I think Kyrie is actually being embraced in Dallas and that’s the biggest difference between Dallas and the other 2 teams. Feels like he’s at peace with himself and where he’s at. You can kinda see it in his face when he speaks at media and press conferences.

I’m the one who got him traded (because I’m the one who showed him the correct, proShemitic documentary he tweeted a screenshot of) and when he got traded, just just so happened to get traded to my Mavs to my ultimate delight! Yahuah God blessed us even more! I told everyone who of course was hating, that it would work out, and literally a year later, here we already are lol

100%. I HATED the kyrie trade at first, BUT, kyrie has made me eat crow. His attitude is right, his play is right, everything is right. His action and words have changed my opinion of him, and I'm glad he's here. I hope he ends his career as a maverick.
The fact that every show today is talking about how the T-wolves' need to change their entire defensive scheme when they have all been debating whether their D is the greatest all-time only validates SVGs comment at the start of the game.

Normally your takes are pretty spot on but it doesn't really seem like you've been paying attention. Kyrie has been extremely outspoken about having found a real home in Dallas. This stage in his career, it most likely is his last stop. As far as the series, Mavs shot terribly from 3 and McDaniels will never have another game like that in his NBA career 🤣🤣 To dismiss this as "wellll Wolves stars didn't play well sooo they'll win the next one" Thats just lazy

While I agree Mavs fans should also be scared at the fact Luka and Kyrie both had 30+ point games and played very well and only won the game by 3 points. All while KAT and ANT shot 12-36 and were both very bad. If just one of them played halfway decent the Wolves win that game.

Wolves were red hot from 3 and still lost. Like I said before wolves don’t know how to keep home court advantage.
@@anthonyrodriguez4929 The Mavs have lost a game at home in every series too not sure that matters much. Last series Denver took both games in MIN. The mavs are not a great 3 point shooting team outside of Kyrie. DJJ is a career 31%, PJ 35%, THJ 36%, so I wouldn't worry about them hitting 3's. PJ and DJJ have been playing far above what their careers tell you they are. Not saying they will shoot that bad again, but I'm saying ANT and KAT are both going to be much better. Not saying who will or won't win I'm obviously rooting for the mavs, but my opinion is the Wolves are the better and deeper team with 2 all NBA players, a 4x DPOY, the 6th man of the year, and 2 guys this year that both made all defensive teams.

@@MrMathsimon I know that. But he said Wolves are Vegas favorites even after losing game 1. That is factually incorrect. Look it up. Matter of fact, Home favorites nearly always become underdogs after losing game 1 at home. Unless they were massive favorites to start with.
I don’t see how the Wolves are favored to win the series. Even before last nights game I felt they would have a hard time against the Mavs just because they’re such a different beast than Denver was. They can kill you in multiple ways…they’re hard to defend.
In general, Mavs play better the 2nd game. Lost the 1st and took the 2nd game vs. Clips and vs. OKC. If they keep protecting the paint, the role players get their open 3s (cause the T-wolves will be blitzing Luka more now) - I'm expecting a 0-2.

Luka is underrated
As a Mavs fan, I can understand why people don't like Luka. He is very slow, yet makes subtle moves to score or pass. His game looks ugly, but he still puts up big numbers. He conplains a lot more than I would like him to. He looks like he is out of shape, but I think he is playing with an injury right now. They say he sucks on defense, but he has become a very good defender this year!

@mihamim4262 He is a top talent in the NBA. That wasn't to trash him. Some players look flashy, but aren't great players. Luka doesn't look flashy athletic, and he plays a slow style, but still trips up defenders. It's weird to watch.
Wolves didn’t play good? They nailed 18 3-pointers. Mavs only made 6. The fact the Mavs won doing that should concern Minnesota more.

