Shade auto smooth is now in the right click menu, and there are spiral curves with the extra curves add-on. if that helps at all.

This doesnt work for me at all. I did exactly as shown. Soon as I add displace the model explodes. an for some reason its squishing to one side and just wrecking the entire thing
