A couple months ago I traveled to Terra Haute IN to check out Griffin Bike Park. I quickly realized they didn’t just build a world class bike facitility, they built a bike community.
I had a great time riding with the locals, seasoning the skills area and passing on some tips to the locals but I wanted to hear the story behind why it’s named Griffin Bike Park and who was Dale Griffin So I was lucky to hear it from his parents Gene and Donna Griffin
    Check out the park here:

Mr Jeff Trail BossMan!! Thanks for hittin' GBP man!! We REALLY hope you'll stop thru again next year! I was the guy at the end of the "selfie session" that had a friend take a pic of us fist bumpin' and knuck bustin' at your van. I live 1/2 way between GBP and KickaPoo State Park and ride both as frequent as possible. Both about 40 mins away. Cant wait to post up some of my better Han Solo night rides at Griffin. Really an experience out there deep into the place at night. Thanks again for blessing us with a ride along,..Peace and stay VERT and don't get shredded!!

I have, and do. I try to go a couple times a week, I'm lucky to live just 10 minutes away!

I live two hours away, I've been there 3 times now and they always have something new every time I go! The black diamond trails like Zulu and KA Bar are more challenging than you'd think for the midwest!

Rode Griffin yesterday. Much Fun! I tripped over it accidently. Terre Haute was just a random stop on my way to Bentonville. Checked MtbProj only after I booked my campground. I extended my stay another week, after my first ride in the park. Their webpage is pitiful, that's the only reason it's not crowded.

Great story about this park, Jeff. It sounds like they worked very hard to make this park something very special to the area and the people that use it. That water crossing was unlike any I've seen. Great find and thanks for sharing

Yes they truly are I met Gene Griffin and two of his sons, many many years ago on the trail at Kickapoo State Park in Vermilion County and gave him a tube. Didn't know who he was then except for a mountain biker that really needed a tube to get out of the woods LOL. And He remembered me many many years later and has been one of the nicest gentleman in the mountain biking scene that I've ever met. His late son Dale enjoyed the place so greatly that it tickles me every time I go out and ride and think about the sacrifice that he made for his Country and just how awesome it is that Vigo County gave the Griffin family the creative license to build the place.

@ 4:25 is my biggest problem...
I don't know how to manual so every time a drop comes I have to bunnyhop it....which makes the drop a lot higher and me nervous 😟

I'd be interested to know how many MTB parks have opened up in the past few years and how fast their popularity has grown thanks to UA-cam content providers such as yourself. I'm new to the sport as of April and I've spent an obscene amount of time watching MTB videos. Especially ones like this where folks with channels go out to these places and show what they are all about to people who aren't local.
Previously when I thought "Mountain Biking", I thought Colorado and California. Through UA-cam, I've learned of and have traveled to places I've seen here. Indiana? Upper Peninsula Michigan? NW Arkansas? Never would have thought about it. Keep up the travels. I want to know where all the good places are :)
