  • In this video I show you how I connect braid to braid. If I'm connecting two nylon lines together I use the blood knot, but the blood knot is no good when connecting braid to braid, because the knot will slip open. Instead I use this knot that is like a variation on the blood knot.
If anyone knows the name of this knot please write it in the comments below.

Thank you VERY much. This knot held up perfectly for me and its exactly what I was searching for. All the other videos on braid to braid knots show knots which cant be done with the one line on the reel...
    Thank you!

When you went back through the hole after doing the twists. The first one you went back through hol from under and then after twisting second leg you went back through hole also from under.. i thought you had to go through in opposite direction ?

I think that is just what it looks like, it should be like you say, one from under and one from above. I have accidentally tied it with both from under a few times, and I can't say I notice any difference.

Helt rätt. Blandade ihop den med en knut jag har i en annan video. Tack för påminnelsen.

This is not a grinner knot.. a grinner knot is the English way of saying a uni knot

There is not one knot, including this one, that connects braid to braid that I can’t pull apart with moderate effort. I’ve tried them all

I have had no problems with this knot, and I can't pull it apart. The line breaks before it pulls apart. But there is a difference between different brands of braid, so I'm not surprised if it pulls apart with some of them. I haven't tried more than just a few brands. I mainly use Berkley Tracer Braid.

@@metamera tried the knot this morning with 80# power pro. I wrapped each end securely to wooden dowel handles and super glued the ends thru holes I drilled in the dowels. Next I pulled. 3 times in a row the knot pulled apart. The 80# line was unharmed. Knot slowly released leaving the ends curly like a pig’s tail

Then you tied them wrong...Have been using the 8-10 wrap double uni and a 8 wrap blood knot to connect braid to braid ever since spectra line came out...has never failed even on 200+ pound yellowfin tuna...also, always a good idea to lock the knot with ca glue...

Looks like a Modified Blood Knot

Yes, it's rather similar to a blood knot.
