Thanks to the GOAT for being a great sport for such a long video and making it a lot of fun! I learned so much even after 14 years of playing it's ridiculous. Also, thanks to YOU for 200,000 subscribers. A bit late, but this is the 200K sub special - thanks for all the support, hope it makes your day a little bit better - GLHF
Thanks for special, this truly is a treat. I love Serral. Maybe you could do this more often. Reynor and Clem speak english too. If you guys like this, like and subscribe, that is how we are gonna get more of these. Maybe not, but do it anyway.
I feel like serral is so good, he cannot explain what he does, it is just instinct. Like asking someone directions and they forget all the street names but still know how to get everywhere with back alleys and side streets under 10 mins.
Yea, i think everyone knows that feeling if they did something for long enough. The easiest example - your native language. You probably dont rember half the basic rules
No it is just that he is from the Nordics. Nordic people are very bad at explaining to non Nordic people, since what he does is basically explaining to you in a Nordic way. The cultural barrier is extremely high between the Nordics and the rest of the planet, for non Nordics it seems like they are bad at explaining but in fact it is just another world. Even after years living here it still amazes me every day, but I can tell you it has nothing to do with his skill level, it is a cultural thing and he actually explains quite a lot just not for non Nordic people. He in fact just does the standard and there are no tricks. That's it.
Tarkus here, I was completely thrown off by the cannon rush since you don't get rushed by the AI that early. Though my thought was that after watching Winter a lot, many cannon rushers tend to mis macro a lot since they have to manage 2 separate things (the rush and their base) so I just tried to calm down while thinking "the more he invests, the more eco advantage I get". Also the CC first was because in an old video, Winter said it was somewhat safer than 1 racks into CC since you build the CC immediately before the opponent gets units. Outside of that, I forgot to get 3/3 gas on my bases which hurt my production a lot since I wanted to get more Ghosts and upgrades but I had no gas. After the wipe, I didn't resign because I had a lot of ressources and I've seen many players give up too early after losing fights so I just went back to macro. In the end I was suprised that I won at all especially since my opponent actually gave up with 1.6K minerals and 800 gas. For most of my decisions, it was based on what I've learned from watching Winter: -Build SCVs till you hit 75 and build em constantly -Don't stare at fights and manage the production while the fight is happening -Upgrades , Production , Economy, Units, Attack -Try to get to 200/200 before attacking (I attacked in the end bc my opponent lost the fight but I would've waited for 200/200 otherwise). -Build more production buildings (racks, factories, starport) -Don't use Select all army -Send scouts to expos to check for hidden bases which worked since I found the bottom left base -Build units while fighting so you get reinforcements -Spend your ressources (didn't have enough gas to but if I did I wouldn't have hit 3K minerals lel)
Hey, it seems to me like you've absorbed a lot of information from watching all these videos, and made a lot of good choices. Probably overcommitted on the bunkers, 1 would probably have been enough. And going into tanks would probably have gotten you out faster, and in the meantime you just use those extra minerals you sunk into bunkers to build enough marines to keep anything he might send up the ramp away from you. Other than that, it was a pretty good job. I personally think you would have easily beaten the gold Zerg player from the second game in this video, I genuinely think your Protoss opponent played better than they did, so take that for whatever you think its worth lol
I love how innocent Serral is to judge lower players. He's always have been in the top so he probably doesn't even imagine the struggles us mere mortals have in lower ranks. I feel like he assumes everyone has at least a good sense of the game
Thanks for this video Winter and Serral!! At age 63, I know I am too old to be competitive in Starcraft, but I really enjoy watching the videos and listening to the commentary. I still play Starcraft, but mostly against the AI.
Wicked cool that serral came and did this im starting to wonder if i underestimated winter in the overall scope of sc2. I mean im newer to watching and i dont play but i thought he was just like the other 1000 people who cast games. Never expected him to get the best player in the world to have a sit in
Serral saying "n is close to your thumb" blew my mind. I've never thought to use my thumb for anything other than spacebar, and I've been playing hotkey-based games for over 20 years. I'm definitely going to try using my thumb for those further hotkeys on lower rows. That could be so useful for more than games. I use tons of hotkeys for my 3D/digital art workflows and it would be great there, too.
Hey! Long time fan. Here's a comment, but I might be wrong about it. You're so humble in this video! I know Serral is big and it is an honor. But that was such a polite Winter. I still like Polite Winter, but I would've enjoyed that video a bit more with Normal Winter. Again, maybe I'm wrong, maybe with a guest you just can't do that out of respect for him. Still liked and enjoyed, still made my day a little bit better.
