For anyone wondering, "Rondeau des fleurs et des rapieres" means "Dance of flowers and swords", the _rondeau_ being a traditional french dance, and the _rapière_ a long and thin sword used a lot around the 16th century in Italy!
The rapier is theorized to come from Spain but was used a lot throughout Western Europe especially in Spain, France and Italy. It is also the predecessor to the french "Epée de cour" meaning "Sword of the court".
I kind of felt underwhelmed by the main theme but the Natlan battle theme was fantastic. I wish the main theme wasn't as vocal and had more ethnic instruments, specially from the Andes and Pampas regions
How long are these concerts supposed to last? With the amount of music for each region, a full game would be more than overkill and way too long for a single concert. In my opinion, they already have enough to start their world tour already.
I'm afraid that's not going to happen. There are so many exotic instruments used for every region. No orchestra can manage to gather all of these instruments and, more importantly, their respective (masterful) players. But I think it's possible we will see some pieces for specific regions played.
@@jikap A concert like this probably wouldn't play all of the music from the game's repertoire, but most orchestral performances are about 2-2.5 hours with a decent intermission period to stand up and stretch in between. I guess there's nothing stopping a concert series from dividing the music into different concert series if they don't want to skip too many pieces. (some other stuff that could limit them going on world tour would be: money, time and venue availability are some obstacles. the logistics of having orchestras travel can be a lot, too (for example: hotels, visas, etc. ) If they could manage to bring some of these instruments without them being damaged by border officers, it'd be the greatest miracle ever. Though if I were that glass harpist player or the glass harmonic one I'd be stressed! ^^; )
It is just sad seeing people saying that Fontaine music isn't good enough after the message of Yu-Peng Chen leaving Hoyomix. While during the livestream so many people were in love with the sad yet elegant majestic music. It is absolutely amazing no matter who really composed it as long as people are open to listening.
No wonder I don't feel much with fontaine music ..I even forced myself to enjoy it but nahhh..I think it lacks soul and not mesmerising enough as other regions..so it's was not Yu peng Chen piece .. I just know today lol he's leaving the hoyo.. sadge

I absolutely love Fontaine music. I've always been neutral to mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma music (save for the boss themes, those are great). Sumeru's ost is great but got old after a while. Fontaine's is great and a breath of fresh air.
Genshin’s music will always be under appreciated, not because it doesn’t receive a lot of praise, but because the amazingness of their music far outweighs any amount of praise it receives..
Not only their music, their story is really deep with a lot of symbolism and mini stories with interesting developments and characters that leave a mark by only appearing a couple times. The writing can be pretty good sometimes. The game has practically no bugs which for open world is such an achievement. Multiple events per update and a whole zone each year. That is really just the surface, this game is amazing and I wish someday Genshin players will realize the love there is, instead of complaining because the game isn’t self destructing with power creep.
Let's be real. Kids these days can't stand seeing middle aged musicians in suits and dresses and think every instrument that isn't an 808 bass or synth or electric guitar is a "boring outdated instrument". The fact that "musicians" of current generation are only making trendy music in hopes to be viral on TikTok is pretty telling. No creativity or vision whatsoever. Those music are pure garbage from an objective musical perspective, and it can't be helped that the mass is propagating their popularity. As long as these 30 second hooks these "TikTok music" continue to undermine the exposure of actual good music like Genshin's, its OST will always be underappreciated.

I know hoyo has done two concerts but one is yet to be performed in front of a live audience. So far the anniversary concerts are prerecorded and have only been livestreamed.
Imagine the concert that will be held when the game has completed the core story. We are treated to 7 groups of musicians as the concert starts with a Mondstadt theme moving on to Liyue next and so on. By the time the Snezhnaya theme ends we are all in tears as we remember our journey. When they finish serenading us with just themes is when they hit us hard with the emotions with Ruu's song to start, then Eternal Oasis. After the first hour and a half we take a mandatory intermission so the audience can rehydrate from the tears.
i bet when genshin ends there will be a huge mihoyo concert with soundtracks from all regions in celebration of everything we’ve passed. and i bet i’m gonna cry
i hate to think there are people missing out on such good music because they don't like the type of game that genshin is. you can enjoy the music without playing the game. i hope everyone who dislikes genshin gets the chance to listen to this music; almost impossible to deny that it's amazing

Mysterious, sad, powerful, and desperately hopeful - all at once. Perhaps this is the state of Furina, under a façade of happiness. Maybe she enjoys performances so much because she herself is always performing, masking her distress at the Prophecy. It's her method of escapism.
@xitheris1758 She just wants to be in the act from the stage for the whole audience to see, hiding the secrets that should not be known. After all, the Teyvat Trailer already hints at this: "Masquerade of the Guilty" Dainsleif mentioned and quoted, "The God of Justice lives for the spectacle of the courtroom, seeking to judge all other gods. Even she knows not to make an enemy of the divine."
For those wondering, that opening instrument you hear in the battle theme is called a glass armonica, it’s such a cool and beautiful sounding instrument and I absolutely love hearing it in the Fontaine music, pretty fitting as well since you use water to play it
@@Ryan-ie4tm The glass harp is a predecessor to the glass harmonica. Main differences include the glass harp being tuned with water, generally wine glasses with varying volumes of water. The armonica or glass harmonica is a series of glass bowls of varying size arranged in a row, generally using friction devices not involving water. Benjamin Franklin invented a mechanical version in the late 1700s. Some languages and regions use both names interchangeably.

