    8:18 so in regards to the sharpness! I chatted with Blake and he said he sharpened this at 35 degrees per side, which is a pretty high degree compared to most other Balis that usually are sharpened to ~25 degrees (MachineWise does 27.5 and the Gaboon is at 22 degrees.) This was to make the blade still capable of cutting without being able to take your finger off! So because of this higher degree angle a paper cut test isn't really fair because it's not going to be slicey, which is what a paper cut test would typically show off. So this is technically sharp just not slicey.

    I would love to see a review of that. I always thought that thing looked cool, but this video further solidified my interest in it. We need some awesome b roll of this guy! Great vid Jon

      Definitely planning out a full review for this. I was just too excited to not do this unboxing. I hate giving first impressions because I don't think it accurately represents the full experience but glad you enjoyed this!

      I did the math and it's closer to $7k on just the titanium Balis ☠️ I'm not proud of myself and am ashamed of my poor self control on the purchases. Got out of hand really fast. Fucking balisongs why you gotta be so tempting.

    8:52 I can feel the grip on those handles through the screen, but then it's probably you who's so good at fixed ladders😊
    10:33 that first drop hurt 😢😢😢
    15:04 def sounded better after adding carbon honey, had that ring I was expecting
    Wonder how many weight systems are there? And a close up on the blade would be nice! Thx for sharing this unboxing with us (even though it's not my Nakiri😅)

      Thanks, homie! Fixed ladders are about the only thing I do this well and they feel great on the nakiri for sure! Loving the grip it had to offer. Guna make a full review after I've spent some time with it.

      @@otterflipsnorock I suggest practicing with a pen for fixed ladders, from there practicing with the balisong closed because if you can keep the handles together when it's closed you'll be able to keep them together when it's open!

      Man tough to say out the gate probably need to spend some time with this and do a more thorough review this was just too exciting for me to not share right away. One thing I just shared with Blake was that it feels like it's three different knives when you swap between the weights. With the heavier weights in it has a little bit of a feel of the A51 Phobos but only in weight, no weights it's a little MachineWise Serif like though it has more weight. Honestly it's its own knife at the end of the day. feels very unique.

      @@JonsBalisongBlunders fo sho! I own some Machinewise, some squid, i really really want a tsunami thats my next grail and what im saving and looking forward to, also maybe the hydro. But even as blessed as i am i dont think i could bring myself to spend anything over like 750 for a knife unless it really resonated with me or something. Not trying to get into a price debate, just expressin myself lol i luckily got both my serif and opus for about 590 each

      @JonsBalisongBlunders  8 місяців тому +1

      @@0ViciousV0 it'll be tough to get a tsunami under $750! Unless you're going for a trainer but even then. And no worries about the prices, I'm with you generally on not paying over $750. My collection says otherwise but it has it's own mind 🤣

      @JonsBalisongBlunders I watched a video with deylan from machinewise and he does an epic icepick soundtest ... it inspired me to get good at it as well. You can make the craziest sounds with slifT or any other titanium bali. When you hit a certain piont with them you can even get lost in the sounds they are crazy.