As somebody who mostly plays campaign, I'm still sort of amazed by the first game - you hit the nail on the head that your Terran viewer was "booksmart", that's exactly how it felt the entire time. I have played some ladder, but it's SO different from playing campaign because there's usually no real pressure on you in the campaign... So you never had to deal with the enemy's probe harass or cannon rushes or all-ins, you could usually just macro up in peace. Then when you go ladder, you might know everything you need to know, but it gets REAL hard to switch your focus between micro and macro efficiently enough. You CAN get good by playing the campaign, but playing ladder requires PRACTICE 😅
Intro: "Probably has a plan, I feel like even lower players have a plan" That is correct. However, rarely has been Mike Tysons famous: "Everybody has a plan until he gets punched in the face" more true. In lower leagues, as long as nothing happened the plan works (more or less well), but as soon as stuff happens it falls apart. And no, I don't say that to spite the lower ranks, I only play a handful of matches myself and I am only Gold 1 / Plat 3, so I know what I am talking about because I see it happen in every single game I play^^ Thank you Winter, thank you Serral for this highly entertaining video :) I love how Serral got more and more comfortable with this kind of things, with streaming, speaking English... - there is a huge difference if you watch/listen to him today copared to a few years ago. As a non-native English speaker myself I completly relate :) 27:30 the discussion about "gg": Personally, I always replay "gg" if the opponents types it and most of the time I have enough time because people do not leave instantanously. Same with me if I loose. I type gg, wait a few seconds to give the opponent time to respond and then I leave. I feel like replaying with gg is much nicer than not to do it. And from the (extremly little) games I play I'd say that the majority does "gg" and replies with "gg".
In addition, the plans tend to very vague and superficial at lower levels. They don't know how to adapt to scouting, they usually do poor builds or just the same one in every game. Lower levels are riddled with unforced errors, and most people overestimate how much they know about the game so they don't realise how much they're ignoring or not noticing in game. Tastosis come to mind. SC2 is a brutal game.
6 mins in and this is such a good series idea. Smashing like button now winter. or Vinter as Serral would say. Thanks for coming on the show Serral you are a funny dude.
serral is currently in the military though he's still gonna try to play in what tournaments he can. i don't think he has enough time to dedicate to actually coach someone.
39:30 I have my Tab key set as a control group (8,9, and 0 are Q, Tab, and ~ respectively), and just use the 2 side buttons on my mouse for select all army and to cycle through subgroups. I main Protoss, so I can even swap 5 from my Gateway control group after warp gate is done, just use the W key to select all warp gates, and have another extra hotkey for a control group. It's a pretty sweet layout when you have a late game army and need a bunch of control groups.
This is the first time I could watch a replay from Serrals perspective and understand what he is actually doing. He's still impossibly fast for me. I don't understand how he can dodge widowmines or manage some of the fights so accurately. I also greatly admire how well he handles the mental picture of the battlefield, there's very little hesitation or delay in any of the decisionmaking. Part of it is routine, sure, but there's still a lot of moving parts and human short-term memory is just 7-9 units long.
Angry Coach is my favorite WinterStarcraft video series ever, hands down. Nothing is as entertaining. But... it's better with just you. Serral distracts from the Angry Coach elements and it's just normal coaching...
Now that i watched it to the end, i understand why my APM is in the high 50’s! I only do actions that really really really help and dont worry about ones that help only a little bit 😅
I know that asking for two hours of Serral's time is already a lot. However, I do think GM alone could have deserved its own category as well. There is, after all, a huge gulf between "just GM" and actually pro-level.
nah, you are underselling coop, campaign and viewer experience. Some coop mutations are harder than his protoss opponent. (as long as you don't panic seeing the canon rush)
Thanks to the GOAT for being a great sport for such a long video and making it a lot of fun! I learned so much even after 14 years of playing it's ridiculous.

Can you get Serral, Harstem, Lowko and Winterstarcraft 4v4 game? This would be so funny guys!!!
Thanks for special, this truly is a treat. I love Serral. Maybe you could do this more often. Reynor and Clem speak english too.
If you guys like this, like and subscribe, that is how we are gonna get more of these.
Maybe not, but do it anyway.
200,000 winter!!!!! that's sooo huge!!!!! so happy for you.
