@Dyna Spinner Oh nice! I was actually asking the original commenter because of the Gomez surname.
But yeah, about the all religions being equal it is actually a complicated situation in India to say the least. Because on one side we now have a Hindu Majority who decided to vote for a cultural nationalist party which claims religious superiority in India. So countering that has become the biggest concern for Catholics and other minorities in India. But on the minority side we also have Muslims who have their own plans which is suspicious to say the least. Presence of Pakistan backed terrorists in Kerala is also a big red signal. And we are very small when you consider the numbers. That is why I think many christians have decided to easily agree with the notion that all religions are equal. Its really sad when you think about it. Its an open trap and we have walked right into it.
We lost the reliance in God. We have decided that our survival only depends on the political control we have. We have forgotten how Christianity rose victorious in Rome amidst persecution. It was not by means of politics but by the deliverance of Christ.

In a hadith that was deemed reliable enough to be included in the renowned Ibn Kathir’s corpus, Muhammad declared that “Allah will wed me in paradise to Mary, Daughter of Imran” (whom Muslims identify with Jesus’ mother).
If few Christians today know about this Islamic claim, medieval Christians living in Muslim-occupied nations were aware of it. There, Muslims regularly threw this fantasy in the face of Catholic and Orthodox Christians who venerated Mary as the “Eternal Virgin.”
Thus, St. Eulogius of Cordoba, an indigenous Christian of Muslim-occupied Spain, once wrote, “I will not repeat the sacrilege which that impure dog [Muhammad] dared proffer about the Blessed Virgin, Queen of the World, Holy mother of our venerable Lord and Savior. He claimed that in the next world he would deflower her.”
As usual, it was St. Eulogius’ offensive words about Muhammad-and not the latter’s offensive words about Mary-that had dire consequences: he, as well as many other Spanish Christians vociferously critical of Muhammad, were found guilty of speaking against Islam and publicly tortured and executed in “Golden Age” Cordoba in 859.

I don’t think Mohammad meant wed in the physical sense. Only in the spiritual sense. Again ofcourse it was prelest of Mohammad to say that since he was not informed by Christian dogma. To imply the unmentionable would NOT correlate well with Muslims putting the Virgin Mother as a figure of veneration in their own Koran. Especially since they proclaim her to be an Ever Virgin in their own theology. Also, consider the fact that nuns are considered to be the brides of Christ in the spiritual sense when they take their vows. Mohammed was clearly importing this belief for his religion in relation to the Virgin Mother. Albeit incorrectly.

Allegation 1: The Prophet Gave “Free Rein to Carnal Pleasure”
Aquinas claims that Prophet Muhammad seduced people with promises of carnal pleasure, and his teachings encouraged such behavior. However, this is easily refuted by numerous Quranic verses and Hadiths that emphasize chastity and moral conduct.
      Rebuttal:
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever can guarantee the chastity of what is between his two jawbones and what is between his two legs, I guarantee Paradise for him" (Hadith).
He also stated, "The adultery of the eye is the lustful look, and the adultery of the tongue is lewd speech" (Hadith).
These teachings clearly do not endorse unchecked carnal pleasure.
Allegation 2: The Sahaba (Companions of the Prophet) Were “Carnal Men”
Aquinas suggests that the followers of the Prophet were driven by carnal desires.
      Rebuttal:
A companion, Sa’d ibn Hisham, asked Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about celibacy, indicating a willingness to abstain from even lawful pleasures for spiritual reasons.
In battles, companions asked the Prophet if they should castrate themselves to avoid sin, which the Prophet forbade, showing their extreme commitment to moral conduct.
These examples demonstrate the Sahaba's high spiritual discipline, contrary to Aquinas's claim.
Allegation 3: The Doctrines of Islam Appeal to the Simple-Minded
Aquinas argues that Islamic teachings are only understandable by those with modest wisdom.
      Rebuttal:
Islam's simplicity and natural appeal make it accessible to everyone, from scholars to common people. Truth should be universally comprehensible.
Paul in the New Testament (1 Corinthians 14:33) states, "God is not the author of confusion," which aligns with Islam’s straightforward message of monotheism.
Allegation 4: The Prophet Taught “Fables”
Aquinas claims that the Prophet’s teachings included fables and falsehoods.
      Rebuttal:
Allegations of spreading fables can be made against any religion. For instance, the Bible includes stories like that of a talking donkey (Book of Numbers 22), which non-Christians might view as fables.
Such general accusations lack specificity and do not constitute a substantive critique.
Allegation 5: The Prophet did not perform any miracles.
      Rebuttal:
Muslims believe the Prophet Muhammad performed many miracles. Examples include:
Pouring water from a small pot that sufficed for the entire crowd to perform ablutions.
Supplicating for rain in Medina, leading to an immediate gathering of clouds and rainfall.
Authentic reports accepted by all Muslims confirm numerous supernatural acts performed by the Prophet.
Allegation 6: The Prophet’s only evidence was military aggression.
Rebuttal: The Prophet Muhammad never claimed military might or political power as his only sign.
Military power as a sign is consistent with Jewish and Christian scriptures, such as in Psalm 143:2 and 1 Samuel 17:45-46.
Islam’s expansion and the transformation of historically significant lands are seen by Muslims as signs of divine support, similar to how Christians and Jews view their historical military successes.
Allegation 7: No wise Jewish/Christian men accepted Islam in the beginning.
      Rebuttal:
Several educated Jews and Christians did accept Islam early on, such as:
Abdullah Ibn Salam: A top Jewish rabbi in Medina who converted to Islam.
Salman Al-Farsi: A knowledgeable companion who was a Zoroastrian, then a Christian, before converting to Islam.
Recent Converts: Many educated individuals, including former priests, have continued to embrace Islam over the centuries.
Allegation 8: The Prophet forced people to become Muslim.
      Rebuttal:
The Quran explicitly states, "There is no compulsion in religion" (Quran 2:256).
Conversion to Islam through force is not valid.
Prominent companions of the Prophet, like Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali, were not forced to convert.
Allegation 9: Islam distorts the legacy and teachings of the previous Prophets.
      Rebuttal:
Islam acknowledges the previous prophets and claims to continue their monotheistic teachings.
Jews and Muslims both believe that Christians misinterpret the Old Testament to justify the Trinity, deviating from pure monotheism.
Allegation 10: The Prophet completely forbade Muslims from ever reading the Bible.
      Rebuttal:
The Prophet Muhammad did not forbid Muslims from reading the Bible.
The Prophet advised caution in using the Bible for guidance but allowed its study for comparative religion purposes.
Unlike the medieval Catholic Church, which restricted access to the Bible, Islam allows educated study of previous scriptures.
      Closing Advice:
Just like you would not ask a doctor to teach you about how to build a building, you should not be basing your knowledge of Islam from Christian sources. Always learn Islam from Muslims and Muslim books such as the Quran.

