

I know alot of the Soviet times were bad but it mainly depends on when and where in the Soviet Union are we talking about in the major cities during the 50s to the 80s living conditions weren't that bad. Schooling in the Soviet Union from the early days was free and was quite good
And living in the USSR is quite safe as the stingy ass government checks everything that goes into the country so addictive/harmful drugs pretty much didn't exist there
Of course there are food scarcity here and there but usually you get necessary food like bread and such
And Of course everybody had to work, the adults went to work in factories and such while the children cleaned the streets whether it was freezing or boiling weather.
And technology came slow as fuck in 1976 only two thirds of Soviet families had refrigerators while the USA got there in the 1930s.
there was alot of disease and Life expectancy actually fell in the Soviet Union during the 1960s and 1970s.
And By the US poverty measure, well over half of the Soviet population was poor

There's a lyric in the song that says "destroyed the enemy" and idk when this song was made but I feel like they predicted taking berlin
Erick Castellanos “destroyed the invaders” and this was made after World War II
Also, the whole song’s propaganda, of course they’ll say that
I think they refered to the white army as well

I'm a patriotic American, but I must admit: This music kicks some serious ass.
USA anthem is better, but I agree, even though I don't like the message of the song.
Scott Faulkner The US anthem is not an amazing song, it's not bad, but it's hardly good. It isn't really admired anywhere outside of the US. Not that it matters, an anthem should matter to it's people, what other nations see in it is irrelevant.
Scott Faulkner Personally, I think it sends a good message. Unfortunately, the "way the message was sent" was quite horrible.
