"Is anyone here a Marine biologist"
George Castanza raises his hand slowly
The sea was angry that day, my friends
Cephalopod = Cephalua - head + Podos - Feet. Creatures who have their heads attached to their feet... like octopuses. Love your work and channel, specially the Planescape, planes episodes - hope you guys do one on all the outer planes and Sigil. Love your channel.
Yeah I think I was thinking about the word cetacean, not cephalopod lol. Thank you btw!!
I've been waiting for the Elemental Planes episode. Great job! And squid and octopus are cephalopods. You two are thinking of cetaceans.
Thanks for letting me know about the Dungeon Booth, was gold.
For the elemental plane of air and the Sun topic - I like the idea that the plane is essentially an endless sphere and the sun rotates around it, similar to how old astrologists viewed the earth with the sun rotating around it. So, if you stayed floating without moving or rotating, you’d perceive the sun is rotating around you, mimmicing the idea of rising and setting. Of course without anything to set behind or rise from it’d always be lit up, it’s just from what direction is it being lit. Of course, once you rotate or even if you enter - you’d have a hard time knowing the time because you’re also operating in 3 dimensions. Of course if you’re falling, you’d also eventually fall until you hit a center of gravity where moving up in any direction caused you to fall back to the center (and down would be up on the other side of it). Interesting concept
Thanks guys!
Yes! I was just wondering when there would be another Atlas Exterus.
Sound quality is really good on this one too.
Holy crap, Brian has hair. First time without a head cover that I can remember. Now we must find out what Will is hiding, snakes razors.... dragons? Could be anything.
Yeah I always thought he was bald.
"Head cover"
You mean a hat?
I’ve been waiting for this one for so long! Thanks for the awesome content!
8:18 I also like the idea of seeing a waterfall that has no top and at the bottom there’s a whole bunch of giant whirlpools
If you want to give yourself nightmares about what being stuck in the less-hospitable areas of the Plane of Earth would be like, read 'The Enigma of Amigara Fault'.
10,000 pearls seems like super-not-enough to build any kind of impressive genie palace. That's like, at best, 1.7 pearls per square foot... 10 million pearls or even 10 billion would've been a better choice...
Well what if the pearls were really big?
Imagine a campaign with the party going to the Elemental Plane of Fire to get Flametongue weapons. And then they fight Efreeti Genies.
Hey guys love the show. Quick correction, Xorn have three legs, kinda like a tripod. No idea why that is but it's pretty neat. Would love more episodes on different elementals!
Shout out to Demogorgon!
When somone dies on an elimental plane, they become a geinie of the assosiated eliment.
Also, genies are elimentals in D&D
If you die as an elimental, your soul gets destroyed in the prosess. ;(
I can't wait till my party finds the enchanted equipment of the eternal empires!
You can talk about the elemental plane of air all you want, but have either of you BEEN THERE? I'm referring to skydiving. Have you been skydiving? Because you should, you will see what being in the elemental plane of air for 40 seconds feels like. Spoiler alert: awesome. It feels awesome. Elemental plane of air for the win.
Jaws joke gets a 9/10 for creativity
Amazing job! Gj guys
I'm watching this after the sahuagin episode (which they did after this one) where Brian is like "Wait what there are Sea Elves??" Meanwhile here he's not that suprised of their existence
I'd think they'd be the most down the earth. LOL I see what you did there
Another great video, guys. I adore you both!
@25:34
Earth
Wind
Fire
Water
...
Heart?
Combine them with each-other, you get para-elimental planes.
Air+Water=Ice
Water+Earth=Ooze
Earth+Fire=Magma
Fire+Air=Smoke
Where they mix with positive or negitive energy, you get quazi elimental planes:
Air+PositiveEnergy=Lightning
Air+NegitiveEnergy=Vacume
Water+PostiveEnergy=Steam
Water+NegitiveEnergy=Salt
Earth+PostitiveEnergy=Mineral
Earth+NegitiveEnergy=Dust
Fire+PositiveEnergy=Radiance
Fire+NegitiveEnergy=Ash
Also, in my mind:
PrimeMeterialPlane + PositveEnergy = Feywild
PrimeMeterialPlane + Negitive Energy = Shadowfell.
So there had to be sun in Plane of Fire? What about that? And another question: how does Kossuth fit into the Plane of Fire (and the other primordials into their respective planes)?
Aye you guys ever plan to be put on spotify? Just curious
We were finally approved today :)

Great video guys! What is the best books 5e or otherwise to learn all about the planes?
I've always seen the elemental planes in dnd like body building pre heaven and hell from Gary gygaxs point of view of what makes us good men and women. The farther out it gets the harder it gets and true colors come out point of view. It's like going to heaven and tearing everything apart because you think they're weak, and spoiled sissies and then you got another guy who's just happy to be there.. my favorite plane is the negative energy plane personally.
Since lorewise the abyss is infinite and so are the forms of its demons does that mean it can create identical demons for every devil yugoloth demodand cambion and similiar fiend ??
Still disappointed no metallic or plant elemental. I was expect the earth elemental plane would be more like a hollow Earth theory with tunnels lead to different areas. That have glowing crystals or fungus to replaced to act like sunlight.
Majestic Gothitelle dude just fuck the lore that sounds awesome make it that instead!
WotC's elemental planes don't have to be your elemental planes. If you've got an idea that you like better, use it
I like to make the Earth Plane and Underdark into the same place. Or at least have them be continuations of each other (as in the Underdark is the part of the Earth Plane nearest to the Prime Material)
I’m interested in hearing about positive and negative energy planes💯
I am creating a Module for D&D 5e in the Plane of Air.
Please please please PLEASE show some love to the remorhaz! Best monster in the game
Whales are Cetaceans, Squids are Cepholapods
Wait what's between fire and air? x'c
What if in the plane of air, you willed gravity to be different for youself then it is for objects around you.
Whales and dolphins are cetaceans, squids and octopuses are cephalopods
no frostfell is not norse... jotunhiem is the norse equivalent, mabye your associating the name with game of thrones house stark which is based loosely on nordic culture. they live in winterfell which is similar to frostfell in name
