I want hostile random events back. I loved them. Shade, evil chicken, water troll, rock golem, etc. I wish there was an option to turn them back on, that way the people that don't want them don't have to have them.
I remember being a kid back in 07. Just got my account and was starting to get some items. Had no idea what I was really doing but I was enjoying it. I was leveling on sheep on the small farm on the path from Lumbridge to Varrock when all of a sudden that fucking chicken appeared from nowhere. My level 8 ass was no match. And just like that, all gone. I didn't realize I could easily go back for my stuff. Just rage quit lol
Here's one from RuneScape Classic that's more of an urban legend than a game feature: Apparently if you could find a player named Moneybags in-game he would give you a million GP or more which was a lot at the time. I added them to my friends list way back then but in all these years I've never seen them come online.
The mention of darkscape hit me in the feels, I loved that mode. "Quit" the main game to play it, and then instead of paying an extra mod or two to help bring content to it, they just killed it off, even after promising content for it.
I could see it getting really popular now if they went all in on the "no rules" thing like 2b2t in minecraft. But maybe that would work better as a private server since people apparently really like being able to say, uh. Messed up stuff

I've always had this conspiracy theory that a lot the EOC mechanics came from the scrapped Stellar Dawn. If I remember correctly, EOC was announced right around the time they gave up on Stellar Dawn
Now that you mention it, it's possible that they reused some of the lore ideas from Stellar Dawn after it was scrapped. It explains some of the quasi sci-fi storylines RS3 has been getting lately. There's been a noticeable aesthetic shift away from traditional medieval to more magitek/steampunk. Places like Mazcab and Iaia look more like alien planets rather than what you might expect to see in a standard fantasy setting. Not to mention, the Dragonkin's technology looks like something you'd see from an ancient advanced extraterrestrial civilization.
Man I was an admin the a clan called T O K, named after the old night. Remembering that hit me in the feels as the clan was huge and a great community but logging in a few years ago it had well and truly died off.
I could see a runescape tv show, of one off of different quests and events in the game. Have different arcs for different quest series, not necessarily in the order of the game, but in a more logical chronological series
I think a good video would be going over lesser-known glitches exploit. Everyone obviously knows about stuff like the fally massacre, but other ones that come to mind that weren’t well known - D spear duel arena glitch - Enchanted valley exploit (I made 2.5B off this back in the day when gold was scarce) - Barb assault rune smuggle - While Guthix Sleeps alching bots (I made 800M in one day before getting banned) etc
bro i was in 12th grade highschool when i discovered darkscape. i had just introduced my friend to osrs a few weeks prior and we started playing darkscape together. it was so much fun and i was super sad when not even 2 weeks into playing it they announced a shutdown.. but on the bright side they offered a free month of membership for anyone eho played 24 hours or more of it so it made up cuz that was my first ever time getting to be a member in runescape
Oddly enough I saw this video recommended and thought "huh runescape has an iceberg? Wonder where it's located" then skipped over it and over the last 4 weeks have delved deep into iceberg videos and was reminded when one had runescape in it, and now a month later here I am watching the video. Cool

FYI there has been a PMod room at least as far back as pre-RS3, can confirm as a former PMod but can't remember the date, but ingame PMod meetings were a thing long before RS3.
I was the pmod mentor of the water group, from 2005 to 2011. I used the pmod room a lot, to talk with jmods in-game and decide surgeries, talk about other mods that were infringing some rules or just to decide some events. After a while (at least for me), we just started using skype for most important stuff.
Daaaaamn that was nuts! Sucks to learn about the Old Nite statue but you're right; at least they ended up giving him credit with the Enclave. Some of this stuff I knew but you were right, the farther down the iceberg we got, the more mysterious it became....excellent video.
We need to petition jagex to release the files and source code for Mechscape so that modders and javascripters can recreate the game with private servers. If the project is popular enough jagex can release an official version with membership.
13:51 there was another complete but cancelled random event, it was cancelled AFTER it was released.. hours after it was released, servers went down and the random event was removed. there was a chat message and a "creeping vine" would begin growing across the ground, it would spread pretty quickly and only last for about 20 seconds, if you moved it would grow toward you, and if you moved while it was within 1 tile of you, it would kill you on the spot. if you stood still, it would ignore you, then dissipate.
Darkscape was honestly terrifying. The GEs had super OP guards but it still took them a few seconds to kill a high level player. My buddy and I saw many a person get specced right at the GE. We eventually got Desert Treasure done, doing it coop style for protection, and had some fun with Ancient Magicks but then the servers shut down. It was kinda cool that we got XP transferred over to RS3, it bumped my main to 99 mage and 95 prayer so I had fun with that for a little bit afterwards.
i'm pretty sure that d full helm crash in eoc 2013 was from mith drags becoming bottable at the time when the price was still very high. then when they made changes to make them hit harder they burned off all the bones and absolutely destroyed the d full helm price. i was playing at the time so it was really common to see them there

I was once playing RS2 not long from release; I remember this because I had an odd way of training compared to now and it's the only time I've done it but I was at the Moss Giants in Varrock sewer. I'd been there for HOURS and another lad was there that I was chatting with for a while all of a sudden some guy shows up on the mini map out of bounds running towards our cave and started talking to us through the wall. He told us he had just come from the mod room. I imagine this was not long after the release of RS2 officially (possibly around the time silver mods came out?) as I didn't have members until a month or so after it's release. On that account I trained prayer by baby blue dragons and that wasn't until well into my membership so this definitely happened prior to that by some time because I leveled that quite late.

when the duel arena came out you could put your items into the offer screen and if you teleported away while in the menu the items would dupe. it lasted about 3 days.

Runescape 3 is actually awesome now, quit ours after maxing all 99s and now enjoying rs3 so much more better gameplay graphics and updates.

(More than you can say about Halw Gnun that herblore fetish MF not even stopping his potion making for a chat. Always made my potions quick tho. Once I reached a herblaw lvl Halw Gnun has already made my pots. Dam I gave that guy a lot of xp...)
I just hope the conspiracy of Old Nite being alive is true. Sadly (or luckily) I was not close to him but though friends were so I met him at parties and randomly in the game. Always said a quick hello and he always replied back. True legend, nice guy. R.I.P