So the TWolves sold out on stopping the corner 3 (which is the Mavs bread and butter, at least as far as 3s are concerned) and did an amazing job at it. However I think that came at a cost of the inside as well as energy. And I don't think you can say they played great when the damage inside was significant, 62 points. Especially since Dallas was 24th in paint points this season at 46.9 per, and TWolves in the playoffs only give up slightly less than 44/game in the paint. I would think you need to push that number down even if it means allowing a slightly better shooting % from 3. However, I'm just good with numbers and don't know too much in terms of Xs and Os of defense.
@@keiththuemmel3553 it's the playoffs, it's not the regular season. The Mavs haven't been a 3 point shooting team since the trade deadline. The wolves didn't stop the corner threes, the mavs don't take them as their offense. It was the adjustment against the OKC because that's what they gave up. The Mavs have been a team who scored in the paint. The wolves didn't take anything away at all. That said the mavs do not shoot that low from three. The attempts are usually slightly higher but they are definitely more efficient.
I think it's funny when athletes get punished by media when they tell the truth.

I actually liked Ant's response. It was honest and not some 'PC' answer we're so used to hearing. I also feel 'tired' means more than physical. They were mentally drained. A young team just beat the champs in a game 7. The Mavs wanted it more and it was obvious. Now let's see if the Wolves can respond.
Dallas didn’t play great either…. Quit it with the Wolves played bad like that was the reason. If the Mavs wouldn’t have shot abysmally from the 3, missing several open looks, it would have been even more convincing of a win.

The Wolves have played the best defense in the league this season. And Luka and Kyrie haven't played well in the playoffs. And Luka is injured. And Ant might pick up his defense, now that he's rested a few days after the Nuggets-series. The Mavs will likely shoot better than 24 %, but might stay below 30 %.

I don’t think anything Kyrie did or said over the past few years was that controversial. People just way overreacted. He refused an experiential gene therapy shot, said the earth was maybe flat (who cares), and said some stuff about Jews that way more people also think but won’t ever verbalize because they’re afraid of the social ramifications…. doesn’t change the fact that he’s an incredible basketball player. I hate when media says Kyrie wanted out of Cleveland cause he wanted his own team. This will come out when everyone's career is over but Cavs were trying to trade Kyrie in a multi team trade which would get them Paul George from the Pacers and LeBron had signed off on that trade. The trade never went through and now Kyrie wanted to be traded cause he couldn't trust that team and LeBron after that. Call him naive or immature but dont label him as someone who wanted his own team cause his actions never said that. He wouldn't team up with KD if he wanted his own team.

So, i hear that Kyrie is coming to Dallas and my heart sank.... The last thing Dallas needed was a head case..... That was then! Now? Well first off, Ky has not said ANYTHING negative since coming to Dallas, about anybody or anything! What i came to appreciate about Ky is, he is an extremely complex and beautiful individual, who also happens to be one of the best athletes in the NBA! Since coming to town, all he has done is support ANYTHING Kidd throws at him with grace and ferocity and in return, Kidd has let him do his thing here for the most part..... So, i went from not liking him at all to praising him as part of the glue of this team! And he has also changed Luka's head as well!! All you see or hear is their mutual respect and love, and it drives the entire team...... and yeah, Ky can contribute as much as he wants at any time but has chosen to bring others in instead a major component of the Chemistry here! But i am willing to believe he went to Jason before Game #1 and said, "I need to put Ant-man in his place!" then went out and did it...... So, before you start over-analyzing (emphasis on the "anal"), stop and say the obvious..... "You know, Kyrie is really the heart & soul of this Mavs team!" and just shut the fuck up after that!

I think the Kyrie story is a very simple story. He took trolling too far. What started with flat earth ended with racism. The NBA correctly shunned him for this. He knows he went too far his only chance was to came back with humility. Now 30+ he's a full human adult helping the young guys out. I really love 30+ Kyrie.

KD, Harden and Kyrie played 16 games together at Brooklyn. Even with that few games, they were sailing to a championship. Giannis had to put Kyrie on the injury-list to eliminate them in the playoffs.
KD isn't the problem. Harden can be but what started the dysfunction is Kyrie's 'oh im not anti vax im just stubborn' act which he is definitely known for then Harden got pouting but KD tried to salvage it but really just set the stage for an exit of their big 3.

Some of the whistles came really late but more importantly, MIN has to be better at shot selection and KAT has to take advantage of his mismatch and stop settling for 3s