Port Ormos's music is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard in Genshin, I spent hours walking around listening to that music when I arrived in that region for the first time. (and I agree with that because APEP's music wasn't made by him, and for me it's the best boss fight music. And in Fontaine, the music from Merusea village is very good.) The composition gives me a feeling of how fragile fontaine is at its current state, as if a single pebble could shatter the porcelain illusion of purity fontaine has.
After act V, and how we now know Fontaine being saved precariously hinged on a plan where everyone played their part for 500 years, this is pretty spot on.
The decision of using glass harmonica & glass harp instrument for fontaine is amazing honestly, gives off a rly unique vibe compared to the other tracks in genshin
I won't lie. I still love Sumeru's music the best. But this... This is an entirely different beast. Incredible in its own right. It's also not fair to say when only two Fontaine tracks are fully out, so maybe my judgement (heh) will change Update: Fontaine's music is ludicrously amazing. I've practically abandoned Sumeru 😂
I enjoyed how they structured Sumeru's theme into a film of scenes, it was top-tier program music, Fontaine's theme feels too traditional and in a sense the next part of the music was fully within expectation, it's hardly bad at all, but Sumeru's music felt so much more innovative it was so much more refreshing.
@@acetonewong4608 That perception mighr come from the fact that France and the surrounding nations have all contributed to the classics. People say genshin is a game for people without lives. But the lore of the game and music goes deeper than those of the lives who speak ill about the game.
Just listening the soundtrack I can imagine Furina as a sensitive, dreamy and gentle person. But after the original Hydro Archon death she had to adapt to her new reality. I can imagine that Furina had so many dreams and goals, before she had to bear the duty of the new Hydro Archon. And the most of them are unreachable for her now. The death of the original Archon caused her to become "prickly" and more distant from her people, as she probably thinks this is how an Archon must be. This, of course, contrasts to her true personality. The only distraction from the harsh reality became the trials at the Court of Fontaine. I would guess that she would gladly retire from her duty, if the opportunity would present itself. Didn't read leaks, so it's all just my speculations, but it would be cool if it will turn out to be correct. That would be blind guess just based from the music
I agree with you say but also I think she's also just traumatized from whatever celestia did 500+ years ago 💀 and now she has these 'laws' they uphold the heavenly principles so that her people won't meet the same fate as Kahrian (yes I forgot how to spell the nations name 😭( 6:16

Once the full game/soundtrack is out... I really hope they do a world wide tour.
Only Few people can affort it
I bet all the whales that play Genshin can… 😅
How long are these concerts supposed to last?
Best part of Genshin's OST is that it comes with it's own game!

The second theme is Morricone + Tchaikovsky

YES! Thank you! I love Fontaine so incredibly much 😭
I literally cried while listening, thanks for amazing work everyone who took part of this.
You’re not the only one its a piece of art !
It's so cool that hoyomix decided to include actual water-centric instruments in the lineup! Love the dedication ❤
Goodbye fontaine, you are the region that made my phone almost explode due to your expansion memory size
Right? I had to uninstall genshin until I got more storage
Time to say hello to Natlan which will make even more phones explode lol
@@galaxywizard8904 yeah, those updates are C4 for our phone
Is was the best region top, at least for me it was
I hope Snezhnaya's OST will be inspired by Russian classical composers such as Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov
Russian composers have created incredible works all through the history of music. there is no way they will not be acknowledged in some way, especially given the amount of thought Yu-Peng Chen puts into all of his compositions :)
THIS russian composers really knew their stuff
@@katl8825 Yu-Peng Chen is truly a master of his work. Music is so emotional and powerful, and he composes all of his music with a thoughtfulness that most people would be surprised to see in a video game. So happy we will be listening to more of his music all throughout Fontaine XD
And im 99.9% sure they will use balalaykas
@@Ari_riri I agree!! Genshin deserves to win every possible award for its music. as someone who has been playing video games for decades, it is so rare to see his & his team's quality of work for "just" a video game!
Focalors' theme and The Narzissenkreuz Ordo theme goes so hard after completing all major Fontaine quests. Truly the best battle theme in the game, in my opinion.
What a lovely perfomance!
DO YOU KNOW?
Robert Ziegler created Star wars music as well, alongside John Williams this man's a legend! ❤
THANKS MIHOYO!
Ohhhh its so cooool ! Thanks Mihoyo !
so no one really noticed that he already conduct 3x i guess for hoyo from monstadt behind the scenes and the sumeru and fontaine 🤔🤔🤔
Awesome
C'est magnifique, j'étais à ça de me réinscrire à l'orchestre en les voyant, la musique autant que le décors, les isntruments et les musiciens en eux-màemes, splendide
Me remembering Focalors dancing on the piano one is making me cry

