THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! My wife and I have looked at RV's for a year and a half, trying to find one that met our needs. Never found one that suited us. Finally, at wits end, we decided on just getting a Prevost. Not what we wanted, but frankly, just to dang tired of looking any further. I literally stumbled upon your channel, literally. Thank GOD our Father that I did. I learned about FMCA, which answered so many, many questions we were asking. Then of all things, I saw something that blew my mind...the most beautiful coach I had ever seen on one of the listings on you channel. A 2021 CornerStone Entegra, 45W. Cummins power, Allison Transmission, Led Lighting, and Etc, Etc... My wife and I had so many, many questions answered on your channel. As a supervisor, I teach safety to my fellow workers, you watch me, I watch you. At the end of the day, we all go home. This coach offers us "the" safety we were looking for. Never think you do not make a difference in people's lives. You have this night for my wife and I. We have found our coach (will have it made), go and get it, and will willingly be looking forward to the next FMCA rally to get "ALL" the info we need to motor safely. As you go through your day, the Devil oft times wants us to wonder do we really make a difference? In our lives you have. Because of you (And The Risen Messiah), our dreams will come true. Looking forward to seeing you on the Road...YOUNGSTERS.... Well done! Scottishxpride, Tx. P.S. We hit that subscribe button.
Hey guys,.......thanks for the wonderful comment! Sue & I are humbled everytime we hear that we actually helped someone. That makes the work so much more worthwhile for us. You bought a truly AWESOME rig! You will have all the power you need, and will have the new-ish steering control system that Entegra now includes. We also are patiently waiting to see how the Covid issue will settle down, because we are itching to go to another FMCA Rally. We took a pass on going to the Florida RV Show, which was such a treat for us in 2020. Texas is so big you can just drive around in it for the first 6 months, so you are all set. Keep an eye peeled for us on the road,........we are the one in the old 2014 Dutch Star "jalopy"!
I have a 2003 Newmar country star it has been the best motorhome I have ever owned I have always kept up and done the maintenance myself I paint RVs for a living and get to see a lot of different brands and hear a lot of different stories about warranties. I had an issue with the Newmar it was an electrical problem Even though I am the second owner of the Coach Newmar completely covered the cost of the repair you cannot beat their customer service. Love your videos
Thanks,..........we thank our lucky stars that we bought Newmar. We could have bought a much shinier new one in a lesser brand,.........but we now see we would have been sorry from all the tales that we hear.
Our Journey In Myles I’ve always wanted a RV or mobile home of "some" kind since I was a kid. Now at seventy and disabled, find myself watching your channel at least partially because your such a lovely and sweet couple...SERIOUS. keep on and keep on keeping on. Love from Nebraska.
We had a turbo speed sensor go out on ours, It was a pain dealing with the constant warnings but not to bad to replace! For it was much easier from underneath.
Good Morning Mark & Sue ☕️! We can't express or say enough about our NIRVC in Lewisville Texas! Everyone we've encountered have gone out of their way to make sure we've been taking care of with the utmost integrity, even though I didn't purchase from them. Regardless if you're getting repairs or upgrades, NIRVC is the place to go! #NotSponsored Happy Trails & Safe Travels
Good morning! Its nice that we have found a repair place we trust that has FOUR locations spread out across the US,.......and counting! We have been to the ones in Georgia, Texas and Phoenix. Looking forward to them snagging a place in Florida!
Mark and Sue hello, this was great! What better way to camp then to kick back outside a place that's all in one! Get the RV service and washed. I like a place that will wash the RV. hat comfort drive must be nice. "Loosey Goosey" 😜 What they let you stay overnight indoors! It's amazing how they handle those Motorhomes. It's nice that the billing invoice was so detailed. Glad you are back in business! Take care friends.
We agree! When you pay to have all this service done, at least when it is done timely, and in a professional atmosphere, I can drive away from the facility with peace of mind. I can also know that I can count on one of there other locations to help me when the times comes. When you travel full time, your need for future service is almost a certainty.
your very well spoken and convincing with your way of thinking ! you r the comfort drive spokesmen! i have a old dutchstar had her rolling 80mph but im a heavy dumptruck driver so mine is no biggie 4 me, but 4 the average Joe you seem Sold on comfort drive it must be sweet,
You are correct, I am sold on it. I sat in a chair in an engineering office for 40 years, so I need the help with the steering effort! No trucking background for this office old guy! Thanks for stopping by.
Another great video, Mark. I love these where you talk about your experiences with repairs and maintenance. Thanks for sharing your adventures and the expenses that go with. Safe travels to you and Sue.
Glad you like them! If the Newmar facility is open by the time we get there in August 2020, we will have a video on our experience their as well. Getting the FWS worked on.
