    Doesn't adding metal like titanium into BP, up the risk of spark/ignition while packing or compressing the powder into rocket engines?

    • @Pyrolife-net
      @Pyrolife-net  Рік тому

      Yes the addition of metal powder to the BP does up the risk and BP with metal added should never be rammed (with a Mallet) but can be pressed with much less risk.

      @@Pyrolife-net what material is the nozzle? you say clay and something else I can't understand !!! How you make it ?? Proportions clay (type you say) and paraffin?

    • @Pyrolife-net
      @Pyrolife-net  2 роки тому +1

      @@willowpine2604 Its called nozzel mix, a mix of bentonite clay, grit and paraffin wax heated up together in an oven and mix and screened. You can also omit the grit and just have waxed clay but it does work better with grit
      www.skylighter.com/blogs/how-to-make-fireworks/rocket-nozzle-mix?_pos=1&_sid=9cf4c8db2&_ss=r
      You can also use plain bentonite clay powder the wax and grit just make it a bit stronger and the grit also helps it hold in the tube

    could you please fix my problem. the tube is 10 cm length, diameter 23mm, the hole inside the fuel is 6 mm. I add clay in the nozzle and at the end. using black powder as fuel. it does not give fast thrust to fly why?

    • @Pyrolife-net
      @Pyrolife-net  Рік тому

      Sounds like your blackpowder fuel is not fast enough or the core (hole) is not long enough, or it could be other things hard to say without seeing it

      Thanks Bob, I also do the 3/4 and 1" sizes in these , for those I have some Firesmith tooling. Dont really know who does shell building vids maybe Ned Gorski. Search Fireworking or Fireworking 101 in youtube if you havent already found him. I will be building some shells in the next few weeks and will try and get some vids up.

      @@Pyrolife-net Nice, I did make my tooling by the book , When the book came out. Ya I'm old. I use short milled pine or willow with these, maby an hr or so. But I have used a bulkhead. I'm not going to this time but maby continue with the ti. tail delay. Yes I have been trying to see as much as Ned had done. When I found this new internet world thing in realized how much I was missing. He was a rocket guy name Soo many years ago when in was a shell guy. Family had never seen the buzz bombs before I shot a 6 volly a couple years ago. Going to try putting some on sticks this year . No rocket tooling anymore and only so much to order , and tools have gotten stupid expensive. Working on humidity and match . Hopefully get it weighed and maby made today. Have fun and be safe this is the bad month ya knows.
      Sir thanks ,

      @pyrolife is it correct to assume a limit on length exists, because at some point the extra hole would create instability? I suppose you could always have it near the center but then it would just spin in place for a long time 🤔

      I do have some tools from Woodys they are great gear and cant recommend them highly enough. The tools in the video are home made from Aluminum bar to suit the the tubes I had, made with a narrow nozzle and core to give good flight time