Genshin never disappoints in making music for us, that’s some welkin well spent
I love the colors in the theatre, makes me think of the water that represents Fontaine. Very beautiful, Genshin music never disappoints
One cannot deny how beautiful the music for Fontaine is. It's simply remarkable.
Best bits are 1:51 with the piano going wild, 2:44 with violin popping off, 5:20, 6:34 and 7:15 with the super cool descending notes and finally the piano absolutely shredding at 7:47. Insane theme that perfectly represents Fontaine
I really do appreciate how hoyo always puts lots of their budget in music. much respect for them big time
So much budget and yet they hired a guitarist to (poorly) play the lute
Using glasses of water for Fontaine’s music is actually genius
После выпуска всех регионов и завершения сюжета, Hoyoverse обязаны пойти с концертами по всему миру!
Это будет минимум через лет 5
Agreed

This song sounded mysterious at first, now it sounds sad😢
Exactly, now i feel sad for furina
0:17 This is what we called “Glassical Performance”.
You”re having a Cyno moment
CYNO. CORNER. NOW.
Pack it up Cyno
“Actionable pun detected”
Ba dum tss
The synergy between the visuals, music, and storytelling was masterfully executed, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to witness it. The seamless integration of technology and artistry truly set this performance apart, reaffirming Mihoyo's commitment to delivering unparalleled entertainment experiences?
I was expecting "oui oui baguette" type theme for Fontaine, but Hoyo decided to deliver "VIVA LA RESISTANCE" type song. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Edit : After knowing the current news, I'm sad to see the maestro of Genshin Music, master Chen finally departed from HoyoMix. But when I was told that this theme and all Fontaine OST was composed by Dimeng Yuan/Xuan Zhao and other composers that are trusted by master Chen himself, I can say that future of Genshin OST is in great hands.
OUI OUI BAGUETTE IM SCREAMING
lmaooooooo
La résistance [révolution] est tout aussi française que la baguette :)))
(The resistance [revolution] is as french as the baguette : such beautiful things married together........ 💘)
Well, the music is based off of a waltz so what did you expect
Well, one of Fontaines Dog is called Baguette
I was reading the comments andi noticed that nobody thanked them for their hard work, so i would like to thank every body who worked on these osts very much I really appreciate the work that the company has been putting so far and i love them very much❤❤ a traveler from iraq
I mean they get paid

Love the incorporation of Baroque instruments and water based instruments like the armonica in the music. Super hyped to hear more music of Fontaine come out!
Genshin's ost never stops giving me goosebumps
F***ing masterpiece. One of the best symphonies heard. 10/10.
People say genshin is a game for people without lives.
But the lore of the game and music goes deeper than those of the lives who speak ill about the game.
TRUE!!!!!
8:09 this part gives me chills down my spine, such a fantastic performance, bravo!
It's the Photon of Fluctuation motif again!
Maybe she's just acting
Hold up, you may up to something here.
I agree with you say but also I think she's also just traumatized from whatever celestia did 500+ years ago 💀 and now she has these 'laws' they uphold the heavenly principles so that her people won't meet the same fate as Kahrian (yes I forgot how to spell the nations name 😭( 6:16
You probably described the contrary of Furina
After playing the Archon quest I can confidently say that it is the most accurate description of Furina I've read until now. Let me save it somewhere.
Man I love LSO for it’s quality and willingness to play this kind of music… I personally love the fight theme so much… also, the beginning of the first piece reminds me so much of Saint-Saens Aquarium
This song reminds me so much of the “element of water”. It’s elegant, mesmerizing yet deceptive. There are both the wondrous wonders and the mysterious secrets hidden in its depths that will never see the light of day. And that make the water beautiful. It gives you this colorful imagery and takes your breath away!
7:20 mad respect for the player with the geo earrings
Wow great hawk eyes you got there 👀
lmao i just realised, mad respect
😂
They don't have to do this, but they do anyways. That's why I love Hoyo-Mix and Yu-Peng Chen. They outdo themselves every freaking time...beautiful
Listening to this after having watched Focalors' sacrifice hits so different..
3:37 and 7:48 This piano is truly beautiful music...
+ 7:48 ?
Best piano sound
Can't wait to hear Natlan's live performance