@@OurJourneyInMyles Yes they will - we are trying to upgrade before we even get on the road fulltime. We will see if we do it or not. (from a 2009 to a 2020) LOL!!
Us too! We totally lucked out finding this place! We read all the reviews on irv2 and made an appointment years ago,.....and have been returning ever since.
Our Journey In Myles we just purchased our 2nd motorhome, a 35 foot gas from the same dealer we bought our class C from years ago. We are very close with their employees. We hope we meet up with you guys one day. We live outside of Madison.
Another great video, Mark and Sue!! Thank you for sharing your experience. As I'm in the market for a motorhome, I have been watching the sales videos from NIRVC by Angie. They explain the rigs very well. I am definitely considering doing a purchase through them. It is great to see their extensive service department; glad to hear you are happy with their service.
Our pleasure! Angie is the nicest person you can meet in person,.....and knows Motorhomes like few others do. Remember what I have come to know with all my heart, the most expensive motorhome is the one you bought from the wrong dealer. Motorhomes need a ton of TLC throughout the life of owning it. You need to have a great dealer to help you with all the issues that will arise during that journey.
@@OurJourneyInMyles Very wise words, sensei! It is very easy to buy a rig that you get pissed off at because you didn't know that it does or doesn't do something; or that it has a component sealed with cream cheese vice sealant. Due to being in the less populated part of CO, we'll have to travel for quality service. Hence, I'm not afraid to travel for quality sales.
Thanks for sharing! So glad to hear that from other MH buyers/drivers that experience the same level of service and professionalism we do. No one is perfect,.....but this place will always try to be the best.
You went to a great school. MSOE engineers were always a cut above,...no joke. Don't waste the years you have to do all your retirement and full time RV research now! It will go by really quick,.........and you will be ready to take the plunge.
I can't remember for sure but I think someone on the Newmar owners forum suggested pouring vegetable oil in the tanks after emptying every 3-6 months and open and close them a few times to make it slide easier. I've replaced them myself and it wasn't too hard but I was younger then.
Great point! I watched an RVGeeks video doing a replacement on these valves recently, and was getting ready to do it myself. The $186 labor was a much better way to go!
Interestingly enough, that on the new newmars, the comfort drive control is buried in menus as there is no physical button anymore. I mentioned this to a salesman and he said that most people set it and forget it. Having not owned one I really could not argue but thought this would step backwards in design. Spartan after more than a decade has finally come up with a version of comfort drive, but as far as I know, it is only available on there most expensive MH chassis. Happy trails
I can see how they would be tempted. I could just set it at 4.5 out of 6 and be good "most" of the time. The beauty of the knob was to instantly make the motorhome a go cart when you pull into a Campground. I DO NOT like fiddling thru screens and a menu to manually adjust something. I like to be able to tighten up the steering as needed on the fly. They should have asked me first!

As we start the thought process of transitioning from a sail catamaran to a Class A, the nerd in me gravitates to many maintanence videos as opposed to the shining bobbles in most videos. Salt water cruising is not for the faint of heart(or pocketbook). But the preventative maintenance is critical to take care of things on your own terms. Saw the driver chairs sitting on the garage floor right off. What was up with that? Another great video! SV No More Mondays
Hey David,....welcome aboard. The chairs came out of the rig next to us in the repair bays. Newmar had a chronic leather failure issue, and they stepped up big time by replacing ALL the furniture in MANY folks coaches, many time WAY past the normal warranty period. They are a stand up company,......and are continually proving it.
WEAK 😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍Mark and Sue I enjoy following you all on your channel. I'm especially entertained by Mark's witty sense of humor!! Keep up the good work.
Very informative video I was considering going there for retroband install and perhaps AGM batteries as well. Good to see they do professional quality work.
Thanks for watching! Bite the bullet on the Rettrobands. We went with Lifeline AGM batteries in June of 2017. If I was doing it now, I would cut to the chase and go to Lithium. This would lower my drivers side FRONT tire load substantially, which is the highest one on my rig. You need LESS batteries, and they are LESS weight per battery!
@@OurJourneyInMyles Very true. Might want to go to home depot get some sinter blocks. Put him up on the blocks. Sell them new tires and orange inserts on Craig's . Watching the pres. talk right now you might be up and running before the end of the month of April. "Keep America Great"...and keep on truckin!
All in all cost ~$4k wasn't too bad for the amount of work and parts :-D It was the retrobands that really put things over, but you can't put a price on the safety... That those will provide in the inevitable case of a blowout and not rolling your coach...
@@gman77gas I know you're trying to be funny, but I already told Dad to stop talking about that. It was sad watching my wife's grandparents, save all their money, only to have it all go to hospice care and the government... It broke my heart when they cried about not being able to leave anything to their family. I never think like that, I would rather they spend it all and live their retirement to the fullest and be able to die with little or no regrets, you only get one life...
