My Brave Decision to protect our home from Chennai flood & Home Safety Lessons

Chennai's heavy rains prompted me to act fast! With a red alert in place, I visited our new home to ensure its safety.
My Experience
Started from apartment with no water logging
OTS area flooding threatened electrical points
DIY car cover solution saved the day!
Returned home to blasting thunder!

Better stay in apartment itself sis..bcz during flood time you will suffer more in this house it seems....as i told earlier don't miss that apartment very safe and secure

Mazha time la water tank fill panni thaan vakkanum illana idhumari thaan aagum......... Try to fill it ASAP.

As advised earlier, please stay in your apartment and rent out the individual house. Independent house will have so many problems and you need to have so much patience to fix them.
Sintex tank should not be left empty, thats one of the drawbacks.
Please do some waterproofing on the terrace, i would recommend white tiles so that water will drain easily and cleaning will also be easy.

During rainy season only we can check the other side of house condition....If possible try to fill gravel sand or chips work surrounding your house to avoid stagnantion of water...It will affect the basement...Also do water proofing painting on terrace..so that rain water will not settle over easily...Just an additional protection to safeguard roof

Area name innum sollalayae... Not only you...any house tour no one is saying atleast area name. No need address 😅 so, we will know which area water is stagnating.
