ABOUT THIS SONG/VIDEO:
When I was composing "The Siren and the Sailor", I imagined this story where a lonely sailor sets out to sea on his small boat from a fishing community. You see the dock and hear the clanking of the ropes against boat masts in the harbor, seagulls overhead, and a rush of wind as he leaves the harbor.
As he is out to sea for days, he finds himself in a tempest storm and fighting with all his might to keep his boat above water. Eventually the storm dies down and he is in a dead calm sea, where he meets a beautiful siren. They end up in a tangled love affair, and in the music you hear all the twists and turns of this story with all the love, passion, and suspense. In the end, it is up to you, the listener, to determine what happens. Does this love stricken sailor fall victim to the bottom of the sea entangled by the siren's haunting song, or does he escape and make his way home?