That Big Gair is a blast! He & I have years of inheritance jokes under our belts. Before the stock market crash we are in, I was seriously worried I would be leaving way too much money behind. Now,......you have no worries Al!

Lastly please be careful with exposure to too many people during this Corona pandemic, be safe!!!
Mark, how much does the patented desk drawer dampening mechanism cost? What drawers will it work on. Have you considered using the door dampening mechanism as a refuse receptacle or would that violate your patent? Of course, you are the engineer and I am just a lawyer, so what would I know. Great video, as usual.
It has worked out to be a great stretching device for me because I have to step very high over it 20 times per trip. But I am hesitant to go for a mixed use patent because it is somewhat dangerous,....I have fallen over it on many occasions. Never thought about the refuse device "dual use" angle. I would worry about residue soil maybe?
Excellent video. I love how you do these maintenance videos with a mindset of, “What would prospective customers want to see and know in order for them to decide whether or not they would want to do business” at a given place. You make it seem just like being there! National Indoor looks to be a great place. Question for you if you don’t mind... I am needing a roof reseal, and am not feeling ambitious enough to tackle this round myself. So, of course I was curious to see about pricing for such a job. I notice those lines were all zeros on your invoice, I assume that is an “included” part of your purchase that covers you for a certain time period. Do you have any idea what the roof reseal would cost a person if paying “full rate”? Thank you, and safe travels.
I see now in the description that you did not initially purchase your RV from NIRVC. So, I know there is “some reason” that the roof reseal lines show $0, perhaps the cost is listed somewhere on there and I simply overlooked it.
We bought this MH used from a private person. All work was paid for. The "labor" for the reseal was item #4 for $1065 and ended up being 7.15 hours. At the end of the bill was about $150 is "supplies". ( about $149/hour) I am 67 years old, and would have issues working on the roof safely for the HOURS it would take to keep it in good shape. I had the roof pressure washed before the work was done. I had 9" wide tape seals replaced at the cap and body connections. Last week here in our resort, a guy fell of his ladder and luckily only broke his shoulder. I do not want to end my retirement with something like that. My bones have tested "osteopenia". I feel I need to have someone look at, and "dress up" the caulk on my roof about twice a year. It averages about $350 each time. This reseal was REQUESTED by me to be extremely thorough because I really trust this outfit,........and few others.
Very good info, much appreciated, thank you. I do now see the line item for the roof reseal. I agree that doing that kind of work is not for everyone, in terms of the height, duration, etc. Using a scissor lift is for sure the way to go. I hope your health will allow for many years of enjoyable travels, and you definitely are making smart decisions in terms of what you can/should do (or not do). Thanks again, take care.
A rolling house on wheels gets expensive.! So that $8300. Repair/maintenance bill can you share with the viewers in one year from year to year Your average cost of maintenance bills you inquire. Meaning was this service a one time deal or does things of this nature acure regularly.? Thanks for sharing this video & letting us see the process interesting
Anthony,..that is all laid out in our cost spreadsheets that you can request for free. Send an email to: ourjourneyinmyles@gmail.com Put "cost sheets" in the subject line.
No,.........we actually have had no issues with the DEF engine other than the inlet NOX Sensor. Nothing lasts forever. I just try to keep the average engine speeds up high enough to keep everything hot in the system, use good quality DEF, cross my fingers and hope for the best!
Our Journey In Myles thank you very much for your reply and insight. I have read of issues with the newer emission engines and yearn for the older engines with less issues and more horsepower.
You will find as you expose areas of your Motorhome that you are normally "not supposed to ever see" that you will find all sorts of construction debris left over from when it was made!
I would expect that if you had the appropriate equipment and are smart enough to know how to reset the error codes in the engine computer, you could do the job for the cost of the part on Amazon. I saw a few good examples of folks doing it on UA-cam so I knew what was involved, and felt comfortable with the number of hours I was charged. I was very happy NIRVC could do this for me while I was in there shop so I didn't have to go to a Freightliner Shop,......which normally does not go well for me. The only exception has been GAFFNEY SC FREIGHTLINER which is like dying and going to heaven.
@@OurJourneyInMyles I was the same way many years ago, but now days with UA-cam videos you could have tried and if failed then spend the hundreds of dollars with this very expensive shop. Resettting the error codes on the engine computer is simple with any OBII code reader also on UA-cam. Basically just select scan the codes button on the $39.00 reader then select erase the code. Its takes about 5 minutes. Now the one you showed on your video was a Professional scanner which cost more but now at Harbor Freight for $1000.00
I can't tell you how off I was thinking those Bladex Valves still had some life left in them! The new ones are so smooth now,.....best $186.25 I spent in a long time!
