  • I know, I know, I'm about a year late to the party on this one, but my 13-year-old son asked that I do a reaction to the Dream face reveal and follow up video because he feels that it would help me understand his own experience with bullying better. I never watched Dream's content or knew of him before this but I am ready to go throw down to defend this guy! Nobody should feel pressured to be anything but themselves!

You may have received a lot of judgment and insults by people around you, but their voices do not speak for everyone. I often hear "everybody hates me" or "I'm so unlovable." Sweetheart, not everybody knows you. Your sample of the population is skewed. We'll love and protect you here 💖

Literally me every day. Thank you so much for reacting to this! Literally my biggest fear….showing my face on the internet and being judged. I was judged about my looks all my life and now I’ve gotten really insecure. Unfortunately dream had to face a lot of hate, judgement, and now false accusations from haters after he posted this video. I will probably never show myself for this EXACT reason. Again thank you for reacting to this you are amazing!

@@OctaniumYT It's about knowing that there are hateful people and loving people (aka hurt people and healing people) and being comfortable enough in your own skin to not give a crap about the opinions of either!

@@MentalAmanda You're right. Honestly I do feel like I take things a little too seriously and some people call me "too sensitive" however my therapist says otherwise and that I am not sensitive but a little more traumatized considering all the bullying and abuse I have went through and I guess after going through all of that I take things too negatively. Again thank you so much for reacting to this and your words of encouragement! I wish the best for you!

Would you please give "All good things - For the Glory" a shot?
They are wildly unknown but they pack a punch. While they usually do songs about being the underdog - this on is all about being unstoppable. Id be thrilled to see SOMEONE bring them to light as i havent had any luck with reactors in general.
    Cheers!

I watched a lot of Minecraft around the time Dream was huge on line - and nothing about what I saw gave me the impression Dream was really that insecure. His face reveal had become a big deal out of all proportion and I think the first video, he was making fun of that.
It’s true a lot of people roasted him - but mostly in good humour as far I was aware (from a distance) due to the big fuss that had been made about “why is he keeping his face secret” etc.
I think it’s also true that around the same time, Minecraft views were dropping for all the Minecraft content creators, and he possibly did see a big drop in views, but I doubt that had anything to do with his face reveal, and the second video I think was him using it as an excuse to try to “relaunch” himself with content with his friends that had previously had good numbers (the man hunt series he was advertising in the second video had been one of the things that had made him huge, and they hadn’t done that for a while, since before the face reveal) , and I didn’t see anything in the second video that suggested it was seriously how he felt. The whole idea of them making a complex 3d printed mask etc was deliberately over the top and riffing of the idea of him being a super hero on a journey to rediscover their super power - like revealing his face had been his kryptonite.
But I love how seriously you took it and shared the very true and real advice that I hope people find useful and helpful. That empathy shows what a good person you are.
I could be wrong - like I say, I only followed the whole Dream face reveal story through other people’s Minecraft videos with them talking about it, and also seeing him playing in their videos. If anyone who actually watched his videos knows better and there really was some genuine anguish on his part, feel free to correct this - but that second video to me was intended to be funny, and was meant to be taken that way, not that he was actually upset at all. Maybe the humour didn’t work if you didn’t realise he was not really insecure about how he looks - that had not been why he was hiding his face in the first place - he just valued his privacy as I understood it.

Watching the second part of this video, it really makes me sad & pissed off at the same time. Why are people so judgemental and putting so much stock in what we look like. This is so sad. Don't listen to those put you down for your looks. You are beautiful and don't let anyone tell you any different.

I understand how Bryston feels. Growing up, I was a square peg trying to fit in a round hole. At least he has a great Mom who takes a positive approach to what he is going through. He is stronger than he thinks he is. But he has support. If people can't except you for who you are then they don't deserve to be your friend.

I will never understand being so affected by being called ugly. But then I consider myself ugly when others don't. So if people call me ugly (which is rare) I just say "yeah I know, don't care".

A lot of people define their worth by their looks, their job title, their bank account, the approval of others or some other arbitrary thing!

I don't understand why people would bully this guy. I don't see anything wrong with him. I think he's pretty funny. I would hang out with him.
