About The Game: Day of the Tentacle, also known as Maniac Mansion II: Day of the Tentacle, is a 1993 graphic adventure game developed and published by LucasArts. It is the sequel to the 1987 game Maniac Mansion. The game's plot follows Bernard Bernoulli and his friends Hoagie and Laverne as they attempt to stop the evil Purple Tentacle-a sentient, disembodied tentacle-from taking over the world. The player takes control of the trio and solves puzzles while using time travel to explore different periods of history.

What, you can't talk about Day of the tentacle without at least mentioning the famous quote, TAKE ON THE WORLD
This is the first time that I see Brutalmoose and a game get completed in the same video.
did you not see the space pirate video earlier
jirard had to encourage him there too...
Hey-o.
leol xd
Oooh shots fired
But Living Books games?
Critical Path?
Yukon Trail?
I'm really proud, that germany got a whole company keeping Point 'n' Click alive. With some of the best games in this category up to this day. So,...hail daedelic.
Let's... Not talk about hailing and Germany together.
+Kenpokid4 why? Because you think all German are Nazis?
+Splargly Splargleton +Kenpokid4 Hmmm, look who the racist is, Mr. Chinese Martial Artist.
Well. America is not THAT far from hailing to their own dictator soon.
yup. Daedelic is awesome. One of the two awesome gaming producers in Germany.
I've not seen such bravery.
They still sell those cheese balls on the east coast lol
As well as the west coast. Have no clue what they're talking about unless it's a certain brand they want.
Maybe they meant Planters' Cheese Balls? Most of the ones sold around me are Utz or some similar bargain brand.
Ya. They sell those exact ones at Walmart
yeah they do
I find em in the mid west as well
"Ooh, a puppy!"
"Ah, be careful dear. He has a knife."
"Wha- What? No I don't."
Nice collab with Brutalmoose, Jirad
*Jirard
+The Engie That Cried Nope the engine that cried nope??? GENIUS!
Completiomoost collab👍
Wallace is too damn funny! Please keep on using him, and may adding some bloopers from him too!
If you want more wallace, Alex always brings wallace when they record beard bros.
I assume that's how he knew his name.
StudioInkblot Should've thought of that...
I like how pixel Jirard is just peeking over his shoulder
Mhmm
I can't unsee that.
It looks so creepy
OH MY GOD! I just saw that.
Now I can't un-see it.
I wish he got Scarfulhu to play this with him, or Jirard should get him for another point and click.
i freakin love how the intro just keeps gettin better
"I'm not going down because of a dog!"
-Ramsay Bolton
I would just like to say, thank you very much Jirard, for actually using that phrase correctly at 1:30, I endlessly hear people putting the 'let alone' phrase in reverse, and it's one of my biggest pet peeves, but it was a breath of fresh air to actually hear someone say it probably for once, keep up the good work... oh, the episode was pretty great too btw
My favorite point and click game is Overwatch only accessed by using Bastion
Ayyyyy a fellow Gorillaz fan
+ScrewyGrapes ayyyyyyy I'm a system of a down fan
+Toaster Welker not a huge fan but I appreciate your contribution friend :)
+ScrewyGrapes I like gorillaz too
Widowmaker*
I find it funny how Jirard as talking about how PC games are still going and then goes on to play a classic PC game remastered for a PS4.
I see you have Psychonauts back there! Any chance of that getting reviewed?
I wish For A review of PsychoNauts!
I hope to see him review Halo 1-4 on the MCC (even if they were all separate videos). I know he would love to play them.
+TheLastCreeper then we can go, "Hey Jirard, when are you gonna complete the Halo pack?
AMEN
No More Game Packs Plz!!!!!!!!!!
But wait, if the kids went to the past to stop purple from drinking the sludge, then they're getting rid of the thing that caused them to go back in the first place, stopping them from stopping purple, while also stoping him, creating an infinite loop in the process!
Bro...
The best way you can describe this game with a single word is "Charm."
"Not going down because of a dog"
Implying that wouldn't be the best way to go even if it's murder
There is this criminally under appreciated game for the PC and Wii called Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People.
Strong Bad!! It's been so long since I've heard that wonderful name.
Er mer gerd
I'm super in love with The White Chamber, and I'm so hype for the remastered version!