Serral is such a great sport to take some time off from mini golf to be a coach
Zerg limbs do be looking like golf clubs
I feel like serral is so good, he cannot explain what he does, it is just instinct. Like asking someone directions and they forget all the street names but still know how to get everywhere with back alleys and side streets under 10 mins.
Yea, i think everyone knows that feeling if they did something for long enough. The easiest example - your native language. You probably dont rember half the basic rules
It's a bit like explaining to someone how to walk, without demonstrating it.
So do you always start with your right foot?
Well it depends..
No it is just that he is from the Nordics. Nordic people are very bad at explaining to non Nordic people, since what he does is basically explaining to you in a Nordic way. He in fact just does the standard and there are no tricks. That's it.
That's a great way to put it
yeah being good at a certain thing and being good at teaching that thing are completely different skills that must be honed separately

-Build units while fighting so you get reinforcements
-Spend your ressources (didn't have enough gas to but if I did I wouldn't have hit 3K minerals lel)

You did great. Welcome to the ladder
youll be gold league before you know it
Low amp enjoyer 😎
YOU WERE A CHAMP! 📈
The Serral POV game is insane! Can’t believe how good this guy is and how fast he can inject
Very beautiful and interesting collaboration with the GOAT of SC2. Thank you winter for this great content more power to you and Serral
Serral is so good he brought the intro back
The goat and winter make a crazy good crossover episode! Hope to see something like this with other pros as well...
Man, that was an interview of the year, for sure.
You convinced Serral, now we need MaxPax. The voices of the downtrodden must be heard!
serrals smile is addictive
I love how innocent Serral is to judge lower players. He's always have been in the top so he probably doesn't even imagine the struggles us mere mortals have in lower ranks. I feel like he assumes everyone has at least a good sense of the game
The ultimate player and the best commentator! What a duo!
What about lowko..
i like how the earnings are posted at the beginning of the video. nice touches there jimmy.
Thanks for this video Winter and Serral!! At age 63, I know I am too old to be competitive in Starcraft, but I really enjoy watching the videos and listening to the commentary. I still play Starcraft, but mostly against the AI.
3:46 Using the Winter annoucer in his first ladder match. Love it.
The episodes with Serral are amazing, he is so funny! Great content, thanks for making this happen Winter.
very... freakin... cool... tytyty winter and serral!!!
Its so nice to see serral and winter together
If cannon rush doesn’t work, cannon rush from further away x’D awesome vid. Learned a lot as a new player tysm winter!
respect for pulling serral. His story as the first non-korean to dominate sc scene is so interesting
Wicked cool that serral came and did this im starting to wonder if i underestimated winter in the overall scope of sc2. I mean im newer to watching and i dont play but i thought he was just like the other 1000 people who cast games. Never expected him to get the best player in the world to have a sit in
Winter is one of the biggest SC2 content creators right now lol
Terran about lose entire army
Serral: That’s sad :D
I think the first one has the largest potential of improvement.
Serral saying "n is close to your thumb" blew my mind. I've never thought to use my thumb for anything other than spacebar, and I've been playing hotkey-based games for over 20 years. yea u can see winter being dwarfed by serral here. Didnt even point out the missing ORBITAL :
As somebody who mostly plays campaign, I'm still sort of amazed by the first game - you hit the nail on the head that your Terran viewer was "booksmart", that's exactly how it felt the entire time. I love how Serral got more and more comfortable with this kind of things, with streaming, speaking English... - there is a huge difference if you watch/listen to him today copared to a few years ago.
As a non-native English speaker myself I completly relate :)
27:30 the discussion about "gg":

SC2 is a brutal game.
I loved the apm convo. Also with the flex picture from IEM I hope serral goes on trt for giggles in the military and comes back swole.
Always love some Serral vids
Was really looking forward to this! Love seeing you make videos with the pros
i watched the first minute 20 seconds and i already love the editing! Well done to the editor!
I wish I had more than one like to give this video. Serral is such a gem to the SC2 community.
This is amazing. Two hours of coaching by the GoaT!
6 mins in and this is such a good series idea. Smashing like button now winter. or Vinter as Serral would say. Thanks for coming on the show Serral you are a funny dude.
This video is amazing. Thanks Winter and Serral.
Video idea: you and Serral take a bronze player each and try coach them for a month to verse each other. "Coach off"
10/10 would watch.
serral is currently in the military though he's still gonna try to play in what tournaments he can. i don't think he has enough time to dedicate to actually coach someone.

