- I have spent a stupid amount of money on balisongs in the last few months. as I continue to increase my abilities to flip it is becoming more and more clear that if you are spending more than $500 on a balisong You are really just collecting them because the flipability truly doesn't increase in my opinion. however the certain feel you get from a bala song does increase and that can deepen your connection to it but it doesn't truly flip better than any variant you can get for less than $500. Things that you should look for in a bala song that is more than $500 are the rarity of it as well as the QC work on it. another thing to consider is the amount of time the individual maker puts into creating the balisong. My revenge of the Blades Arsenal has a custom blade that was hand ground This is a huge reason why it is $900 Even though it uses a non-premium steel that is the same used in a squid industries Krake Raken . The steel type is AEBL if anyone is curious. anyways if you made it this far in the description you probably want to know that you could get a Vulp as a giveaway for me reaching 500 subscribers. it would be a great balisong for anyone to learn on and I would like it to go to someone who doesn't have a balisong yet. I went to limit this to in the USA so sorry if you live outside the USA I just don't want to have to deal with the shipping on that.
Definitely agree on frankenforge needing to step up his qc, me and a friend both got ions, and both had a bunch of qc issues that shouldnt have slipped thru for $550. I got mine sorted out with new handles though.
I do appreciate the communication you get from Aaron. He seems to be a hard worker and getting it figured out. It's incredible what he is accomplishing as an individual and I'm excited to see him continue growing his business. Glad you've had a similar experience on the customer support and communication side even though the QC was still an issue.
Made it to the end finally. Had to do stuff in between so took me a few hours. Great vid. Very long, but it covered everything in depth and I think a lot of people will appreciate that. Especially those looking into these Balis. Hope someone deserving gets that vulp. Also, you should keep the Polaris as they are discontinued now.

Yea it's a big price increase especially considering I'm seeing V1 & V2 go second hand for $300-$350. I don't think magnacut yields an extra $300-400.

Cool to hear you talk about your most expensive balisongs in your collection. I agree with your main takeaway for sure. You can do a lot on a very cheap balisong, though it will probably be much more enjoyable on a premium one.
It is a shame no one has asked for your giveaway Vulp yet. I have a friend that flipped for a bit a couple years back with a gas station ccc. I bet he would enjoy having a nice trainer to get back into flipping with, if you are looking to give it to someone that doesn't have a balisong yet.

Balisong flipping is one of my favorite hobbies. I love gaming, singing, playing piano occasionally and doing art with pens and an ipad. But i flip balisongs daily, and enjoy the shit outta it. So i absolutely think expensive knives are worth it(and expensive laserred anos)
Totally! I definitely enjoy my collection but my main point is that you don't necessarily get more out of an expensive balisong and if you can only afford less expensive it's ok. You can get great balisongs for less than $300 it's just likely not going to be made in America or titanium. Which is OK on both measures.

also i think some of your balis need oiled. could just be the audio quality, but some sound sharp
They almost most certainly needed it! Some were likely recently oiled but I try to not over do it.