My favorite Point and Click nostalgically is Curse of Monkey Island. It was one of the first I had played with voice acting, and the vibrancy of the characters sticks with me today. I also love some of the indy point and clicks that have come out lately. I'm glad that they are being kept alive, nothing like a good puzzle.
I swear Jirard was trying to be like JWittz at the beginning.
Gotta admit, that end part was probably one of the much more unique way to promote Crunchy role lol.
I like the classic Humongous Entertainment kids' games like Pajama Sam, Putt Putt, Freddi Fish, and such.
Oh how I love brutalmoose's deadpan delivery
Opening talks about how he's not just a console player, but a pc gamer too...
Ends up using footage from the PS4 version, and not the PC. XD
Brutalmoose! I'm glad he's getting recognition.
"What the hell was that?"
In which Ian says what a lot of us were thinking
jirard sure is a great beatboxer
Makes Arin look a scrub.
This episode was so good, I don't know what to say. Good job, TOVG!
A Dollar Tree near where I live sells Cheese Balls.
Tell Tell Games are not point and click, they're interactive movies.
+AceJr222 Yeah, but those weren't the examples in the video.
Everything after Jurassic Park is NOT a point n click.
TellTale not tell tell lol. And yes they have point and click segments
+AceJr222 back to the future still is my favourite telltale game
Well, it's obviously not the best of the bunch...but hey, that's just your own personal taste.
Nothing wrong with that :)
Ian & Octopimp?
I just now realized that when "Beard Mode" activates, the background goes pixelated. Nice touch Jirard.
The only Point and click adventure games I've played are the kiddy ones when I was young.
I don't know why, but I love that sort of Edgeworth impression at 20:38 lol
Definitely Day of the Tentacle !!! I was so glad they released the remastered version.
those cheeseballs are still on the market
i have a bucket right in my kitchen XD
Uhhh... cheese balls still exist, guys...
I just want to point out that you can still buy those cheese balls here on the East Coast.
I beat this game WITHOUT A GUIDE.
It's called THINKING. It's not that hard people.
Pixar The Great 🏆here's your medal of honor
CrazyClint Gaming that's a trophy.
I love the use of music from Monkey Island being used in the background of the video. (at least at about 5:30). Awesome!
Didn't think I was going to see a DotT video in my recommended section. Amazing. Nostalgia all over the place. Cheers!
Not gonna lie, that ad was the best I've seen for ages from UA-camrs! So good!
Anyone else wanna see Jirard team up with Pushing UP Roses (and LGR) to complete and review all the Sierra's Point and Click adventure games?
but... we have cheese balls. You guys are crazy, WE STILL HAVE THE EXACT BRAND YOU GUYS ARE SHOWING! AAAAAAAAAA
Favorite point and click? Gotta be Myst! Why? Because when I was a kid and had an old computer that couldn't handle real-time 3d graphics, Myst came along and BLEW MY MIND! The atmosphere simultaneously frightened and delighted me, and the hidden storyline provided just enough clues along the way to keep me intrigued without giving too much away.
Thank you for including the Snapple fact ! For some reason it made me happy 😄
girard acts like a kid who just discovered cussing for the first time everytime he curses.
you tried to hard on the commercial, and i love it. I demand that well produced commercial every episode from now on!
Now we need Sam & Max Remastered with these graphics.
That cunchyroll bit was hilarious.
Great video man!
When I played the remastered version, I nearly missed all the achievements because I knew all the solutions to the puzzles.
Oh man, hearing the Monkey Island theme played first gave me so much nostalgia! Thanks for that!~
When the Defend It CrunchyRoll Ad came up at the end of the episode I thought Jirard was going to be called out for the Snapple ad in the middle of the video
I love Grim Fandango. It's not technically "point" or "click," but it might be my favorite game of all time. It's definitely up there.
"Go subscribe to brutal moose, I have not seen such bravery" I see what you did there, Jirard
Is he serious about the Cheese balls? Those things are everywhere.
Every time I walk by them, I think of a bass line.
The visuals look amazing to be honest.
Bernard's whitebread nerdiness is why we love him.
"Broken Age" is a nice, new addition to the library!
5:08 "Ooh, a puppy!"
"Oh careful honey -he has a knife."
"Oh what, no, no I don't..."
