This has to be one of my favourite projects yet!
Today I built a pair of ski goggles containing a customisable LED matrix to show your personality on the slopes!
Support my channel and find the 3d files for this project on my website:

Please be very careful if you make these yourself as they do obstruct your vision. I will not be held accountable for your actions.
That being said, here's a parts list with affiliate links:

This is so brilliant and cool! I found your video because I was thinking of modifying my goggles with lights, but not with the same effect, just to light the inside of my goggles dimly with a glow so that my eyes are more visible to others at night.
You remind me of the Tele-Viper from Cobra from GI JOE. Even if it's not that functional on the ski slopes, you could make a perfect Cobra cosplay out of it, or for halloween!
The other thing it reminded me of was Canti, the robot from an anime called FLCL. Good job! Subscribed!

surprised this doesn’t have more likes, especially with how hands down you got with the mechanics of it all! my question is, is the battery replaceable? can you take it out and swap the batteries?

thanks for the support man! To answer your question, it's not replaceable although that modification could easily be made, that being said, it doesn't really need to be, the 18650s are rechargable and way overkill for this application so the chance of them needing to be replaced anytime soon is slim. I'd probably remake the battery system by the time it needs it :)

Got something similar in my recommended feed many months, maybe even years, ago, of someone modifiying their motorcycle helmet in a similar fashion. Thought to myself that that's pretty neat but since I don't ride motorcycles or wear full face helmets at all really I kind of disregarded the idea as being something I couldn't do myself. Then, with skiing videos beginning to pop up all over my feed for this coming skiing season this idea struck me. I'll definitely be trying my hands on doing this as well, brilliant video! Especially how well documented and thorough it is!
I'll add as a disclaimer, I don't plan on skiing with these on due to the severely reduced visibility! But being able to show it off as a cool project and maybe taking some pictures would be reward enough haha!

That's great to hear! I couldn't agree more, after testing these things out I think I was a little optimistic with how easy it would be to keep my awareness. Visibility is reduced but that's not a massive issue if the slopes are empty. When it gets busy though, these things can really get in the way! They still make for a great conversation starter though and they look great at snow parties :D

It does reduce visibility a bit, I cover this later on in the video, I definitely wouldn't recommend taking these on anything over a blue run for anyone that's not a well seasoned skier. Just use common sense, if the slopes are busy, if there's already low visibility or if you don't feel safe, take it off! Be safe out there :D
