Stand or Fall,one of the greatest songs ever composed,great reaction guys
Stand or Fall was a song that dealt with the Cold War at the time where the whole world hung in the balance between nuclear missiles from the US and Russia.
The Fixx are one of the greatest rock bands ever. Stand or Fall, Red Skies, Are We Ourselves?, Saved by Zero, One Thing Leads to Another, Less Cities, Secret Separation... and many, many more. Hell, I'd kill to have written just ONE of those songs, and they've written a ton of 'em. Red Skies alone seals their place in pop music history for me. They're also a killer live act. Still around, and better than ever.
That song is a cold war song. Living under the threat of nuclear war put everyone on edge. I'm glad that those fears have been placed on the backburner. The Fixx had some good tunes. Are We Ourselves, Less Cities More Moving People, Secret Separation. Thanks for the post/

The song goes though you with meaning, sound, vocal, lyric = greatness. Short and to the point.
Like others have said this is a very underrated group.. Rik Emmett is a awesome guitar player.. and taking on lead vocals at the same time makes him that much better..👍🇺🇲 it's great that you guys are exposing people to great music of the past. Keep it up.. thanks..
Rik Emmett is one of (if not the) best lead guitarist/vocalists in one person in rock history. Can shred and play magnificently and sings like an angel.

@@LegoGBlok oh hell yeah. I know that performance very well. Only kid on my block with the original VHS back in the day. Later i got the CD and DVD. one of the great performances ever!

The Fixx!! Wow!!!! Stand or Fall. Great song. They have many good songs from the 80's and early 90's. Love the work you guys do and that you guys are so honest. You guys work so well together and I'm a big fan of you guys. Check in everyday.. Keep up the awesome job you guys do. Very entertaining ❤️
Rik Emmett is SO underrated. Spectacular voice and guitarist. I really like Jimmy Page but let him play that twin neck guitar and have the lead in every song as well. Rik is just really good.

So glad you liked it ❤❤❤, you should listen to..'the Fool' check out the lyrics!!! - or 'saved by Zero' & 'Secret separation' what a beautiful song that is!....by the way..... 'Stand or Fall' was written during the cold war 81/82 and they are from london but moved to USA mid 80s and became huge over there and forgotten in uk and subsequently there albums are rare and super expensive reaching in some cases over £200 .There guitarist 'Jamie west-oram' was in the Tina Turner touring band for a while and they also wrote some songs for her. VERY Underated band - mid 80s turned to marillion in the end as easier to get there stuff- but always preferred 'the Fixx' .❤❤❤
The drummer - Mr Gil Moore , He also handles vocals on some tracks. Myself I prefer Gils voice over Riks. Do yourselves a favor and go watch them perform Rock N Roll Machine - Live at the 1983 US festival.Legendary performance
