Great info and video! I'm in the research stage of setting up my taco with a rtt. This looks like a winner. Had a few questions though... 1. Does this set up require a roof rack? 2. Will this fit on a short bed taco with a overland rack? (looks like short bed in video, wanted to be sure) 3. Anything else I need to consider? Thanks!
Is it possible to put a canoe or kayaks on top of it going towards the roof rack? Want to have a tent feature while hauling something to traverse the waters.
Thanks for the vid and specific comments about all the added features. As a very tall camper, I appreciate you addressing the interior dimensions. We’re you able to use it much this summer? Does it get really warm in hotter weather?
Nick - thanks for watching! I really appreciate it. I used it all summer countless times in very hot weather (Southern Utah). I was never hot during the night due to all four sides completely opening up. It definitely breathes VERY well. Carson
David - thanks for reaching out! Great question - I thought the exact same thing before I started RTT camping. The bottom of the tent is reinforced with Extruded Aluminum Alloy crossbars that support the underneath hanging part. This specific tent has been engineered to hold weight up to 750lbs. It's crazy, the extended part of the tent has zero flex and has full support.
I’m new to roof tents I have the same cab track as you do would I be able to Mount this tent to the cab rack instead of over the bed? Thanks for the great review
Jack - here are the interior dimensions: 55"L X 98"W X 47"H Materials- Body: 3 Layers of 150D Poly-Oxford with 60g/M2 Poly-fil Rainfly: 210D Rip-Stop Poly-Oxford with Silver Coating and 3,000mm Polyurethane Coating Mattress : 2" High Density Foam Flooring: 2" EPE Foam Frame: Extruded Aluminum Alloy Hope that helps!
Hey James. Great question! I didn’t have to make any modifications- easy 10-15 minute install. Here is the bed rack I have: www.tacomalifestyle.com/collections/3rd-gen-tacoma-racks/products/cbi-2016-current-tacoma-overland-bed-rack
Great question. They both have the bottom brackets already mounted! Here is a link to the other high country 55 that isn’t premium. Also a great option! www.tacomalifestyle.com/collections/camping/products/freespirit-recreation-high-country-55-2-3-people
Really digging that tent!! I like the tri layer and the plug LED. Great video !!!
Excited for all your videos.
Killing it. Very nice review. I'm thinking about tents...

So I have a Tacoma 2015, What get up would i need to have like the same set up as you? or is my truck to out of date for current products?
New to tacoma camping. I see the support directly under the main part of the tent, but where is the support underneath the hanging part? just asking.

Do you ever take it off your truck? Are the rails that lift it above the bed part of the tent or is that a separate thing?
cool video bro
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it

I was wondering the same question. Please someone answer our question lol
Can you load a motorcycle in the bed? That’s my main issue with getting a tent
Is there any kind iof tonneau cover that can be used with the rack system so you can have all your gear covered and secured. Thanks 😊
We’re mounting ours in the cab for that reason.
On
You can check Belliebars.com. They have available crossbar that you can install tonneau cover at the same time.
Damn, now that’s a mansion.
Great review! What bed frame did you mount the tent to? Make and model? Also what size wheel and tire and lift are you running?
What is your rack set up. Brand and all. Love it man! Sweet review.
Thanks for your video....I have a hard top, three fold, will I be able to install the rack without taking out the hard top cover?
Microscopic ladder 😂😂😂
What's the mattress length they include with the tent?
What material is the base of this tent?
Jack - here are the interior dimensions: 55"L X 98"W X 47"H
Materials-

Rainfly: 210D Rip-Stop Poly-Oxford with Silver Coating and 3,000mm Polyurethane Coating

Flooring: 2" EPE Foam

2 year update ? Cost ? What bed rack is that ?
Which rack system do you have and did you have to make any modifications before fitting the tent?

Is the premium the only one that comes with the bottom brackets already mounted on or is that for all of them

Does this dude live in Utah?
BORN & RAISED! We are actually based out of Orem, Utah
microscopic?? I think you are looking for telescopic.
I expected more from a video that says everything you need to know in the title. Alot of info is missing.
Microscopic ladder? Is that a thing?
No - had a major mind blank lol. caught me!
what rack are you using to hold this tent up? Can you link it? @tacomalifestyle
Microscopic ladder????
Dude called it FREEDOM Recreation and a microscopic ladder... what
LOL - you caught me. Totally messed up that wording - I am not going to lie lol
Do not stick over so far you take up the other man's rental space beside you.... He will likely kick your ladder down the road.
Telescopic...I have one...be careful!
Who lives in the million dollar home😂
2 grand for a tent. Hmmmmm
American flag on a foreign vehicle..what a 🤡. Domestic ftw.