The enemy's agenda is to keep the Christians and Muslims from uniting. The Muslims actually have a prophecy that they will unite with the Christians to defeat the Antichrist in the end times. My working hypothesis at the moment is that Muhammad was genuine but got co-opted by the Old Testament people. That would explain why there are certain things said in Islam that directly contradict Christianity. If you were creating a proxy army to fight your enemy, planting contradictory doctrine would be something that would be useful for you. They have remote mind control weapons today that can project voices, dreams, and visions into people's brains, so maybe they had it back then too.

His own "personal" Revelation (doctrine & covenants) plays almost no role in Mormonism unlike his translation project (Book Of Mormon). This is what his life's work basically comprises of, aside from setting up churches etc.

The fundamental teachings of each founder Jesus verses Mohammed are radically different even to a casual reeader. Jesu's message is love, verses Mohammed's message of submission, submission to the point of utalizing violence and cohearsion if necessary. History shows how the two differant religions spread at their inception. Islam is based upon the principle of violence verses Christianity, which is based upon the principle of love.

. Burrell provides additional facts that are important to consider. In Summa Contra Gentiles, Aquinas admits he is ignorant of Islam.33 Despite this, Aquinas wrote another work entitled Reasons for the Faith Against Muslim Objections. The key feature of this work is that Aquinas did not debate the Islamic position but merely reiterated the doctrines of the Church.34 Michael Frassetto expounds on the content of this work. Reasons for the Faith was composed after Summa Contra Gentiles, and it contained a more concentrated critique of Islam.35 Aquinas made two points pertinent to this discussion. Firstly, when Muslims argued that the Eucharist was ‘logically impossible,’ Aquinas charges Muslims with “excessive materialism”.36 Indeed, Muslims are portrayed as people who deny miracles regularly, such as the Christian miracle of the mass, whereas Aquinas portrays Christians as readily accepting miracles. He emphasises this when he charges Muslims with being “carnal” because they “only think of what is flesh and blood”.37 Because Muslims are so materialistic, Aquinas refuses to prove Christianity to Muslims; since, they can never understand what is beyond matter. Secondly, as Frassetto writes, Aquinas was “deeply hostile to Islam” and provided a “deeply offensive and negative caricature of the life and teaching of Prophet Muhammad”.38
A final piece of the picture is supplied by Henck Schoot. The most repeated point Aquinas touched on in his critique of Islam was the physical pleasure found after the Resurrection. sapienceinstitute.org/polemics-as-caricature/

