Haha of course I got an IndyGuitarist(pre Wampler) Plextortiom like a month ago, and now the Pinnacle gets a redesign that finally adds the 3 band eq...Lol the one thing that kept me from the previous Pinnacle Deluxe😳😂😂 Oh Brian, you sure have a knack for separating ppl from their money!! And the sag switch makes it even better...Seriously, an already great pedal has just turned into an absolute must buy for any pedalboard!! What can be made better? Only thing I could think of could maybe be an expression jack that could allow someone to set up a stomp switch to switch between the Vintage/Modern settings...And that's seriously stretching! Bravo, Brian! You've made a 3 run home run into a Grand Slam!!
My buddy uses an ESP with EMGs and a USA Peavey 6505+ that's been modded a bit so the green channel breaks up sooner, and a Fulltone OCD. I use a Thinline Tele with a slightly hotter noiseless single bridge pickup and a Hiwatt DR504 from 1979... and this pedal can get my rig to match the tone of his to the point where you almost couldn't tell the difference alone, certainly not in a band setting. If taking a very clean, vintage British style amp and a semihollow tele into active boosted high gain USA rig territory isn't flexibility, then I don't know what is.
That’s awesome! I loved the Peavey 6505-s crunch sound. Have an Orange Rv50 mk1, The clean sound is amazing, but the distortion is very thick and boomy (stoner/doom)- not the crunchy sound I want I’ll try it with with this pedal, let’s hope it works out.
No but they're easy to find. Desertburst and you can find them for ~$1650. Or the newer Les Paul Studio Smokebursts look pretty awesome, too and are only $1500 new.
Just watched someone elses video and you andy could sell ice to a crakaddict Eskimo in the middle of summer in the sahara desert on the fourth of july 👍
he plays the song cleaner than Kim does... not as heavy with this pedal... when I play this song it's heavy as hell. I love watching Andy's interpretation of it. He always gives me new ideas to mix into songs that I fool around with
I don't know about this pedal, but typically boost is a CLEAN volume boost, while gain gives coloring to the volume, meaning you will get overdrive/distortion coloring to your tone in addition to a raise in volume.
The boost foot switch is pretty much a tubescreamer style volume and mid boost, the boost gain switch changes the gain structure rather than adds another gain stage subtle but has a different tone and feel.
LaMont Davis Was literally designed for that, and is the amp style Mr. Wampler demoed this pedal with on his channel. This demo right here is using a clean Fender Deluxe Reverb.
The old Soundgarden sound was a Peavey VTM, which is a hot rodded JCM800 circuit. Kim Thayil moved on to Mesa amps at some point; it's what they used live when I saw them a couple years ago.
I've always been impressed by how precise your playing is without a pick, especially when you go lead. Great review as always, thanks Andy!
Omg that Soundgarden intro was savage!
Probly the only video that demonstrates the pedal at lower gain levels
Outshined. Wow. Andy is my favourite guitar player!
Soundgarden! \m/
Outshined!!
That black Hagstrom is gorgeous.
@Science Fiction mine was made in Korea 😉
My viking in sweden fucking love it
So pretty much it’s a distortion pedal that can play light OD stuff all the way to metal. I like it
Everyone talking about soundgarden, but he is playing some bowie too!

Andy I've been watching for along time, and you are the boss!
I didn’t realize Paul Rudd had golden fingers!
(That’s a compliment in every sense btw)
nice to hear vintage Sound Garden
what a strong nail you have there
Sounds fantastic!! I'm buying one
SOUNDGARDEN!!!!!!
i cant stop listening to the gain boost part
I really like this demo and pedal. Thanks Andy!!! :)
"I'm looking california and feeling minnesota"
Outshined: i love you Andy. And the pedal too.
P.S. Is that Hagstrom stock?
This pedal sounds real bad ass on your les paul got to try one.

Great sounding demo! May I ask if you were running at 9 or 18 volts?