Been wondering where are these kind of videos for long time.
Should not have started watching the vid i can't finish. Now I leave in the middle, and give bad stats to youtube algorithm. DAMN YOU WORK!
what an awesome and wholesome video, was a tonz of fun to watch thanks !
That is crazy winter!! Thank you so much, you posed also the right questions to the best of the best. Well done indeed
18:00 how you both miss that he literally scouted every single possible mineral spots?
Im super impressed by the first dude
Winter mentioned that he had marines there
@@liquidreality472 yea after 1 minute xD they say he doesnt even check the minimap thats why I wrote it, they dont check it either
Fun cast
Terran in the first game did not play like a first time multiplayer lol.
This is the first time I could watch a replay from Serrals perspective and understand what he is actually doing. He's still impossibly fast for me. I did NOT expect this. tysm
Serral screwed up, now the other starcraft players know that the thumb can be used for more than spacebar...
@2:38 Serral is also the best terran player in Finland
This is awesome!! You guys are a great duo. You can tell Serral's brain is doing 500 APM just naturally, what a god.
Serral is The GOAT!
Amazing video! You know you're doin it right when the fricken GOAT gives some insight for 2 hours! Thank you for what you do man
The goats!
Woah is that a new intro sequence? Nice!
seeing serrals name I have to click. You know my weakness winter
Such a cool stream and unique thing to see this. kinda making me interested in starcraft again
Serral: "i know not of you measly peasant metal league lives"
Everyone else: yeah that's fair
Angry Coach is my favorite WinterStarcraft video series ever, hands down. Nothing is as entertaining. But... it's better with just you. Serral distracts from the Angry Coach elements and it's just normal coaching...
Winter, you are very cool for the video. Sorry for bad English. Danke!
tarkus looks like a diligent PiG fan)
Serral: THANKS FOR HAVING ME
hahahah XD ikr.
goat
Serral is such a nice guy, man
Winter being hyper-aware to not talk over the GOAT.
Thanks for this. It was great.
bring also CLEM :) I would like to see what he has to say
1:48:35 those lurkers decimating the scvs was brutal.
I feel serral for obliging his opponent if they wait for the gg. Sometimes as the conceding player, it does feel nice to receive a gg in return.
I love this kid so much! go Serral !!!!!! forever the goat
Fuu some coaching lesson from the legend himself!
winter is just wonderful
imagine playing your first placement match just to instantly face cannon toss
Hard to believe it hs been 4 months scince this masterpiece.
Now that i watched it to the end, i understand why my APM is in the high 50’s!
I only do actions that really really really help and dont worry about ones that help only a little bit 😅
2024, his very first ranked match ever and gets cannon rushed. It does put a smile on my face.
amazing stuff
alternative title: " Glazing Serral, with Winterstarcraft!"
I love these kinda videos
Why do I get the feeling Serral is watching the replays on one screen and casualy playing games on another xD
Love this
SUCH a good stream
Serral is just GOAT
1:54:10 Can't stop laughing. Its just funny Winter went there.
I know that asking for two hours of Serral's time is already a lot. However, I do think GM alone could have deserved its own category as well. There is, after all, a huge gulf between "just GM" and actually pro-level.
Seeeeeeeeeeerral 🐐
I love your sence of humor Winter
I wonder what Serral's actual B2GM would look like. Serral smurfing in Bronze is kinda hillarious.
i mean, he kinda smurfs everywhere he goes, so, more of the same but faster wins?
Good series !!! ❤
Serral was suffering in silence seeing his zerg family being murdered by carriers 😂😂😂
This shouldve been a live stream
I WANT TO SEE THIS FOR TERRAN, CLEM PLEASE!
Please convince Maru to do this now.
That would be amaizing, but i think korean players are much less confident with their english, so they wouldn't accept... But hey, maybe i'm wrong.
that was fun ;)
Joona on päällikkö äijä
Whaaaat how you treat us, winter
Game sound too loud I found, thanks for the neat video!
Guess this is Tarkus's 3rd account. Certainly not first ranked game, that's obvious.
nah, you are underselling coop, campaign and viewer experience. Some coop mutations are harder than his protoss opponent. (as long as you don't panic seeing the canon rush)
Serral!!!
Just that. Serral!
How did i miss it? Better later than ever.
20:58 : when f2 kicks in
Damn, I have something in common with serral :D (The gg thing)
Haha great edit