Most Catholics have no idea that there is no current Muslim believer today that orientates his daily prayer (qibla direction) towards the direction that Muhammad mandated in the Quran. Current GPS data of ancient qibla directions of Islamic mosques reveal that in the first hundred years after Islam's founding that ALL of the qibla's pointed towards the city of Petra in the country of Jordan. And, after this, almost all new mosques were either directed to a barren wasteland desert in between the original Petra and the new site at Mecca. Then, in about 750AD in North Africa and Spain, the Mosques were orientated towards a parallel to the direction of Petra and Mecca even as new Mosques built in the Middle East were starting to point towards Mecca. And, finally, all Mosques by about 800 AD were mandated to be uniformly pointing towards the current Mecca in Saudi Arabia.
There is a problem here, as Muhammad mandated that the qibla direction should be towards "The Masjid Al Haram" as he knew it ...and prayed towards...in Petra. This is to say that even if he was a prophet he still could not FORSEE beforehand that his followers would move the Masjid Al Haram to a new location that he did not even know of...down to the current location at Mecca, about a 600 mile distance south from his mandated location.
Google "The Sacred City" on UA-cam and you can view the GPS coordinates of many of these early Mosques. This is all to say...that the current Mecca is basically a fraud and imitation of the original Masjid Al Haram at Petra (the one that Muhammad established).
Catholics should really catch up on this new 'qibla' archeological data, as all apologetics regarding it these days seems to be coming from Protestants such as Dan Gibson and Jay Smith...both of which are doing incredible work on exposing this false history of Mecca (being promulgated by current Muslim scholars, kings, imams and other leaders).

Hillaire Belloc’s excellent book, “Five Heresies” is really a must- read for anyone who wants to understand the times we live in.
His final chapter, on Islam, describes the final battle as being between Islam and Christianity- this is the same theme as CS Lewis in the final book of the Narnia series.
Islam is a heresy of Christianity with enough truth in it to all it credible but as a Belloc states- all heresies to be believable must contain truth and also a distortion of it.

I’m a Muslim from Bosnia who was raised in the United States before coming here to Turkey at age 23, my wife is a Polish American former Catholic. I mean no disrespect with my question, but I am confused by Aquinas connection between Islam, the Prophet (AS) and carnal pleasure...?
Islam values denial of carnal urges and goes beyond Christianity in the requirement for hijab and modesty, the prohibition on alcohol and the fact that pork and other foods are strictly forbidden to us. I can imagine that there are Christian criticisms of my religion which, while false, are at least dependent on true practical and doctrinal difference but those are at least coherent.
Can you explain further this issue that Aquinas and by extension, you have?

    • @mariemunzar6474

In the Quran there are indications of it, I'm sure you read it though. Christianity is much stricter on marriage laws, men may only take one wife and Catholicism does not allow divorce, contraception is also not allowed. Modesty is good however carnal pleasure is not exactly the same thing. Men are not to look at women with lust as it already counts as adultery in the heart, divorce and remarriage not allowed in my religion.

I was researching satanism a few years ago and there were links to Islam. I began listening to Christian and Muslim apologetics debating. I started studying Islam and everything I read and heard pointed towards satan. The qur’an says a lot of nice things about Jesus, but the qur’an denies Jesus’ divinity and denies his crucifixion, so there was no resurrection. There is only one name that comes to mind who would love to deceive the whole world in believing Jesus is not GOD and Jesus did not die for our sins. Satan! This concept is the basis of Islam that Allah has no children. That pushes Jesus Christ over to the side. I heard that Christians, Jews, and Muslims worship the same GOD. NO we do not! Christians and Jews pray to and worship the same GOD YHWH. I came to the realization that Allah is satan. The Muslims worship the god of this world, and not the eternal, creator. Satan is a master deceiver. Allah has no children. The Muslim has a master/slave relationship with their god. WE have a child and a loving father relationship with our GOD. Allah lies. Our GOD does not. It isn’t in his nature. Allay schemes. Our GOD does not need to. Allah deceives Our GOD is the truth. Deceiving is not in his nature. Allah hates. Allah hates non-believers, and Allah hates people who hate him. Our GOD loves. Hate is not in his nature. Allah commands his disciples to kill or violently subjugate non-believers. They are allowed to kill, steal, and rape in the name of Islam. A Muslim is allowed to deny Allah if he believes his/her life is in danger. A Muslim is also permitted to lie to evangelize/ convert people to Islam. We are not allowed to steal. We are not allowed to kill. We are not allowed to have sex slaves. Jesus said, “ You deny me I will deny you in front of my father.” We are not allowed to lie no matter what the reason. Islam is not a religion. It has a religious spin, but it is a system of government. Their goal is for the whole world to be Muslim, worshipping Allah, and Jesus in not the Son of GOD. Islam is a satanic cult! GOD Bless America! GOD Bless the American people! Together let’s “ Make America Great Again “ in 2022 and 2024.

“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the faith: all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.” Sir Winston Churchill, The River War, 1899.