Soundgarden 😍😍😍
extraordinary review
Are the dark coffee brown bursts on Les Pauls still available? Love the way they look.
No but they're easy to find. Desertburst and you can find them for ~$1650. Or the newer Les Paul Studio Smokebursts look pretty awesome, too and are only $1500 new.
I hate v2 pedals. Makes me feel bad about buying the first one.
Unless they screw up V.2 and then what you have becomes highly coveted!
Ron R not really
What if someone releases a V.2 right at the beginning just to mess with people
Elephantricity don't you know that the v1 of anything will be better. Better tone, worth more, etc. 😬
Gary Jarvis Thats a good way of looking at it actually.
Andy is god of riff, fucking riff master
Sweet tones.
Wowzers.
I need this thing.
That Hagstrom is the bees knees!!
Just watched someone elses video and you andy could sell ice to a crakaddict Eskimo in the middle of summer in the sahara desert on the fourth of july 👍
like the alter bridge playing (with black guitar). greetings
OUTSHINED YEAH!
what awesome song is he playing at 2:50 reminds me of Leslie West HUGE
Dude Andy has picks for fingers lol
I need to learn to play like that
So this a custom badass with a 3 band eq and some boost option ?
Does anyone know what Andy is playing at 5:37, with the Hagström?
awesome.
2nd riff sounds so familiar
he plays the song cleaner than Kim does... not as heavy with this pedal... when I play this song it's heavy as hell. I love watching Andy's interpretation of it. He always gives me new ideas to mix into songs that I fool around with
west price no one but you knows who Kim is so..... enlighten please???
Thunder Death 2 betcha they do. Kim Thayil, the lead guitarist for Soundgarden. The guy that played the original solo.
west price aghh I know who he is , just not the name . the face I remember though. sound garden is the shit
Thunder Death 2 no worries, I'm getting up there in age
Soundgarden rocks and so does +ProGuitarShop.com
andy on fire.
Which drum machine is used if you don't mind my askimg?
Is it better this pedals or MI Audio Crunch box?
what amp did you use for the demo?
Fender Deluxe Reverb
So now you know...
Moonage daydream
What kind of hagstrom is that?
What is the difference in moving the boost switch from boost to gain?
I don't know about this pedal, but typically boost is a CLEAN volume boost, while gain gives coloring to the volume, meaning you will get overdrive/distortion coloring to your tone in addition to a raise in volume.
Gain is the standard gain structure, boost gives an overall gain increase. The standalone boost switch gives more of a mid-punch to fill the tone out.
The boost foot switch is pretty much a tubescreamer style volume and mid boost, the boost gain switch changes the gain structure rather than adds another gain stage subtle but has a different tone and feel.
Question: How does this pedal work on the clean ( fender) channel? Thanks
LaMont Davis epic on my fender bassbreaker clean channel
Alexander Acker which bassbreaker do you own?
John Williams 15!
LaMont Davis Was literally designed for that, and is the amp style Mr. Wampler demoed this pedal with on his channel. This demo right here is using a clean Fender Deluxe Reverb.
holy hell. I could watch Andy's right hand all day.......
hmm, that didn't sound too good
I mean 2:40
Any idea what that riff is from? It's driving me nuts.
someone check Andy for performance enhancing drugs ...dude is sick
What song is was?
Soundgarden Outshined
Misca Wamplouts
Soundgarden, Let me drown?
FallaciousScotsman outshined
FallaciousScotsman I thought so.
I think that sound garden sound was Peavey amps. interesting change.
outshined!
The old Soundgarden sound was a Peavey VTM, which is a hot rodded JCM800 circuit. Kim Thayil moved on to Mesa amps at some point; it's what they used live when I saw them a couple years ago.
What amp are you using?
Vox AC30
I plugged into one of these the other day. It sounded like absolute garbage.
😂
You should make a video high lighting the V2 pedal and not showing off your licks....90% is you, 10% is about the pedal.