My favourite point-and-click is Nancy Drew: the Ghost of Thornton Hall. That stuff is nightmare fuel, with a terrific story and gameplay.
At 5:26 i'm appreciating the Monkey Island theme tune re-mix... 10/10
I think for me it'd be either Maniac Mansion, because of growing up playing it and watching it, or The Curse of Monkey Island. Both were fun and had some fond memories for me with their humour and charm.
every time i hear this all i can think about is how theres a little kid somewhere dancing to the theme song
I only know of Day Of The Tentacle from the ultra-hidden bonus level in ZAMN. Blasting away at purple tentacles just never got old.
Pajama Sam: No Need to Hide When it's Dark Outside is the best
Those cheeseball jokes really got me because they still sell those where i work. lol
Don't know what you're talking about Jirard. I see those Utz Cheese Balls on the shelf at work every day.
I see cheeseballs everywhere in the stores I go to. They are at that size too
I think you are just paranoid
Dammit Wallace, and your murderous instincts. You ain't fooling me with those cute puppy dog eyes
Seeing Jared beatboxing is what I prayed for and by God they have been answered
Favorite P&C adventure? Day of the Tentacle, naturally! I had it on my old Mac back in the 90's. I remember how it came with a SEALED hint guide! A rather sarcastic one, at that!
Favorite point-and-click? The Longest Journey. April Ryan is just such an amazing character. I love it still!
5:08 look out, he has a knife! dog: what? no, i don't have a knife.
That Phoenix Wright crunchyroll ad was one of the best ads I have seen
Great episode Jirard and Brutalmoose :D though I really liked the short promotion skit you did, and that beatboxing
I have a container of those cheese balls on my desk. They aren't gone.
What do you mean they dont sell cheese balls anymore? They sell them at the store a block away from my apartment.
They make such a big deal about Utz Cheese Balls being gone, but you can walk into a Wal-Mart and buy them, I saw some the other day.
Tentacle inspired flag? What do you mean? That's how the American flag has always looked.
We don't have cheese balls anymore? Oh no, better throw this gallon-sized bucket of cheese balls away since it's probably 20 years old... >_>
I love Maniac Mansion. Ranks up in my top 10 favorite games of all time. I never got around to playing DotT, but as soon as I saw the remastered game on PSN, I didn't think twice about getting it. Loved every minute of it
Ian at the end. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!?"
that Crunchy Roll commercial was almost as good as the ones the Game Grumps did
Jirard, those cheese balls are still purchasable at Office Depot
I played the game for like an hour and couldn't find the battery blue prints, then my brother plays and finds it right away
I always loved the old sierra games. Leisure suit larry, Kings quest, and Space quest were my childhood.
Utz Cheese Balls? You can buy them by the pallet at the Sam's Club where I'm living.
I always found it funny that Bernard of all people returned. In the original Maniac Mansion, Bernard ran in terror at the sight of Green Tentacle (despite the fact he was a pretty great guy... err... Tentacle.)
Though he can murder you if you get a record deal as Sid or Razer and gloat by showing him the contract. Like showing Weird Ed Edison his hamster after microwaving it.
Makes me almost miss the player death element in MM.
Was I the only one who reacted to the "Are You My Mummy?"-trophy? :)
Loves PC gaming, plays point and click on PS4.
Love you Jirard
Also, as a nod to the first game, in day of the tentacle you are limited to three characters.
My favorite point & clicks are the games in the "Chzo mythos" series. The games are 5 Days a Stranger, 7 Days a Skeptic, Trilby's Notes, and 6 Days a Sacrifice.
thumbs up for my boy TRAVIS TOUCHDOWN chillin in the back of the courtroom in the Phoenix Wright Scene!
My favorite point-and-click adventure game is "Loom". It's got a really deep high fantasy story that has so much potential universe-wise and there were never sequels made. Shame too, because I wanted to see how the story with Bobbin Threadbare and his friends wraps up.
They sell those cheeseballs at bass pro shops cause hunters love taking them on trips for some reason.
Probably the only time I sat through a crunchyroll ad since Game Grumps
My dad raised me on graphic adventure games.
"Will the Sharks ever have a winning season?"
All hail the defending Western Conference Champions!
Don't worry about the Cheese balls Jirard. Sam's Club sells them! And they're in a massive tub!