I personally do not expect neither objectivity nor intellectual honesty from medieval inter religious polemical works as the academic standards that we hold dear to us today were not part of the academic expectations of people living during the time of thomas aquinas
But, judging from many of the comments I read here, I wouldn’t say I understand how people living in 2021 rely on the methodology that was appropriate only for medieval Scholasticism

Very good!! I knew Aquinas was very critical of Averroes and so called Latin Averroisism thought. Christians should also check out St John of Damascus's "Concerning Heresy" specifically chapter 101 the "Heresy of the Ishmaelites" which is one of the first Christian critiques and condemnations of Islam which he calls a Christian heresy because Muhammad had a knowledge and interactions with the heretics like the Nestorians of the Arabian Peninsula and others. He called Muhammad a false prophet and an Antichrist. Muslims claim to believe the Torah and even parts of the NT as inspired scripture yet most of the Koran is a meshed together twisted distortion of the already received Old Testament scriptures. Why did it need to be revealed(with changes made) by Muhammad again? Just proves that Islam was made up by Muhammad and at worst his visions were most likely from the demons. Islam is a demonic pusedo religious political philosophy that Muhammad made up as a tool to conquer Arabia which is how Islam spread very differently from Christianity. Keep in mind a lot about Muhammad and the "holy" city of Mecca are outright fabrications by the first Caliphs of Islam like Abu Bakr and Umar etc these people including the so called Muhammed were all illiterate so a lot doesn't add up about their own history

I've often joked that the Mormons and Jehovah Witness' are double Protestants. Since they seem to protest the other Protestants more than regular Protestants protest the Catholic Church.

forbidding the practice of female infanticide in the tribes of his region was a good thing. and he loved his first wife. but his treatment of women after his rise to power was not worthy of a true prophet of God and this bad example continues to hinder the place of women in Muslim countries to this very day, unfortunately.

He is the best sample on how treat your woman. He is a general, a Father, a Husband, a Merchant and a Prophet. Your Jesus and Aquinas are not in the Position to teach Muhammad about all of these things. He was more advance on that subject.

There is nothing offensive about converting people from Islam. It is a duty. People are not equal at all. Neither physically or in character. We are similar and dissimilar. Equality is only this. To be treated with justice by the law. To be treated fairly. God does not love is equally. God loves humanity. Gods love for each of us is unique and tailored to us. He does not love me in the same way or for the same reasons as you. He lives my virtues and hated my vices. My vices are not the same as yours.

It is so weird that a British Muslim apologist actually has Aquinas as his UA-cam avatar. When I questioned the him about the choice and quoted to him Aquinas's views about Islam, the Muslim apologist merely said that he admired Aquinas's brilliance.
The dude was being coy about the nature of his videos and wasn't even self identifying as a Muslim and obviously trying to attract Christians into clicking on his channel after which he would promote Islam and cast doubts on Christianity. You only became aware he was definitely a Muslim after you read what his Muslim followers were saying in the comment section.
Using Aquinas as a clickbait. Who would have thought.

Thomas Aquinas got Islam 180 degrees absolutely wrong, but predicted a future religion perfectly correct-Mormonism.
One needs to go no further than this blood chilling 1857 sermon from supreme Mormon prophet Brigham Young:
“Will you love your brothers and sisters when they have a sin that cannot be atoned for without the shedding of their blood? Will you love that man or that woman well enough to shed their blood? That is what Jesus meant. The time will come when the law of God will be in full force. This is loving our neighbor as ourself: If he needs help, help him; if he wants salvation, and it is necessary to spill his blood upon the earth in order that he may be saved, spill it.”

How to reconcile this with the catechism? Paragraph 841 says: The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day.

    • @ungas024
      @ungas024 2 роки тому

The keyword is they "profess" meaning they "claim" that they hold the faith of Abraham. Nothing wrong with that and doesn't conflict with the Church stand on Muhammadans.

Loving Muslims is praying for their conversion - Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

No arguments Offered here . Seems like Aquinas was having anxiety attacks even while speaking about Islam , when he called Muslims as desert wanderers let him remember that Jesus and most prophets of the Old Testament were as well , so if that’s his criteria he shouldn’t even be Christian and let him also remember that those desert wanders went on to conquer the Christian superpowers in the world. Aquinas’s career is nothing without the writing of Muslim philosophers such as Avicenna and Averroes.

I thought I was the only one looking through these comments thinking wow this guy knows very little about the nature of Islam. Just from the very beginning.
I’m not saying that Islam is the true path, but they certainly don’t see what true Muslims are like. Nor do they know true Christianity.
Within religion there is some truth. Yet the whole world, Christian & Muslim have been deceived.
It’s easy to spew propaganda about foreigners & enemies.
Most of the Christians here are probably as Christian as the taliban are Muslim. They aren’t.