Noted! If you send me an email at ourjourneyinmyles@gmail.com and put "Comfort Drive Write Up" I will send you the best one I ever found that explains it all.
This was a stripped down Freightliner frame at a booth in the 2019 Tampa RV Show. The engine NOX Sensor is at the forward end of the engine on the drivers side. It was accessed thru the bathroom floor removable hatch.
The "real" last page to display would have shown the final Georgia tax, any environment disposal fees, and last minute shop supplies. I manually entered the Rettroband costs because I bought them during the a FMCA Rally discount special,......that is given at limited times only.
If you saw my rims up close, they are pitted around half of the nuts. If a person wants perfect rims, you have decide if you're going to make the investment in the time and energy. It really is a commitment to do all that cleaning and polishing. I am simply too lazy!
I love watching your RV lifestyle! I travel a lot and am in the process of converting an RV. Please enjoy my travel and garden videos when you have time and keep an eye out for my conversion videos soon!

Thanks Kevin! We have plenty more in store.
A great video.
Nice music.
Thanks for posting
Glad you enjoyed it. Just wanted to show everyone that working on the engine from inside the coach is not as scary as I thought it would be.
Well done! Instructive video - thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it! Glad to have you along!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Oh ya!!!!
At least when I am hunkered down in Florida during the Pandemic and can't travel, my repairs costs go way down,....
The inserts are YELLOW!
@@OurJourneyInMyles (◔_◔) (rolls eyes) I know this is as close as you can get to being serious about these topics. So I'll take it, be well and be careful out there, I love you and Sue and hope to have many years of memories to share with you and Lily. So try to make some time for us to visit and meet up with us from time to time ;-) Miss you guys, keep having fun and keep making great videos!!!
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it! If I was younger, I would have tackled half of this stuff,.....the bill would have been a lot less! It is what it is!
Send an email to: ourjourneyinmyles@gmail.com Put "cost sheets" in the subject line.
he made a video about all that super detailed and truthful!
@@OurJourneyInMyles I'll do just that thanks.!
Great informative video. Would you ever recommend to replace the DEF/EGT engine with a pre, non- emissions engine?
No,.........we actually have had no issues with the DEF engine other than the inlet NOX Sensor. Nothing lasts forever. I just try to keep the average engine speeds up high enough to keep everything hot in the system, use good quality DEF, cross my fingers and hope for the best!
Our Journey In Myles thank you very much for your reply and insight. I have read of issues with the newer emission engines and yearn for the older engines with less issues and more horsepower.
Why was there so much wood shavings and sawdust around the engine hatch?
You will find as you expose areas of your Motorhome that you are normally "not supposed to ever see" that you will find all sorts of construction debris left over from when it was made!
@@OurJourneyInMyles hehehe. Amish craftsmanship
I understand the work for warranty, but you are not allowed to put the sensor your self?
Now the one you showed on your video was a Professional scanner which cost more but now at Harbor Freight for $1000.00
Freightliner class super c is the best .class a are not safe 1st one at the wreck .engine up front where at belongs
Thats the way I went
I have to agree,....especially with the models out now. Basement storage is less,.....so you just take along less!
Kindred souls, I always try to replace BEFORE failure.
I can't tell you how off I was thinking those Bladex Valves still had some life left in them! The new ones are so smooth now,.....best $186.25 I spent in a long time!
Would love a Comfort Drive vid review! Thx!
Noted! If you send me an email at ourjourneyinmyles@gmail.com and put "Comfort Drive Write Up" I will send you the best one I ever found that explains it all.
10:24 what location is this, and where is that model?
This was a stripped down Freightliner frame at a booth in the 2019 Tampa RV Show. The engine NOX Sensor is at the forward end of the engine on the drivers side. It was accessed thru the bathroom floor removable hatch.
@@OurJourneyInMyles ok, do they do well with older motorhomes?
Just a second. Now I'm no math wiz, but all those numbers don't add up to $8300.00. What did I miss?
The "real" last page to display would have shown the final Georgia tax, any environment disposal fees, and last minute shop supplies. I manually entered the Rettroband costs because I bought them during the a FMCA Rally discount special,......that is given at limited times only.
Man those rims look great....secret?
If you saw my rims up close, they are pitted around half of the nuts. If a person wants perfect rims, you have decide if you're going to make the investment in the time and energy. It really is a commitment to do all that cleaning and polishing. I am simply too lazy!
I love watching your RV lifestyle! I travel a lot and am in the process of converting an RV. Please enjoy my travel and garden videos when you have time and keep an eye out for my conversion videos soon!
Thank you! Will do!
$8300. STUMPS !!!!!!!!!!!
Wasn't as bad as it looks,...$4500 was for the "run-flat" tire gadget! Thank GOD for my pension!
